Much like irl, cleaning things up on tumblr means finding fun stuff along the way (and then proceeding to ignore the actual cleaning to play with the thing we found, obviously). In this case, it was an ask about whether an isekai'd Overseer!reader would be judged by Furina upon arriving in Fontaine.
Now, in light of 4.2, I 100% stand by what I said in my answer of that ask. However, I would like to add...
While Furina would judge us for the theatrics of it, Neuvillette would do it for real.
Unlike Furina, who would use anything she can, like how she did with the Traveller, Neuvillette would be judging us for actually serious accusations - possession (taking over someone's body is... Not Seen As Good generally), disturbance of international affairs (making the leaders of nations dissappear for days on end to go on quests would no doubt be an issue), aggravated assault (do you know how many fatui, treasure hoarders, kairagi, eremites, and etc we've beaten up? Yeah...), possible association with Celestia (we might be innocent, we might not - who's to say? Not me, I'm not Hoyoverse nor the Oratrice), bringing forth calamity (if the player doesn't move forward with the story, the events don't unfold - so, we knowingly and willingly bring disasters upon the places we visit for the sake of watching it play out)...
Well, at least we can teleport out of jail.
TLDR - if it's Furina putting you on trial, you can have fun playing courthouse and enjoying the drama of it all. If it's Neuvillette... run.
#now I want to write an actual trial aaaaa#let the hydro dragon judge ALL the gods#pulling up to Meropide with the archon crew#cube.rambles#sagau#sagau neuvillette

I can see it depending on personalities and on the characters themselves tbh. It's an interesting thing about hsr - they have different perspectives on the Aeons (Yaoshi my controversial beloved) and other entities based on cultural and personal experiences and that is actually shown. Since hsr characters are familiar with videogames, though, it is easier for them to grasp the concept of what is actually going on. It is possible that some may see you as a sort of Aeon or spirit, some seriously and others for the meme (*cough* the trailblazer *cough*).
The first thought that comes to mind is that Silver Wolf has immediately gained a kindred spirit. Someone who also understands that the world is a game? Finally!
She'd 100% be the most talkative and the most nonchalant. Reality is a game, of course there's people playing. And if they happen to be chill, well, she's more than happy to lend a hand. Befriend your local Silver Wolf, y'all. She's onto you. Idk enough stellaron hunter lore to know whether she'd share it with the others, but this girl would know what's up.
The Trailblazer now uses you as an excuse for anything. Dan Heng and March wonder what the Trailblazer keeps looking for in the belobog dumpsters? Not their fault, it's definitely you who insists on investigating. They put their feet up on the couch and Pompom is panicking? You made them do it. They keep flirting with everyone? Clearly, your doing. They introduced themselves as something super dramatic and largely innacurate? Guess who's to blame. "The devil made me do it but I also kinda wanted to" vibes from them. Like yes, those are things they would've been naturally inclined to do or say... but it was totally, definitely the MyStErIoUs SpAcE bEiNg that made them do it. They will 100% think you're the Stellaron that is inside them at first. (I love the fact that we can just. Fuel the trailblazer's dumbass energy. Like hell yes eat garbage for the achievement. We're basically their intrusive thoughts at this point and we are winning.)
If you end up being considered an Aeon, oh boy. Prepare for the weirdest Simulated Universe encounter. Imagine pulling up to one of the worlds and

If that is the case, Herta is most likely smug about the fact that you get her for free, because essentially she gets unlimited access regardless of whether you pulled her or not. I wonder which type of blessings ya'll's Paths would have...
Idk enough stellaron hunter lore to base this on more than "sounds cool idk" BUT. Keeping in line with my interpretation of sagau, I'm gonna say that the player as an Aeon would be considered the kind of entity responsible for making events come to pass. (If you don't play the game, Kafka doesn't put the stellaron in the Trailblazer's body, no one defends the Herta Space Station from the Antimatter Legion, Bronya never discovers the truth, etcetera that I will not list to not spoil the game for anyone). This ties in with the whole "slave of destiny" thing Elio has. One of the player's Aeon titles could very well be "Bringer of Destiny" or "The Fate Enforcer" (kinda like Yaoshi is seen as "The Plagues Author" and Lan is "The Reignbow Arbiter"). Either way, the Stellaron Hunters are rocking with us for now. Silver Wolf knows the truth, Kafka is the first person we meet and the first person we help/guide/control in the game...
The Xianzhou's Divination Commission classifies the Aeons into three groups: "The Arbiters," who determine mortal births and deaths, and are highly connected to the rise and fall of civilizations, "The Sacrosancts," who are difficult to predict as good or evil, and "The Authors of Calamity," who are seen as the main culprits behind all disaster. With this in mind, I'd wager that you would fall somewhere along the Sacrosancts, but one can never be sure. After all, who's to say that the disruptive arrival of a force that sets catastrophe in motion just by existing wouldn't be immediately placed among the last group? I do believe that it'd depend on the way each of us as players interacts with the world.
sum thoughts about sahsrau, like would they hate your guts for stuff, idk or would they think of you as an Aeon?? It probably depends on your personalities or smth like that :P
#sahsrau#self aware honkai star rail#cube.rambles#this time it's REALLY rambling bc while i am still new to the game I have insane brainrot

