TOP PICK @usnatarchives -the TEDDY BEAR! In 1902, President Teddy Roosevelt refused to shoot an old bear during a hunting trip. Political cartoonist Clifford K. Berryman transformed the haggard bear into a cute, cuddly “teddy bear”—named for the President. The image became a recurring symbol in Berryman's work and gave rise to the popular toy “Teddy’s Bear”!
