Westerners begging their way through travel has been in the news here, recently. As South-East Asia becomes home to more and more expats, as it's increasingly the destination for kids on their gap year or for the mistaken wanderers that don't have a better place to go, the streets of historically impoverished cities are seeing a surplus of foreign panhandlers. Authorities in Phu Quoc are in a particular bind dealing with a Russian woman begging outside of resorts; they're not exactly sure what to do with her since she's there legally. Paul was also Russian and he had been traveling for a long time. He had just made it through China from Russia and had traveled Europe and the Baltics before that. He was doing it threadbare, hitchhiking and couchcrashing where he could, pitching a tent where he couldn't. I found him playing the melodica on Hoan Kiem lake, sat square on the sidewalk, intoning his synthesized renditions of My Heart Will Go On, Still Alive, and the Legend of Zelda theme song in the misty heat. To his credit, he was causing quite a stir; he received ample donations from families walking by, those that weren't were captivated by his spectacle. He was trained in underwater robotics, although the market for his trade is slim to none; according to him, his salary as an engineer was just shy of a thousand dollars US a month, half of which went to rent. Absolutely love that fic. I love the very casual domestic interactions between Red son and Porty, I like the fact that they're not pointing out how the other got comfortable with them. I just- I can't describe it but I just really love how casual and comfortable they are with each other now.

I changed up the outfit and style a bit to give him more originality.

I might draw some of him interacting with red son as well but this is all for now.
