sweeney todd round 3 details (nicholas christopher, delaney westfall, joe locke) 🥹

- first of all, a huge congratulations to the adorable and ungodly talented joe locke on an amazing broadway debut. when he started singing in pirelli’s i said “holy shit he sounds REALLY good” out loud. that VOICE!!! his voice is so beautiful, his accent and movements were perfect, and he really just nailed it overall. his ‘not while i’m around’ actually destroyed me. he sang it so gorgeously IN THE OBC KEY and was so genuinely our courageous, protective, vulnerable little guy. at the end he hugged mrs lovett and collapsed into her lap and i just melted :,,)

- AHHH nik and delaney. they are so good together!!!! they give such a classic sweeney and lovett vibe because they read as literally insane. just absolutely unhinged little devils. they know exactly what they’re doing and they enjoy it. it’s definitely a contrast to josh and annaleigh who read more as normal people who got themselves into an insane situation.

- delaney… omg. she’s a gorgeous little thing but she is fierce. she’s loud, brash, maternal, and sexy all at once. she’s very belty and she has this beautiful BEAUTIFUL vibrato. her lovett was super energetic and scrappy and tough as nails. but her love for nik’s sweeney was so softening and beautiful. she felt like a lansbury x ashford hybrid and i adored it.

- nik was absolutely wonderful. i loved that his sweeney sounds much more australian than british, it kind of makes him stranger and more mysterious. he was cold and angry and often stoic so he was definitely more unsettling than josh. and still, sometimes he’d let those delicious little peaks into his love shine through. i felt for him and absolutely believed him. but he really was chilling. his movements, his anger, his sadness, his MANIC MOMENTS!!! holy shit. everyone was screaming for a whole minute after his epiphany because it really was crazy. on “nor a hundred can assuage me i will have you” HE WENT UP A WHOLe STEP AND BELTED IT OUT HELLO he was fucking terrifying.

- whenever he and mrs. lovett are sharing an intimate little moment and someone walks in, nik really snaps up and tries to act normal. it makes them look so suspicious and i love it 👀

- the jump into hell really really got me today idk why. it always hits, but today it just made me burst into tears and start screaming my head off. them finally surrendering to eachother and just taking that final leap together. idk. it went really hard.