OVERSEER BRAINROT
(This is like. Me rambling. This is poorly explained and my grasp on the canon lore is iffy but this is just how I imagine/will write the Overseer - aka the player - in SAGAU. This perspective will likely change as I understand more of the lore, but for now, here's some crumbs.)
Overseer whose role is, more than simply observing, to keep the canon going.
Experiencing the story, and that includes collecting characters and learning of their lore, exploring the world, building our teapot, etc is our reward for playing our role - and our role is to push the story forward. It doesn't progress without us. We're not Teyvat's creator, but we are the one making each of our worlds move (we're the mover we're the shaker we're the headline maker). If we did not take action, the twins never would've been separated - they would've stayed forever in that choosing screen, held permanently in that moment. If we had not chosen to walk forward and touch the statue, the Traveler would never have gotten the Anemo elemental powers. Would've never helped Dvalin. Signora would've never taken Venti's gnosis. Rex Lapis would never have "died". Every single other major event wouldn't happen.
The player is the being that makes the Canon Events happen - not directly, but through making sure that the story progresses. (Miguel O'Hara theme plays in the background.) And this can happen at whichever speed we decide.
Now, while the fact that we are the ones making the story go by could be used to argue that the Overseer would be the one to make the passage of time, that is not quite true. The days in Teyvat do not depend on the story progression. Months can pass before those two Fatui in Mondstadt (I love them) have any new gossip to share about current events, or they can pass through five new topics in a span of days, depending on how fast the player runs through the quests. Time is not the deciding factor in these characters' fates. It doesn't matter how long it's been since Signora died - Viktor (the Fatui guy at the Cathedral) will not be stationed at his new post unless the player finishes his comission. Teppei's condition won't worsen with time, either. If we don't continue the quest, we can stand next to him for weeks in game before he passes. Thus, I propose that the Overseer is more of a god of Fate (not to mention, the god of time position is taken). To add to this, the things we use to pull for characters are called Fates. Intertwined Fates, Acquaint Fates, both circle back to the same idea. Hangouts can be seen as a sort of exploration of this power - with the ability to choose one of five or six fates for that character (if only Character Quests had that too). It is, however, one of the few times we have control over which version of the story is told. Otherwise, we are mostly the energy that moves it along.
It's not just that it's a canon event and we cannot interfere - it's that it is literally our purpose to make sure it happens, even if we don't like it. We're here to witness and progress the story - and bad things can happen in stories, regardless of what the characters in it want. So right now I am having some Villain Overseer brainrot, not because they want to be evil on purpose, but because some character decides to pull a Miles Morales and say "I'mma do my own thing" and mess up the story's flow. For someone trying to change the course of the story, the force that pushes events forward is obviously Not Good. I can see Fontaine characters seeing the Traveler's arrival as an ill omen, a sign that the prophecy will come true. They're divided, because on one hand, the Traveler has a good reputation, someone helpful, kind, a hero. But the Overseer's attention signifies that events will inevitably unfold. So Lyney invites them to be part of a show. Furina threatens to arrest the Traveler. Navia asks them out for tea. As long as they can keep the Overseer's attention on other matters, the event they dread won't happen. (I won't talk much abt Neuvillette rn becayse spoilers)
Enter eventual Arlechinno boss fight (it hasn't happened yet, but I do hope we get one) - she's the one who tries to fight the Traveler head on, to personally put a stop to it once and for all. Perhaps the Overseer has no ill will, but that doesn't matter. Not when their presence means that the clock is ticking faster and faster every day.
Now for a more lighthearted thought, Isekai'd Overseer who doesn't really have a concept of urgency. No important event will occur without them present, so they have no qualms in arriving on the day after the scheduled date, confident that as long as it is between 18:00 - 23:00 the reservation will still be placed and people will be at their seats as if it was always meant to be that way.
So the Overseer walks into a bar, with a face too fresh for someone who hasn't slept in what the people of Teyvat percieve to have been months, just coming in from the Spiral Abyss, and asks the bartender where their friends are.
"I don't know? Master Kaeya usually shows up at this hour, but the rest of your usual group is probably tending to their affairs."
"Odd. They were supposed to be here by now. We had a big dinner planned." The person in front of him, who Charles is more and more sure definitely looks somewhat off in a way he can't quite pinpoint, seems confused. "There was a reservation and everything. In Kaeya's name, I believe."
"Well, I'm sorry, but the last reservation Master Kaeya placed here was a month ago."
"Again, weird. He said he was going to place one. Oh, well. When the others get here, just let them know I'll be on one of the big tables upstairs, alright? And you can put everything on my tab."
#i would very much like to know whether the traveler/paimon/player has ties to celestia#but judging by the fact that neuvillette is chill with us I'd say that if we do then the dragon sovereigns dont know#Speaking of the sovereigns I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THEM#sagau#genshin sagau#self aware genshin au#genshin impact sagau#cube.rambles#this is all over the place but I wanted to get my overseer brainrot going

