Since they never got a chance to show up in A Forest of Tales, here’s four more cats submitted by @lurking-in-asphodel-fields​ months ago.

Icepop, the reason I’m gonna be watching a lot of videos of deaf cats.

Rabbitroar is a muscular, short-furred tabby cat with a white belly and white paws (like she's wearing a jacket) with dark amber eyes. She has big ears but a stubby tail.

Despite her name and her big ears, Rabbitroar has poor hearing and tended to come back empty-pawed from hunting. However, no-one encouraged and critiqued her clanmates more than Rabbitpaw. Always looking to help others perfect their techniques in all matters of the clan. Now, she's a dedicated mentor who flits between patrols, apprentices, and the nursery to make the clan the best it can be at keeping the supplies stocked for her.

You are so lucky I had a place to put this cat. If you'd like to submit a cat in the future, please stick to kittypet, loner or rogue origins. Clanborn(you don't specify if she joined her clan as Rabbitpaw or not, so I can only assume she's clanborn) characters are harder to incorporate into a story when the pre-established clans are already introduced.

That being said, here's Rabbitroar. I hope you like the design.

Story: Downhill is a former member a clan that was destroyed. She travels with her mate and 2 kits hoping one day she’ll find a place that looks like a clan to call home. Often, she tells stories to her young kits about her old home. And how she would run around the moor and catch lots of hares.

Welp... Time for my first cat edits. At the time of me receiving this ask and writing this response, I have already made Downhill and her kits. Luckily, I hadn't finished saving them yet, so I can pop in real quick to add Badgergrowl and make any necessary edits. Like the kits having swapped genders and Downhill's eyes changing.

Also, whether or not they join a group in Warriors of the Wild will be luck of the dice. I don't control when cats join the clans and community, nor who joins. I play with aging turned off, so they'll still be around if I throw them into the world for later use.

Now, on to the alterations.

Starting with Downhill, the only alterations were her eyes and traits. Because I have an obsession with purple, I have a purple eye set saved that I can alter slightly to add some blue.

I think the last one looks best. So that's Downhill finished.

Next are the kits, since I already have a base to work with. Apparently, along with the gender swap, the kits' coats have changed as well.

Here's the new Marshkit. Getting the colors just right and trying to give her a unique tortie pattern were the hardest parts.

Here's Hillkit's new design, much more difficult than his sister or previous version. The stripe from muzzle to tail was so difficult to get done. It's not perfect, but good enough.

Now to add Badgergrowl to the mix.

Here he is! He was easier because I just took Hillkit's coat and altered it.

This is so funny to me.

So... I have a group of cats in Warriors of the Wild who aren't a part of a clan, it's more of... a community.

In that community is a ginger tabby tom named Fox.

Here's the boi! He's loud, loves food, and always ready to play.

However, I've decided to change this cat's name, because your Fox would fit the prophecy I had just generated far better, in my opinion.

So, after rolling a new name for this den dad, meet Berry!

And now I can go make Fox, the little scam artist.

Here he is! I already adore him! Can't wait to see what part he plays in this prophecy.

Another generator made cat.

Apperance Oakpaw is a tall, plump she-cat. Her fur is pale golden with a classic tabby pattern, with a white belly and a white mark on her forehead. It is soft and long. She has a square face with round blue eyes. She has a warm voice and a floral scent. Oakpaw has a scar across her shoulder. She is considered handsome by most, especially in her own Clan. She is deaf.

Here she is! She and Icehop are really gonna have me researching deaf cats.

Eh- I want to submit my Oc Whispering Willow? She was named after a tree and she was born a rogue, her mother just loved long beautiful names. Her nickname is just Willow.

Discription: brownish-gray diluted white ticked shecat with silver-purple eyes and a white tail and paws. (He a scar on her hind leg from a fox trap and a scratch on her head that goes from her forehead down her neck, going over her left eye after a rogue attacked her)

Backstory: Born a loner to her mother shattered, she quickly grew to be a strong kit and even stronger ‘adult’ as she set out on her own at 5 moons. She quickly grew into hunting for herself and even fighting other loners/rogues that tried to steal her prey. She often is found in heavy forest or in a crowded twoleg space as she’s used to closure from her surrounding after being raised in a raving with tall, big tree around.