- daniel torres was on as pirelli and he’s gotta be in my top 3 fav ensemble members so i was SUPER excited. and he devoured. SO flamboyant and vocals were excellent.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named kathryn, she is 17 years old, a senior high school student at Ateneo de Manila University. She is very famous in there campus, because of her angelic face, nice attitude and she has white skin. In short she is very an ideal type of girl. She is also one of the top students in there school, because of her high grades and extra curricular activities. She had a boy bestfriend named Daniel. He is tall, moreno and handsome. He is one of the famous boys in there campus. He is a varsity player in volleyball. He is very caring and humble person, he is very kind person and most importantly he is gentleman. In short he is an ideal type of boy. He is sometimes badboy. Because of her attitude and physical appearance, many girls in there campus has a crush on him. Daniel and kathryn are bestfriends since they were grade schools. Because they were neighbors,since then daniel and kathryn are classmates since grade school to senior high school. But secretly kathryn likes daniel. It’s starts when they were first year high school. Kathryn slowly liking daniel because they always see each other everyday. Because of the attitude of Daniel, kathryn admires him alot. When kathryn is sad, daniel is always right beside her to cheer her up. He is always right there for her to take care of her. But she didn’t want daniel to know that she likes him. Because shes scared on what things might gonna happen next or in the future, or what consequences will she faced if she will confessed her feelings towards daniel. That’s why she keep that secret.But her cousin Julia and her parents know about it. In her room,under her bed,there was a small box. Inside was her diary, letters about daniel and all of there pictures together are there. Eveytime she opened that box and write a letter about Daniel makes her blushed. (One afternoon on the hallway of their campus) While kathryn was walking with her friends. Daniel run fast towards them. And screams kathryn’s name, so that kathryn will notice him. I like samantha Kathryn: (shocked) ohh yahh samantha (fake smile) Daniel holds kathryn’s hand and say “ kath! Im really hoping that you will help me to court her, if its ok to you my best friend?” Kathryn: if its for you and if your happy with it why not?im your bestfriend now and forever...even if there’s no forever( laughs) Daniel: there is forever for us right my bestfriend? Kathryn: ofcourse dj, just call my name and Im always right beside you ( smile and hugs Daniel) After that conversation they both went home and still kathryn cant move on, she still remembers the things daniel told her. Kathryn: why not me?(she cry)she get her diary from her box and she wrote all the things happened on that day. Afterwards she feel asleep because shes tired and sad. Samantha is there schoolmate since high school. She looks sweet girl but she has a bad attitude but everytime daniel is arround she just turned to pabebe. Many girls doesn’t like her because of her bad attitude. She is the cheercaptain of the cheerdance of there campus. So it means Daniel and samantha merely see each other everytime they have a practice on the covered court. (After 3 years) Many things had changed on there lives. Daniel and kathryn didn’t see much because they were busy on there study. They are now 2nd year college. Kathryn took up secondary education manor in english, while daniel took up a engineering. After a year of courting, samantha and daniel are now together. Because of being a charming and gentlemen of daniel, samantha fell in love to him. Kathryn helps daniel to court samantha , she is the one making the gifts, brainstorming the ideas on how will daniel courts samantha. Daniel doesn’t know that kathryn is hurt, she is in pain she cried every night, but still then he helped daniel court samantha. Until samantha said yes to daniel. The ideas that kathryn planned are the things the she hope daniel will do it to her. Everytime kathryn see daniel and samantha in the campus shes in pain but she just thinks that she should be happy because daniel is happy as a bestfriend. If daniel is happy then kathryn should be happy for him too. One day,Kathryn clean her room, because her cousin julia will come back home from USA. Kathryn and Julia are very closed cousins, since they were kids until now. Kathryn shared all her secrets, problems in life and also Julia knows all about Daniel. Julia is 1 year younger than her. It’s exactly 11:00 am that day. After kathryn cleaned her room, she decided to take a bath. She didn’t know that daniel will come to there house. When daniel is already outside there house, he rings the door bell, then Kathryn’s mom is the one who opened the gate becaue there maid’s is at a vacation. Daniel: Hi tita Goodmorning (with a big smile) he hugs kathryns mom Mom: Oh Dj Hello goodmorning also,you’re so gwapo and tall ha. Mom: Long time no see Dj. How are you now? Daniel: Well tita, Im still cute and handsome(laughs) just kidding tita, Im fine tita thankyou for asking. Daniel: Is kathryn inside tita? Mom: Yes, I think shes in her room Daniel: Can I go to her tita? i just need to see her, because we didn’t see and talk each other that much in school. Mom: Oh really?just go inside, I will just lock the gate, then I will cook for our lunch. Daniel: Ok tita Thanks! Daniel went to Kathryns room, when his already inside. Daniel: Kath?Kath? Are you there? (Inside the restroom) When kathryn is taking a bath, she heared a voice, kathryn knows whos that voice is. Kathryn: Dj? Is that you? Daniel: Yep yep, I’ll just wait here kath ok? Kathryn was surprised because Daniel went to their house to see her. It’s been a long time since Daniel go to kathryns house. While Daniel is waiting, he sit down to kathryns bed, while he looks around the room. He noticed a small box at the table. Because its very colorful and small he get it without even knows that all things inside the box is all about him. Kathryn is still at the restroom while daniel opened the box. When he gets the first letter he reads it. After be reads that, he then reads all the letter. Daniel: whattttt? (Confused) kathryn likes me?( whispered to him self) He then saw all the pictures of them with a description at the back.He is confused.Daniel asked him self Daniel: But why? Why didn’t she tell me? Last 3 years when they were at there 2nd year college. Kathryn and her parents decided to buy a new house and it simply means that kathryn will transfer from another. After they transfer from there new house. Kathryn and Daniel didn’t see each other, they have no phone calls at all because she threw away her sim card so daniel will no longer call her, she ended there communication.She had no hard feelings towards Daniel but She think it is better if they have no communication, she wants to move on to all those things happened in her life, and she wants to move on to daniel too. One day, Daniel was assigned near where kathryn was working. Daniel was new to that place because it is way too there house.The workplace of daniel was a bit near to where kathryn is working. Its lunch time, Daniel with his workmates decided to buy there lunch at the university near there workplace, it is where kathryn is working.Some of Daniels workmates told him that they always eat and but there lunch at the university since it is yummy and affordable.While entering the gate, They walk at the hallway, Daniel look around, when he suddenly saw a tarpaulin with the pictures of the new comers teachers.When he is looking the tarpaulin he suddenly noticed a girl, Daniel: is that kath?(he whispered) When she saw the picture of kathryn he seems very happy and excited to see her since their workplace and the university is very near. He can visit kathryn anytime he wants. But his problem now is to find kathryn in the university. After they buy there lunch they decided to go back to their office to eat their lunch while going out Daniel told himself Daniel: I hope we see each other again kath (smile) I will find a way to find you (After 1 week) He decided to visit the university since he has now the confidence to face kathryn again. He ask some of the students in the campus. Daniel: Hi goodmorning! Do you know Ms.Kathryn? Student 1: Oh hi sir Goodmorning also. Wait who?Ms.kathryn?(student1 look at student 2) Students2: Oh Ms. Kathryn Bernardo the new teacher of the campus. Student 1: oh I remembered Ms. Kathryn is the new teacher. Daniel: Oh great! Actually Im finding her, where is her room number or office by the way? Student 2: 3rd floor at SAC building near the cafeteria I think its room number 134 Daniel: Oh that building at the left?(he pointed the SAC building) Student 1: Yes sir Daniel: ok thanks guys God Bless Student 1&2: No problem sir have a great day! Daniel went to the building to find kathryn. When he is already at the first floor he whispered to himself. Daniel: Im here kath ( smile) The school is having a class since it is 10 am.When he is already at the front room 134 he peek out in the window to see if kathryn is there. When there is only the students he opened the door and go inside. He asked the students. Daniel: Hi guys Goodmorning!where is Ms.Kathryn Students: Goodmorning sir Student 1: He is at her office sir,she just get something then she will be back. Daniel: Oh really?Thankyou guys Students: Your welcome sir When daniel closed the door,he turned left and saw a girl walking towards him, since the girl was far,he can’t see clearly the face,when the girl is near towards him , that face is very familiar to him. Daniel: Kath? Kathryn: Dj?is that you? Daniel waits until the last class of Kathryn. It is already 3 pm (in the room where there is only the two of them) Daniel: how are you Maam Kathryn?(laughs) Daniel: Its been years since the last day we see each other. Kathryn: Yes its been so long since we see each other Dj, By the way what are you now? Daniel: Well Iam now a engineer at private company.Im really happy now that I see you again after a years. By the way where did you go?why didn’t you tell me kath? I worried a lot, I searched you on facebook but I cant see your account, Ive call you a lot of times but you didn’t answer. I ask many people but then they didn’t also know where did you go.Why did you leave without me knowing that your leaving? Kathryn: Theres so many things happened in the past years Dj,right? Daniel: I realized that if could only bring back time I hope I choose you kath rather than samantha. My Once on this Island Experience 2!!

