They operate the radiology machine, and thereafter hand over the images they take to radiologists for reading and interpretation. In addition, radiologists may issue instructions to technologists should there be need. Images from nuclear imaging examination, ultrasound, X-rays, CTPET and MRI are used in the line of work of radiologists. They then give their recommendations after they have interpreted the images for the next step for the patient to take. The next step may be any action such as going for further examination if necessary. In addition, radiologists determine the type of imaging examination that technologies employ. Radiologists come up with radiology reports for other practitioners as well. Radiologists also work as consultants by referring doctors in choosing the best treatment options. Consultancy services are provided by diagnostic radiologists. To see inside the bodies of patients, special imagining procedures are applied by diagnostic radiologists. This is done as a way of diagnosing or assessing the problem. Other researches about the application of radiation and clinical work are also done by these specialists. As for interventional radiologists, they are involved in diagnosis and treatment of patients using imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures. These procedures are better replacements for traditional surgery as they offer less recovery time, pain, and risk. Some of the minimally invasive techniques involve the use of MRI and X-rays. Some of the conditions they treat are uterine fibroids, cancer, and heart diseases. Another group of these experts are known as radiation oncologists. Radiation oncologists ate highly trained medical doctors. Mostly, they are involved in prescribing and overseeing of treatment plans for cancer patients. They treat cancer using radiation and are actively involved in monitoring the progress of their patients. They adjust treatment plans accordingly after monitoring the progress of a patient to ensure they receive appropriate health care treatment. Everyone understands the dangers or risks that radiation can pose. As such, people working with them must understand how to deal with them safely and the appropriate ways of protecting others from their harm. It is for this reason that radiologists are adequately trained and have deeper understanding of rays and radiations. It takes around 13 years of post-college training for one to become a radiologist.

They must also know the right ways to guard others form their adverse impacts. Therefore, radiologists are sufficiently trained for this reason. They have deeper knowledge of rays and radiations. To be a radiologist, one needs about 13 years of post-college training.