Anyway, this cat seems interesting.

The game won't let me put her name all in the first name slot. If you're okay with it, I can roll for her to get a potential name change upon joining one of the groups in Warriors of the Wild.

Creating Cats

This will be the start of a new series which will be a combination of answered asks and posts. This isn’t the first time I’ve turned making cats in CAS into a series, but it is the first time I’m using a generator for the series.

Basically, as a way of getting more sims 3 cats content, and break up the clangen posts a bit, I will choose either a submitted cat or a randomly generated cat to create in the Sims 3. Once DFD starts sacrificing cats, the reincarnated ones will also be recreated in this series.

As always, if you want to submit a cat for me to make in the Sims 3 for future use in either WotW or a future Sims 3 warriors series, feel free to send an ask or make a comment/reblog with the submission.

Please make sure your submissions are non-clanborn cats, unless specified for a particular event in a future post. Clanborn cats are very difficult to incorporate into stories of pre-existing clans, unless they are meant to be members of Starclan which I will make posts specifically asking for them in that case.

Redesigning Dapplemist's Family pt. 2

According to the poll, next up is Dapplemist's branch of the tree.

I've already gone over Dapplemist herself in part 1. She's a ticked torbie with low white and brown eyes.

Her mate is Swarmfur, a dark grey spotted tabby with green eyes. He doesn't have any white in his original design, but Birchbug has high white on one of their genotypes, so their father has to have at least a little white. That's pretty much it for him, appearance-wise.

For the sake of cats further down the line, he's also carrying for cinnamon, solid, classic, longhair, and colorpoint(aka siamese point, but I hate calling it that).

Dapplemist and Swarmfur have 3 kits. Just like Whiteear, funnily enough.

The most well-known of their kits, by which I mean they have shown up in multiple posts, is Birchbug. They were originally designed as a Dappleswarm hypokit by @lurking-in-windclan-camp. Because the original design was not made by me or the sims game, Birchbug was the only exception to my "no mutations" rule for these redesigns. Birchbug's original design can be completely possible, as long as they are a chimera.

A chimera is the result of two embryos fusing in the womb, the resulting child having two genotypes instead of one, and different areas can express one genotype or the other. This is why I said "one of Birchbug's genotypes" while talking about Swarmfur.

The first genotype gives them black fur and high white, while the second genotype gives them blue fur and low white. Both are solid, Dapplemist is carrying "a" solid from Stumpyripple, and Swarmfur can also be carry "a". Dapplemist has to be carrying "d" dilution from one of her parents(doesn't matter which) in order for one of Birchbug's genotypes to be "d/d" on the dilution allele. Both genotypes are shorthair, which could get the "L" from either parent. one genotype is carrying for classic, and one is carrying Swarmfur's "cs" for colorpoint for future reference.

Next is Paledust, she was from my sims 4 warriors destiny series that never got finished after the third child got taken away due to lag on my old computer. Paledust is a trans girl, as well as a lesbian. The sims 4 character had pale blonde hair and green eyes, so I gave her cat version cream fur. She also has low white, and long fur.

That "d" from Dapplemist makes a return, so even if Birchbug had been a fully black cat, she'd have still needed to carry for dilution to give to Paledust. Since Paledust was born X/Y, she can only receive a single "O" or "o" depending on what Dapplemist can give her, since Swarmfur gave her his "Y". Dapplemist is a tortie, so has a "O" to give her daughter to make her ginger.

She is also a heterozygous ticked tabby, so "Ta" from Dapplemist and "ta" from Swarmfur.

Both parents are carrying "l" for longhair now so that Paledust can be "l/l".

The last child is Blossomwind. Just like Paledust, she's originally from my sims 4 Warriors Destiny series. She was the child that got taken away, I believe. I drew her as a cat awhile back, where I had decided to make her mink and a torbie. I don't think she was ticked at the time, but she is now. This is also where the point genes get to come out.

Just like Dapplemist, she's a chocolate torbie. So she gets her mother's "b" for chocolate and "O" for ginger. Swarmfur can only give his "o", which makes her a tortie. She also gets a "A" from either parent to make her a tabby, and "Ta" from Dapplemist to make her ticked. She's the only Dappleswarm child without white on her, so she gets each parent's "w" instead of either's "S".