I saw Once on This Island for my second time August 12th at 7:30 pm. There were a few casting differences: T. Oliver Reed was Agwe, Merle Dandrige was Papa Ge, Darlesia Cearcy was Erzulie, Loren Lott was Ti Moune, and Boise Holmes was TonTon!

🌴 So this time I was sitting in the second row of Papa Ge’s section (I got to step in the sand i died) the view was sooo incredibly different and I loved being so close.( Right next to me was where the actors kept their water so sometimes the run back and get a quick sip 😆) I think I enjoyed my seat more the first time. I’ll tak about why later on

🌴 So it was so cool bc I was so close to the front I got to talk to David Jennings and Cicily Daniels for a minute. I love the beginning of the show because you wouldn’t even know you’re about to see a show. It’s so natural.

🌴 Alex came out and immediately went to his little cooking station and started frying food. Idk what he was cooking but when he lifted the top off there was steam and it smelled REALLY GOOD. He talked to the audience in front of it. Behind him was the table with the table cloth on it.

🌴 Isaac comes out holding a ton of stuff and I could see all the muscles in is arm I was shook.

🌴 When papa Ge came out with the goat I died a little. She’s so HOT WTF. You could FEEL how pissed off she was. Because I was so close I could see Merle’s facial expressions and she didn’t give off the same cheerful positive vibes that the rest of them did.

🌴Honest to god I fricking love when there’s that giant crack of thunder. That marks the start of the show and the actors are no longer joking or talking with you and you realize how serious the situation is.

🌴 The actress who plays big Ti Moune (in this case Loren) also plays her mother at the beginning

🌴 This time I was close enough that I got to watch how they slowly transform into the gods. Agwes and Erzuled were the same but I noticed that Asaka is buttoning (?) the skirt to her shirt. And Papa Ge sliced her hand with a dagger and then swipes it on her face.

🌴 yes Isaac Powell is a GOD and THE BODY ROLL

🌴 I love Agwe so much he’s so amazing and arguably the most important god because none of this would have happened without his storm

🌴 I love the gods heard her prayer. The gods are so FUNNY even papa Ge lol.

🌴 The VOICE Asaka does when she says “the peasent girl wants ...”

🌴 When Asaka says a juicy mango, Agwe gets close to her and (kinda sexually) pinched her waist and she slaps him away with her fan.

🌴 when they said drop the mango, Alex bent so far back I thought he was gonna snap in half lol

🌴 t. Oliver reed was such an amazing Agwe wow. Like he reminds me of Q more then he reminds me of Norm. Norm was amazing (and probably my favorite) but he didn’t sound like the other two.

🌴 So from where I was sitting I was able to see Agwes entrance. It was very foggy and it looks like rapids. The water was moving intensely to imitate a storm.

🌴 from papa ges angle the car in rain was compleatly different. The back part of the car fell off first.

🌴 I inhaled so much fog during rain it was great lolol

🌴 at the beginning of pray Isaac was convulsing on the ground as Loren sung to him.

🌴 the peasants come up and make a circle around them and papa Ge is constantly lurking around it

🌴 I STILL don’t get the lighting for this part of the show. It’s so cool and sOmE SAy that it is supposed to represent the days going by but I didn’t really take away thay message. The lights are purple and red and those are the colors I associate with papa Ge, I assumed it was to represent the sadness and anxiety around the whole situation

🌴 When Julian arrives at the hotel beauxhomme the hold hold him at gunpoint

🌴 After Pray they say ‘Because of lack of sleep Her mind began wondering further from reality and into her dreams’

🌴 FOREVER YOURS. So I finally realized what happened. So during the insane lighting of Pray, Papa Ge and Daniel switch spots. When papa Ge leaves you can’t see her face so you wouldn’t know that it was actually Daniel. Since I was so close to the front I was able to see a teeny bit of isaacs Chest so I knew it was him 😆

🌴 he comes out from the other side to sing with Ti Moune but there’s still someone in her bed. When papa Ge starts singing she hops out of Daniels bed and he falls back down on it, unconscious.

🌴 the ensemble is sitting in a circle around them holding candles.

🌴 when Ti Moune trades her life papa Ge gestures to her almost like she’s pulling her life out and Ti Moune was gasping for air.

🌴I’m going to be compleatly honest with you. The sad tale of the beauxhommes is MUCH better for the other side of the stage. I was in agwes section at first so I could only see shadows. In papa ges section, you are on the same side as you are so you can see the shadows but you can also see the people making it and it’s nowhere near as cools.

🌴 When Armand curses his family , he goes to the other side of the sheet and papa Ge takes his place. So if your in agwes section you’ll be able to see papa Ges shadow

🌴 when the curtain falls, Daniel is on his knees in front of it. And the peasants/ beauxhommes pick up the sheet and they spit on him

🌴 Ti Moune is the saddest song ever

🌴 When Ti Moune says she wants to go and that Daniels heart beats for her Mama LAUGHED and her and was shaking her head in disbelief.

🌴 At the end of the song TonTon reaches out to Ti Moune but she doesn’t see it because had already run away :(

🌴 MAMA SAID SHE WAS GONNA PROVIDE AND SHE FUCKING DIDDDIDID

🌴 when Alex sings ‘WAaaOH” he screams into this poor (lucky) woman’s ear and she whipped her head so face lolol and when Loren walked by she patted the woman’s head apologetically

🌴 At the end of the song Alex grabbed Loren’s face and pulled it to her chest it was precious

🌴 Mama Will Provide (reprise) was so cuteee and it transitioned into some say as she was holding that super long note she ran off stage. For most of the time she wasn’t on stage for this song

🌴 When Ti Moune reaches the city there were a ton of city noises and the lights were so pretty

🌴 During Some Say they begin setting up Daniels room so like the crates became the post and legs for his bed

🌴 he comes down the stairs by erzulies side and he is on a crutch. Even though his leg is bandages you can see the red makeup around it making it look inflamed.

