WEEKEND ARTINGS: Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Ybor Arts Tour, Fall Fests and more
There's so much stuff happening this weekend, I almost don't know where to begin. But visual art is kind of my brand, so let's start there.
My weekend begins early, on a Thursday, with the Second Annual Ybor Arts Tour. I had a blast on the inaugural art tour last year, which took me to the historic Ybor City Kress Building, The Bricks, and HCC Ybor, all of which I plan to revisit this year. There's so much going on at this year's Ybor Arts Tour, it could be its own blog, but instead I'm going to refer you to Christopher Curry's fantastic preview in 83 Degrees. HCC Ybor City Campus, Performing Arts building, Tampa. Thurs. Oct. 19, 5-9 p.m.
Clearwater Jazz Holiday starts Thursday with a performance from The Beach Boys. The Sound, Coachman Park, Clearwater. Thurs.-Sun. Oct. 19-22.

The University of Tampa showcases artwork from legendary Tampa Bay muralist BASK in "B.A.S.K: Because Art Should Kill." Scarfone/Hartley Gallery, University of Tampa, Tampa. Opens Fri. Oct. 20, 6-9 p.m.
Tumblr media
The Florida Botanical Gardens incorporates art into its annual Pumpkin Fest with pumpkin carving, a scarecrow-making contest, and arts and crafts activities in the neighboring Creative Pinellas Galleries. Florida Botanical Gardens, Largo. Sat. Oct. 21, 12-4 p.m.
There's an art to building a haunted house and Tarpon Springs resident Kathleen Barbiere has mastered it. Barbiere builds her own props for "House on the Hill," a haunted trail that snakes through her backyard. 611 Beckett Way, Tarpon Springs. Oct. 20, 21, 27 & 28, 7:30-10:30 p.m.