For her mink, she gets "cs" from Swarmfur and "cb" from Dapplemist. One colorpoint and one sepia point allele makes mink point, which I personally find really cool.

Anything seen in these cats that's not in the picrew(like Dapplemist's white speckles or Birchbug's whole chimerism thing) are alterations I made in MSpaint and, in my opinion, are relatively easy to replicate yourself in any art program that can paint or copy and paste.

Creating Random Cats #1: Gorsestar

GORSESTAR—a mostly white, lilac and cream spotted calico she-cat, with short fur and amber eyes.

b/?,O/o,d/d,S/S,A/?,Mc/?,Sp/?,L/?

First thing's first, Gorsestar being mostly white mean she has over 50% white spotting, which is "S/S". Then we can deal with the leftover visible color. "b" is chocolate, and then "d/d" dilutes the color to lilac. "O/o" makes her a tortie, and the "d/d" will affect both ginger and non-ginger, given us a lilac and cream tortie.

Now we can get to the pattern. "A" will display tabby patterning, "Mc" is mackerel markings, and "Sp" is a little note that this cat is spotted, a modifier of mackerel that is a combination of polygenes to form a spectrum. The picrew just has spotted or not spotted, so "Sp" helps me remember to use the spotted tabby pattern. If I ever draw these cats, I'll probably play around with just how much the stripes get broken up.

Finally, "L" is shorthair. The question marks are gaps where a recessive allele could be plugged in later down the line if needed, and any genes not written out are currently irrelevant.

Creating Random Cats #3: Marigoldstream

After rolling dice, Gorsestar and Waxwhisker have a single child for me to make.

MARIGOLDSTREAM—a black and red, mackerel tortoiseshell-tabby she-cat, with short fur, and amber eyes.

B/?,O/o,D/d,S/w,A/?,Mc/mc,sp/sp,L/?

First thing, colors. Marigoldstream is a tortie, so grab Waxwhisker's "O" and Gorsestar's "o". She's also, specifically, a black tortie, not chocolate/lilac like Gorsestar. "B" for black is dominant over "b" for chocolate, so she can't get that "B" from her mother. However, we have no idea what Waxwhisker has under his ginger, so we can give him a "B" on that locus, allowing him to pass that allele to his daughter. We don't know what allele Marigoldstream inherited from her mother, since Gorsestar could be carrying for cinnamon. So that second allele will stay blank for now.

Marigoldstream is non-dilute, which is easy. "D" from Waxwhisker and "d" from Gorsestar, who only has "d" to give.

Gorsestar is "S/S", so her daughter has to have at least a little white, and Waxwhisker is "w/w", keeping Marigoldstream from being high white. Making Marigoldstream "S/w".

She can get her "A" from either parent, "Mc" from Gorsestar, and "mc" from Waxwhisker. She's not spotted, so "sp/sp", Gorsestar and Waxwhisker are both carrying for non-spotted now. She could also get her shorthair "L" from either parent.

Creating Random Cats #2: Waxwhisker

I plan to follow Gorsestar's tree in these randomized cat creations. So the next cat is Gorsestar's mate. If you'd like to submit cats to join a specific tree, or start a whole new tree, feel free to ask, my inbox is always open. You're also free to leave a comment on these posts, if you'd rather do that.

WAXWHISKER—a short haired, red classic tabby tom, with hazel eyes.

O/Y,D/?,w/w,A/?,mc/mc,L/?

Waxwhisker is pretty simple, genetics-wise. "O" for ginger, which is sex-linked, leaving the "Y" as a marker that this cat was born male. I tend to mark in parenthesis if the cat's gender does not align with the genetics I've written out, so I know the correct pronouns and if a pairing needs a surrogate or not. As a ginger cat, we have no idea what he has on the black-based locus, which is why it's not written here. Then we have "D" for non-dilute, leaving space for a potential recessive "d" for dilution if his kids need it, "w/w" for no white on him at all, "A" for tabby, leaving space for potential recessive solid like with dilution, "mc/mc" for classic, and finally "L" for shorthair, once again leaving space for recessive longhair.

Anything not displayed does not currently matter for Waxwhisker's appearance on its own. I will make a separate post for his kids with Gorsestar, at which point any genes needed will be written out or plugged into place.