🌴 He goes to lie down on his bed and he leaps back because Ti Moune climbed through his window. He threatened to call the guards and Ti Moune was talking about how she healed him and bathed him and she prayed to the gods. And Daniel said “WHAT CAN YOU AND YOUR FAIRYTALES FIX THAT DOCTORS CANT, LITTLE GIRL”

🌴 Erzule appeared in the corner and it was like she was she put Daniel under a spell and he says “Alright you can stay. What harm could it to” and Darleisa starts singing and I died

🌴 I really REALLY loved Darlesias voice. Idk if I liked her more than Leas because it’s so hard to compare. Lea has a much lighter, saprano voice and Darlesia has more of a belty mixed type voice. It was beautiful whatever it was and it made me cry

🌴 once again; GLITTER FELL FROM THE CEILING as Daniel and Ti Moune made out. Daniel gently flipped her over and went down on top of her as the song ended

🌴 Gossip. So Daniel and Ti Moune were being really cute in bed and they were all around them.

🌴 He runs into Armand who looks like he came from the country club. He pointed his bad mitten racket at Daniel ask he sings.

🌴 Daniel goes straight from his father to look in the Mirror and that’s where he starts singing Some Girls.

🌴 From Papa Ges section isaacs back is facing you but you can see his face in the reflection of the mirror. he is closest to agwes section

🌴 There was a mirror on the other side of the stage (close to me in papa ges section.) and Andrea is looking through it. At some point isaac Walks over and looks in the same mirror but on the other side

🌴 when he sang “you face the world through a child wide eyes” Agwe had a light attached to the end of a fishing pole and Ti Moune Followed it like it was a firefly

🌴 At the end of the song they hug and Andrea is starring at them

🌴 At about this time, Agwe takes off his beard.

🌴 Chandeliers fall from the ceiling for the ball.

🌴 When they say “Dancing to their own little tune” during the The Ball, the servants said it with a giant smile and they turned around and rolled their eyes.

🌴 Daniel was dancing with Andrea and it was so fucking fucnny. Daniel was holding her as far away from him as he could and his smile looked like he wanted to die

🌴 Since I was so close, I was able to see how Ti Moune was walking when she came in. She was walking in the sides of her feet so the heels were pointing inwards.

🌴 Her Dance once again was the cute. She took of her shoes and I can’t even describe the dance it was beAUTIFUl. It’s so fun to watch all the servents join in and all the grandhommes freaked the fuck out. Armand was so mAD at Daniel and at first Daniel was kinda discouraged but then he took of his jacket and joined in. At the end of the dance they are all facing Andrea and bowing down to Andrea

🌴 Papa Ge was standing in a corner (close to me) and she was blowing out all the candles.

🌴 It was so heart breaking because Ti Moune was smiling so biG and Andrea told her she was going to marry Daniel her face just droPPED it was so sad.

🌴 i fucking love papa Ge. She’s such a badass. When she says “now your life is forever mine” she almost drags ti Moune over. It’s like she’s sucking the life out of her. Ti Moune is gasping for arm and she screams please don’t.

🌴 the ensemble is in a circle around them. They are moaning and crying. Erzulie and papa Ge are circling her when Ti Moune has a knife. She physically was struggling to put the knife anywhere near Daniel. When she dropped it he turned around and picked it up and he looked so hurt. She told him that she loved him and she tried to kiss him but he ran off stage.

🌴 Ti Moune is cast out of the hotel beauxhommes. The ensemble members moved the gates around to block Ti Moune. Basically they were throwing sand and spitting on her. Her dress became more and more ripped. Andrea and Daniel come through the isle on the right side of Agwes section. They opened the gates to let them through. They threw three coins lol. Ti Moune calls Danile and he looks so sad. I loved being so close because it helped me appreciate Daniels character a little more. I still don’t like him, but I was able to see the emotion painted on his face. He walked to Ti Moune and handed her a coin and Andrea calls him and he leaves, subtly wiping his face. Ti Moune looks at the coin. And drops it. And slowly lays down and died.

🌴 As if papa Ge realizes that she has been defeated, she breaks her stair with erzulie and runs of stage. I wasn’t sure but it looked like she was crying.

🌴 One of the servants starts singing a part of us and she slowly starts taking off the servents clothes. She reveals that’s she’s mama euralie. Next TonTon takes off his servants clothes and joins her.

🌴 Erzulie used her powers to stand Ti Moune up. Agwe grabs her hand and twirls her and she rests her back gently on his chest with her arms folded in front of her. He slowly sits her up and Papa Ge outstretched her arm and she walks into it and leads her to Asaka who gave her the biggest hug.

🌴 At this point Asaka no longer has on her head piece. Daniel has come back on stage as well, but he’s in his cargo shorts and t shirts.

🌴 Ti Moune exited through the water and there was a huge bright light and they were all facing her. This means that if your in Papa Ges section their back is to you. And since I’m short and was so close to the front, I couldn’t see her exiting.

🌴 Papa Ge And Erzulie come back and they are back in their outfits they had on in the beginning.

🌴 T. Oliver Reed and Isaac Powell lift the tree.

🌴 The end of Why We Tell the Story is Emerson standing in the middle of the circle and a fire is glowing like a campfire story.

🌴 Ti Moune comes back on (looking beautiful in her flowy long red dress. Her face is fixed up again and she has flowers in her hair) and climbs the tree and Mama takes her super long skirt and wraps it around the base of the tree.

