My mother gifted me a potful of Buddha’s Temple that was on the way to being Home Depot’d to death. I’m determined to love it back to full health.
…and after spending an hour pulling dead stems and taking cuttings to (hopefully) root, it turns out this pot is TWO STEMS. Possibly just ONE. How old must this thing be? I have no prior Buddha’s Temple experience.

"Unlock the Magic of Purple and Green Succulents: Your Ultimate Guide!"
Hey there, succulent lovers! 🌵💜💚
If you're looking to add a touch of enchantment to your succulent collection, purple and green succulents are your best bet. These stunning plants are not only easy to care for but also offer a delightful burst of color that will make your garden or home decor pop!
🌟 Why Choose Purple and Green Succulents? 🌟
Vibrant Hues: The blend of purple and green in these succulents creates a mesmerizing color contrast that's hard to resist.
Low Maintenance: Like all succulents, they're super low-maintenance and can thrive with minimal care.
Year-Round Beauty: These succulents keep their brilliant colors year-round, so your garden or indoor space will always look vibrant.
Unique Varieties: There's a wide range of purple and green succulent species to choose from, each with its own distinct characteristics.
🪴 Best Purple and Green Succulents for Your Collection 🪴
Echeveria 'Perle von Nürnberg': Known for its elegant rosette shape, this succulent boasts dusky purple leaves with a touch of silvery-blue.
Crassula 'Buddha's Temple': This one-of-a-kind succulent has distinctive stacked leaves that are green at the base and transition to a deep purple hue at the tips.
Sedum 'Purple Emperor': Its deep purple, almost black, foliage adds a dramatic touch to your succulent garden.
Aeonium 'Zwartkop': With glossy, dark purple-black leaves, this succulent is a real showstopper.
🌞 Caring for Your Purple and Green Succulents 🌞
Light: These succulents thrive in bright, indirect light. Place them near a sunny window or in filtered sunlight for the best results.
Soil: Use well-draining soil to prevent overwatering and root rot. A cactus/succulent mix is ideal.
Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, once every 2-3 weeks is sufficient.
Temperature: Keep your succulents in a warm and dry environment. They prefer temperatures between 60-80°F (15-27°C).
Containers: Plant your succulents in pots with drainage holes to avoid waterlogging.
Now that you're equipped with all the knowledge you need, it's time to add some captivating purple and green succulents to your collection. These beauties will transform your space into a succulent paradise! 🪴✨
Remember to share your succulent journey with us, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Happy succulent gardening! 🌵💜💚

Tiny heads emerging after my Crassula 'Buddha's Temple' bloomed. It's still sporadically growing and opening occasional new flower buds.

This is Crassula Buddha's Temple. A rare plant & hard to grow.
1st picture is its current condition as of May 2nd. 2nd picture was its condition two days after it got delivered on March 28th.
While it is a eye catching succulent to me, it's extremely sensitive & hard to take care of. The bottom leaves kept getting rotten given a little water. I'm struggled to know when to water it.
I'm still learning about its required light conditioning according to where it stays.

The Buddha's temple crassula I have had for a little over three years now is finally blooming for the first time!
Apparently, it takes around three years of growth before this type of plant produces flowers, so it's right on schedule; it was only a little over an inch tall when I got it back in April 2021, so it's cool to see how long it had stayed alive and how far it has come.

I found myself a little fun over spring break.
I’ve read that aloe is really great for air purification. I’ve always wanted to hang a window with a bunch of them for that reason.
- Mason jars with twine loops threaded under lids and drilled drainage holes
- Aloe vera, Aloe brevifolia, and a little Crassula Buddha’s Temple
- Broken up and cleaned
- Repotted and hung on old bike chains

Because the bowl I had this pot sitting in was deeper than the pot, I didn't realise that water would sit at the bottom and all this spotty mould just ended up infesting all the soil. I suppose unsurprisingly there was such a small root ball. Not having a good run.
But life still prevails! Pups!