On one hand I understand not making the Aeons playable makes them seem even more powerful and otherwordly, and also gives Hoyo more creative freedom with their designs.
On the other I would sell my soul, my firstborn, and both kidneys for Yaoshi on my team.
#crying screaming throwing up at the fact that we side against The Abundance#LIKE NO LET ME WORSHIP MY SANCTUS MEDICUS IN PEACE#me joining the cult like ''are you here for immortality'' ''screw that I just wanna see Yaoshi''#this while also choosing The Hunt in simulated universe all the time. the irony. the pain.#but still. lorewise I got beef with The Alliance. leave my aeon ALONE they did nothing wrong ever#''oh they cursed us'' bbg you cursed yourselves don't ask for rain and cry because you're wet#if Yaoshi has no defenders I am DEAD BURIED AND BRICKED#cube.rambles

Doing Yoimiya's story quest and screaming mentally because of the importance played by star showers.
(Mini-spoilers under the cut)
But also the idea that they can just. Jump onto the stars? I loved it. The cutscene was SO BEAUTIFUL IM- Honestly, I wish character quests were replayable. Anyway, I always imagined the stars as being something that could fit in a hand, maybe hover above it a little, perhaps the size of a mango, mostly because I love the imagery of the intertwined fates being something that we as players (or as Overseers in SAGAU terms) toss into the sky and that the characters catch (or run away from), but the idea of them just. Hitching a ride also seems fun. The "coming home" thing hits different this way, I like it. I think I might fuse both in my interpretation of SAGAU (because I am still very much invested in the "toss that fate like a baseball" version).
#cube.rambles#sagau#does this count as sagau yoimiya? probably not but now I need to write something abt her#because I did get her#and she would fit so well into a Character Coming Home style fic especially after that story quest

Though I have been too busy with work to write in these last few days (oof) I just want to say that the Skirk brainrot is real. Sure, her design was unexpected, but she won me over. I'm in love.
There is nothing in the sagau skirk or skirk x reader tags I'm- PLEASE LET ME BE GAY (without having to do it myself bc I already have so many things to write).
#me grabbing skirk and arlechinno after this patch like ''let's go lesbians let's go''#look I LOVE her leg thingies. I had galaxy print leggings back in the day. i still have them.#and also... new element??? hello#skirk is really pretty and i'm tired of pretending she's not. did i expect smth more beidou-like for her design? yes. do I love her? yes.#''it fails as a pet'' I love her.#also I would 100% keep that narwhal as a pet idc if it fails at it it's CUTE#cube.rambles

Hi, I hope you're doing well in work, life, and anything else.
With the release of Arlecchino coming close, I briefly remember from your old blog that you wanted to write about the Harbingers' thoughts regarding the Overseer. Do you still have any interest in that nowadays?
If you're not, or if I was misremembering or making you uncomfortable, please ignore this ask.
🚬Anon
Hey 🚬Anon! I've been doing great - things are hectic as always, but I can proudly say that I am happier and healthier than I've ever been. I hope the same can be said for you!
I do still want to write about the Harbingers! Arlecchino's release was what awakened my genshin hyperfixation again, and I most definitely plan on doing something with her. I think for now I'm going to pick up the Harbingers we know (Childe, Signora, Scaramouche, Arlecchino, and a little tidbit of Dottore), and work more in as I go along. Arlecchino is so interesting as a character - I can't wait to max her friendship so I can get all the lore crumbs I can find.

Are you feeling better Cube?
🚬anon
Yepyep! Almost full recovery (my sense of taste is still gone even though I am no longer covid positive), though lately I have been busy with uni, my job, and protesting. I think this next week will be softer on me though, so I might be able to get back on track! Thank you for checking in on me, that means a lot ^^