🌴 There are red petals falling around the tree.

🌴 Ti Moune reaches her out to the little girl down below her and the little girl reaches up.

🌴 Ti Moune smiles down at her and there is only a spotlight on her face.

🌴 The spotlight fades out and that was the end 😭

HOW THE HECK I GOT HAMILTON TICKETS:

I’m only including this because the process of getting tickets was just as insane as seeing the show itself. This was the first time I’ve gotten to see 2 shows in under 2 weeks with the exception of when I was in NYC. I only had 3 nights in Chicago (a half day followed by two full days) and before I got there I didn’t even consider seeing Hamilton a possibility. I was there with my two sisters, my brother in law, and my parents, and had joked with my dad about getting tickets before but he had always shot it down. The first night we were in Chicago (Thursday) after driving all the way up from New Orleans, all of us except for my mom walked down to the PrivateBank Theatre to look at the marquee. I think my dad felt bad for my siblings and I because we had wanted to do a swamp tour in New Orleans but got rained out by tropical storm Cindy, so he said that one of us should go into the box office and ask about their policy for the standby line. The lady in the box office said that any remaining tickets would be sold for $180 at 10 a.m. on the day of the performance. When we walked back to our hotel, my dad said that he would be willing to pay for my siblings and I to see the show if we could get tickets the next morning at a reasonable price (no more than $180 each). We agreed that we would be willing to sit separated from one another since the probability of there being 4 seats together the day of the show was basically 0. 

So my dad walks down to the theatre at 7:30 on Friday morning to be the first in line and waits outside until the box office opens at 10:00. But when the box office actually opens, the guy there says that the remaining tickets will be sold at $350-$500 for the next hour and an unknown number of whatever ones are left will be sold for $180 at 11:00. So we wait there for ANOTHER hour only for the guy to tell us that “unfortunately” only one ticket will be sold at $180. We had already agreed that all of us or none of us would see the show, so the guy behind us in line got the $180 ticket.

So we’re all extremely disappointed as we walk back to the hotel. All 6 of us enter the lottery since it’s digital but we know that we shouldn’t spend any more time of our one weekend in Chicago trying to get tickets that we might not even be able to get (we live 11 hours from Chicago so I won’t be going back any time soon). We’re all still hoping that we’ll magically be able to get tickets somehow though, so my older sister gets on Ticketmaster for the millionth time and looks at availability for the Saturday matinee. And by some miracle, there are 4 resale seats all together for $177 each and we manage to snag them. They were limited view (at the edge of the dress circle right next to the boxes), but they were still better seats than I could ever hope to get for Hamilton. They were as close to the stage as the fourth or fifth row of the orchestra and the only times I could see was when actors were on the right balcony. Not to mention that I had multiple speakers right next to me. :)

REVIEW:

I’m not sure what to include about the show itself because literally every second of it was astounding. I was in shock the entire time that I was even getting to see it in person (I’m still in shock) and everything was perfect. My heart was pounding so fast when the lights went down at the start of the show and King George gave the speech about keeping your phones off. 

Miguel Cervantes was AMAZING as Hamilton. He was an excellent rapper and singer and his Hamilton was so savage. He nailed all of the comical moments and made him his own (he squealed higher than I thought a man physically could on “I was chosen for the Constitutional CONVEEEENTION”) and even added in some funny moments that aren’t prominent in the cast album (“Let’s gooooo”). He was charming (”Helpless”), tender (”Dear Theodosia” and “Best of Wives and Best of Women”), utterly savage/salty (he mocks Burr on the line “You get nothing if you wait for it, wait for it”), fierce (”Hurricane”), and heartbreaking (”Stay Alive Reprise,” “It’s Quiet Uptown,” and “The World was Wide Enough”) at all the right moments. If I had to choose a favorite cast member it would probably be him.

Karen Olivo’s “Satisfied” was so much more emotional than I expected it to be. She sang the final “May you always be satisfied” very quietly instead of with her usual riffs (whether she was under the weather or not I don’t know), but that made it even more heartbreaking. There were a couple of ushers trash talking her outside the theatre after the show and I kind of wanted to punch them. 

I had heard some negative reviews about Ariana Afsar as Eliza when the show opened back in the fall, but she must have improved since then because she was quite stunning as Eliza and just as vocally strong as the rest of the cast (She had some amazing riffs during “Helpless” and gave an amazing “Burn” as well). 

Jonathan Kirkland as George Washington and Daniel Breaker as Aaron Burr were everything that I wanted them to be as their respective characters. It’s obviously hard to beat Chris Jackson and Leslie Odom Jr. but neither of these men had a single moment in the show that left me underwhelmed. “One Last Time,” “Wait for It” and “The Room Where it Happens” were the showstopping, belty masterpieces that I wanted them to be. 

Another cast member who stood out a lot was Chris Lee as Thomas Jefferson. On the cast album I much prefer Hamilton to Jefferson, but Lee was so charismatic and energetic as Jefferson that I couldn’t dislike him. The Cabinet Battles were so much fun because Cervantes and Lee were both so savage towards each other. Lee definitely gave an amazing, standout performance.

It was a ton of fun to see Wallace Smith as Mulligan and Madison because I saw him as Enjolras in Les Mis on Broadway two years ago. He had a voice of gold as Enjolras but was suited just as well for Mulligan/Madison even though the two roles are very different. He has a very distinguishable accent in Hamilton which allows him to stand out in the part. Candace Quarrels had a very rich voice as Maria Reynolds and Malik Shabazz Kitchen pulled off the 9 year old kid thing very well. Alex Gemignani was hilarious as King George and I loved that he made a point to emphasize the “da da da da die.” His “Awesome, Wow” was also perfect.

