"My first Couchsurfing experience brought me this amazing shot. After a day of snowboarding in the Pyrenees, my host took me to this little lookout over the spectacular country of Andorra. The most remarkable place, where most of the population live here in the city as the rest of the country is made of mountains. Incredible."

In Beirut, a place where living is not always easy, Lina manages a rehab center, teaches French to children in the Palestinian refugee camps, and creates art projects for prison inmates. In her free time, she dresses up as a clown and does shows for the children at the Palestinian camps of Sabra and Chatila.

“There are two kinds of people,” she told me, “those who care and those who don’t.” Surely her participating in the couchsurfing community also reflects her giving spirit. By keeping a home large enough to host so many, she is constantly picking up more friends and, undoubtedly, combating the loneliness she herself used to feel.
