I’ve talked before about where I got the idea for the character, but honestly I just really wanted to write another oc. I had @cvnnibvlquccn before, and I loved writing her, but it didn’t stick, I guess. I had the idea for Edith on and off, gave her a blog for a minute and then deleted it when no one showed interest. I brought her back because I lost muse for a canon character I was writing for over a year and that hit me in such a weird way I just needed to do something really different. So... Here we are!

the song is rly short but manages to encompass that feeling of a girl thrust into popularity who is trying so hard to keep her position in the social hierarchy while also hating the things that come along with it. it’s a really good look into jess’s anxiety and depression before she knows what she’s dealing with

there are so many goddamn songs that im like “THATS RACHEL !!!” but the original one that really inspired me in creating this blog and used to focus a lot of my tags and shit on when i first made my rach a year ago is Teen Idle by Marina and the Diamonds. honestly, the entirety of the Electra Heart album by Marina is literally rachel in my opinion lmfaooo. I feel like Teen Idle spoke to the overall sort of contrasting and conflicting ideas and emotions in Rachel and I used a lot of what I gathered from that song and that entire album when I first started to characterize her -- especially these four lines.

i’d like to imagine that she lives a full life, that she’s able to find somebody that she loves and settle down with them. she’d like to get her daughter back and live with her again, to be able to give her the life that she couldn’t before. 

how long she actually lives definitely depends on the verse/who she’s around. if she’s left on her own with her self destructive behaviour, she would probably end up doing something stupid and not live much longer past 30.