There’s an infinite amount of things I could say about everyone in this cast because there really wasn’t a moment in the show that was anything less than awesome.

I definitely thought the cast deserved standing ovations for several numbers but sadly the curtain call was the only time they got one (Kirkland riffed the crap out of “One Last Time” and got an average applause for it and I’m still salty). The only time the audience clapped during a number was during “Yorktown” but my siblings and I were cheering and clapping so loudly after every song. I couldn’t stop grinning at parts when the whole ensemble came in and it got really loud like “Alexander Hamilton,” “My Shot,” “Yorktown,” “Non Stop,” and “The Room Where it Happens.” I was worried that “Non Stop” would be lackluster in person but it was just as epic as on the cast album and I was so happy about it. :) The choreography in the entire show was absolutely mind boggling despite the fact that I’ve seen a ton of clips of it. The ensemble alone deserves unending praise and awards. We got to meet John Michael Fiamura (Charles Lee) at the stage door and he was very nice. Sadly no one else came out since it was a two show day.  

But yeah, there’s basically an infinite amount of good things I could say about this show and this cast. I’m so grateful that I didn’t have to sell my soul to the devil or sell a kidney to afford to see it. If you get the chance to go, definitely do it!

rizzo was SO GOOD literally? best n most accurate version of rizzo ever? also she gave everyone the finger every five seconds which is like probably a v rizzo thing to do. also she sang worse things DIRECTLY to sandy !!! directly !! addressing !!! sandy !!! also louisa lytton’s delivery of that song was just ?? literally the Greatest

also they had a lot of 50s music in the transition inbetween scenes n they had it as if it was coming out of the radio that someone would have n then the actual ppl would sing along and it was so cute in the pyjama scene bc all the pink ladies were just singing along n i was just ?? this is so cute

i always forget that greased lightning literally has no place in the stage version it’s just There for a song w grease in the title that isn’t the one written for the movie (which ... was still in it anyway)

patty and the girls could like actually Cheer there was actually a couple of lifts which was p cool ,, but sandy couldn’t which was hilarious (& what i disliked abt grease live ok) ALSO sandy kept trying to trip patty up like those two had serious beef throughout this so it actually made the end bit where sandy is like “do u wanna get a burger” way like? have more weight to it rly 

marty’s FACE when rizzo was like “news sure travels fast” she just looked so guilty n didn’t look at rizzo for the rest of the scene yikes marty u absolute gossip !!

She is also one of the top students in there school, because of her high grades and extra curricular activities. She had a boy bestfriend named Daniel. He is tall, moreno and handsome. He is one of the famous boys in there campus. He is a varsity player in volleyball. He is very caring and humble person, he is very kind person and most importantly he is gentleman. In short he is an ideal type of boy. He is sometimes badboy. Because of her attitude and physical appearance, many girls in there campus has a crush on him. Daniel and kathryn are bestfriends since they were grade schools. Because they were neighbors,since then daniel and kathryn are classmates since grade school to senior high school. But secretly kathryn likes daniel. It’s starts when they were first year high school. Kathryn slowly liking daniel because they always see each other everyday. Because of the attitude of Daniel, kathryn admires him alot. When kathryn is sad, daniel is always right beside her to cheer her up. He is always right there for her to take care of her. Daniel and kathryn didn’t see much because they were busy on there study. They are now 2nd year college. Kathryn took up secondary education manor in english, while daniel took up a engineering. After a year of courting, samantha and daniel are now together. Because of being a charming and gentlemen of daniel, samantha fell in love to him. Kathryn helps daniel to court samantha , she is the one making the gifts, brainstorming the ideas on how will daniel courts samantha. Daniel doesn’t know that kathryn is hurt, she is in pain she cried every night, but still then he helped daniel court samantha. Until samantha said yes to daniel. The ideas that kathryn planned are the things the she hope daniel will do it to her. Everytime kathryn see daniel and samantha in the campus shes in pain but she just thinks that she should be happy because daniel is happy as a bestfriend. If daniel is happy then kathryn should be happy for him too. One day,Kathryn clean her room, because her cousin julia will come back home from USA. Kathryn and Julia are very closed cousins, since they were kids until now. Kathryn shared all her secrets, problems in life and also Julia knows all about Daniel. Julia is 1 year younger than her. It’s exactly 11:00 am that day. After kathryn cleaned her room, she decided to take a bath. She didn’t know that daniel will come to there house. When daniel is already outside there house, he rings the door bell, then Kathryn’s mom is the one who opened the gate becaue there maid’s is at a vacation. Daniel: Hi tita Goodmorning (with a big smile) he hugs kathryns mom Mom: Oh Dj Hello goodmorning also,you’re so gwapo and tall ha. Mom: Long time no see Dj. How are you now? Are you there? (Inside the restroom) When kathryn is taking a bath, she heared a voice, kathryn knows whos that voice is. Kathryn: Dj? Is that you? Daniel: Yep yep, I’ll just wait here kath ok? Kathryn was surprised because Daniel went to their house to see her. It’s been a long time since Daniel go to kathryns house. While Daniel is waiting, he sit down to kathryns bed, while he looks around the room. He noticed a small box at the table. Because its very colorful and small he get it without even knows that all things inside the box is all about him. Kathryn is still at the restroom while daniel opened the box. When he gets the first letter he reads it. After be reads that, he then reads all the letter. Daniel: whattttt? (Confused) kathryn likes me?( whispered to him self) He then saw all the pictures of them with a description at the back.He is confused.Daniel asked him self Daniel: But why? Why didn’t she tell me? Once upon a time, there was a girl named kathryn, she is 17 years old, a senior high school student at Ateneo de Manila University. She is very famous in there campus, because of her angelic face, nice attitude and she has white skin. In short she is very an ideal type of girl. She is also one of the top students in there school, because of her high grades and extra curricular activities. She had a boy bestfriend named Daniel. He is tall, moreno and handsome. He is one of the famous boys in there campus. He is a varsity player in volleyball. He is very caring and humble person, he is very kind person and most importantly he is gentleman. In short he is an ideal type of boy. He is sometimes badboy. Because of her attitude and physical appearance, many girls in there campus has a crush on him. Daniel and kathryn are bestfriends since they were grade schools. Because they were neighbors,since then daniel and kathryn are classmates since grade school to senior high school. But secretly kathryn likes daniel. It’s starts when they were first year high school. Kathryn slowly liking daniel because they always see each other everyday. Because of the attitude of Daniel, kathryn admires him alot. When kathryn is sad, daniel is always right beside her to cheer her up. He is always right there for her to take care of her. But she didn’t want daniel to know that she likes him. Because shes scared on what things might gonna happen next or in the future, or what consequences will she faced if she will confessed her feelings towards daniel. That’s why she keep that secret.But her cousin Julia and her parents know about it. In her room,under her bed,there was a small box. Inside was her diary, letters about daniel and all of there pictures together are there. Eveytime she opened that box and write a letter about Daniel makes her blushed. (One afternoon on the hallway of their campus) While kathryn was walking with her friends. Daniel run fast towards them. And screams kathryn’s name, so that kathryn will notice him. Daniel: kaaaaaatthhhh! (He screamed) Kathryn: (she knows very well whos that voice is) (She turned around and saw daniel running and shouting towards her) Kathryn: Myghaaddd Dj why are you shouting?you seemed see a ghost?what’s the problem? Daniel: (sighs) well I have something to tell you (he smiled) Kathryn: Ohh I know that face sign is ookkkk. (Daniel holds her hand and run) Kathryn: Djjjjjj (scream) my hand it hurts (At the parking lot, in front of Daniel’s car) Kathryn: ok? So what are you gonna tell?hmmmm ( she stare to daniel) Daniel: hmmm. promise me you won’t shout or scream or don’t be surprise Kathryn: ok promise (smile) Daniel: I like someone and I want to court her. Kathryn: (laughs) omg I didn’t even knew that you know how to court a girl (Inside her, she expected that she is the one who will court by daniel but it turned out this) Kathryn: soo? Who’s that girl( inside her: I hope its me,that girl mayne the luckiest person in the world) Daniel: I like her for so long. I’m sorry kath cauz I didn’t tell you early about this. I like samantha Kathryn: (shocked) ohh yahh samantha (fake smile) Daniel holds kathryn’s hand and say “ kath! Im really hoping that you will help me to court her, if its ok to you my best friend?” Kathryn: if its for you and if your happy with it why not?im your bestfriend now and forever...even if there’s no forever( laughs) Daniel: there is forever for us right my bestfriend? Kathryn: ofcourse dj, just call my name and Im always right beside you ( smile and hugs Daniel) After that conversation they both went home and still kathryn cant move on, she still remembers the things daniel told her. Kathryn: why not me?(she cry)she get her diary from her box and she wrote all the things happened on that day. Afterwards she feel asleep because shes tired and sad. Samantha is there schoolmate since high school. She looks sweet girl but she has a bad attitude but everytime daniel is arround she just turned to pabebe. Many girls doesn’t like her because of her bad attitude. She is the cheercaptain of the cheerdance of there campus. So it means Daniel and samantha merely see each other everytime they have a practice on the covered court. (After 3 years) Many things had changed on there lives. Daniel and kathryn didn’t see much because they were busy on there study. They are now 2nd year college. Kathryn took up secondary education manor in english, while daniel took up a engineering. After a year of courting, samantha and daniel are now together. Because of being a charming and gentlemen of daniel, samantha fell in love to him. Kathryn helps daniel to court samantha , she is the one making the gifts, brainstorming the ideas on how will daniel courts samantha. Daniel doesn’t know that kathryn is hurt, she is in pain she cried every night, but still then he helped daniel court samantha. Until samantha said yes to daniel. The ideas that kathryn planned are the things the she hope daniel will do it to her. Everytime kathryn see daniel and samantha in the campus shes in pain but she just thinks that she should be happy because daniel is happy as a bestfriend. If daniel is happy then kathryn should be happy for him too. One day,Kathryn clean her room, because her cousin julia will come back home from USA. Kathryn and Julia are very closed cousins, since they were kids until now. Kathryn shared all her secrets, problems in life and also Julia knows all about Daniel. Julia is 1 year younger than her. It’s exactly 11:00 am that day. After kathryn cleaned her room, she decided to take a bath. She didn’t know that daniel will come to there house. When daniel is already outside there house, he rings the door bell, then Kathryn’s mom is the one who opened the gate becaue there maid’s is at a vacation. Daniel: Hi tita Goodmorning (with a big smile) he hugs kathryns mom Mom: Oh Dj Hello goodmorning also,you’re so gwapo and tall ha. Mom: Long time no see Dj. How are you now? Daniel: Well tita, Im still cute and handsome(laughs) just kidding tita, Im fine tita thankyou for asking. Daniel: Is kathryn inside tita? Mom: Yes, I think shes in her room Daniel: Can I go to her tita? i just need to see her, because we didn’t see and talk each other that much in school. Mom: Oh really?just go inside, I will just lock the gate, then I will cook for our lunch. Daniel: Ok tita Thanks! Daniel went to Kathryns room, when his already inside. Daniel: Kath?Kath? Are you there? (Inside the restroom) When kathryn is taking a bath, she heared a voice, kathryn knows whos that voice is. Kathryn: Dj? Is that you? Daniel: Yep yep, I’ll just wait here kath ok? Kathryn was surprised because Daniel went to their house to see her. It’s been a long time since Daniel go to kathryns house. While Daniel is waiting, he sit down to kathryns bed, while he looks around the room. He noticed a small box at the table. Because its very colorful and small he get it without even knows that all things inside the box is all about him. Kathryn is still at the restroom while daniel opened the box. When he gets the first letter he reads it. After be reads that, he then reads all the letter. Daniel: whattttt? (Confused) kathryn likes me?( whispered to him self) He then saw all the pictures of them with a description at the back.He is confused.Daniel asked him self Daniel: But why? Why didn’t she tell me? When kathryn already finished taking a bath.She went outside the restroom. She is shocked when she saw daniel was on the floor with the box. Kathryn: Dj? Why you opened that? She want to get the box but daniel stay away from her Daniel: what is this stupid things kath? Kathryn cant talk she is speechless, because her fear is that daniel will know her secret and now it is happening. Kathryn: Its just nothing Dj Daniel: nottthiinggg?!! I just reed all of it Kathryn: So what now Dj?are you happy? Daniel: Happy?for what?that you keep a secret? Kathryn: Why you cant just say it?sayy Itttt djj Daniel: what? That you like me?you like me?!! Kathryn: Yes Dj I like you, Im sorry that I fell in love with you, You don’t deserve me, Im stupid ,Im a stupid bestfriend (she cried) Daniel holds her hand and says Daniel: Kathh plss no don’t cry( he wipes her tears)you are oe of the greatest blessing and gift that God gave me, Im just scocked on what I saw, but Im sorry kath, I Love you as my bestfriend. After 4 weeks, Daniel and kathryn didn’t see each other since the day Daniel went to Kathryn house. At the hallway Daniel and Samantha are walking then suddenly Daniel saw Kathryn at the bench. Daniel: babe, I just need to get something at the library, you just go first to the library ok?I’ll just follow you at the court ok? Samantha: Ok babe see you Then Daniel runs toward kathryn Daniel: Kathh?Can we talk fo a while? Kathryn: Hi dj, for what? Daniel: about the things happen.... She covers daniel mouth Kathryn: blablabla, omg Dj judt forget that Daniel: No I will not Kathryn: Its up to you, I have something to get on the library byee Daniel: ok kath see you... Kathryn runs so fast, while Daniel is standing seeing kathryn run he whispered to himself Daniel: I miss you so much bestfriend (sad face) And then ge look back and go to the court, while kathryn runs she suddenly collided with a guy. Guy: Im sorry Kathryn: Im so sorry (they look at each other) Guy: be careful next time miss (then he smiled) Kathryn: yeah I will thanks ( smile) And she walk fast The guys wants to get the name of kathryn but smhe didn’t ask because kathryn walk so fast, he thinks kathryn is in a hurry. After 2 months Kathryn went to daniel house she calls daniel through phone Kathryn: Hello Dj, we need to talk Daniel: Hi kath, right now? Kathryn: Yes right now Daniel: Ok wait I will just change my clothes Kathryn: You dont have to Daniel: Why? Let me ask you where are you now? Kathryn: Im already outside in your house dj Daniel opened the curtains and saw kathryn. He fastly go down stairs and went outside. when daniel is already outside kathryn suddenly hugs him tight. Kathryn: I Love you so much dj(she cried) Do you love me too? Daniel noticed that kathryns was kinds drunk, he smelled kathryn Daniel: wait kath?, did you drink? He gets kath to his chest and hold her shoulders. Kathryn: No dj I didn’t drink(laughs) Then again kathryn hugs him tight Kathryn: Dj I love you so much please love me too Daniel: Are you crazy kath, Have a girlfriend Kathryn: Please break up to her for please Daniel: You are just drunk kath thats why you said that Kathryn kissed daniel, but daniel pushed away kath Daniel: Are you crazy kath?!! Kathryn: please love me dj Daniel: I told you last time, I love you as my bestfriend nothing more nothing less After that Daniel drive hone kathryn. Actually it’s kathryn first time to drink and be drunk.She is with someone. After 3 days kathryn apologizes to Daniel. Daniel forgive her,they become still bestfriend. Everything was doing well and ok now. Daniel and Samantha are getting stronger. While kathryn is till on the process of moving on and accepting the fact that she and daniel are only bestfriend. She is now focusing on her studies and to herself. (After 3 years) They graduated. Kathryn became a teacher in a university while daniel became an engineer in a private company. Last 3 years when they were at there 2nd year college. Kathryn and her parents decided to buy a new house and it simply means that kathryn will transfer from another. After they transfer from there new house. Kathryn and Daniel didn’t see each other, they have no phone calls at all because she threw away her sim card so daniel will no longer call her, she ended there communication.She had no hard feelings towards Daniel but She think it is better if they have no communication, she wants to move on to all those things happened in her life, and she wants to move on to daniel too. One day, Daniel was assigned near where kathryn was working. Daniel was new to that place because it is way too there house.The workplace of daniel was a bit near to where kathryn is working. Its lunch time, Daniel with his workmates decided to buy there lunch at the university near there workplace, it is where kathryn is working.Some of Daniels workmates told him that they always eat and but there lunch at the university since it is yummy and affordable.While entering the gate, They walk at the hallway, Daniel look around, when he suddenly saw a tarpaulin with the pictures of the new comers teachers.When he is looking the tarpaulin he suddenly noticed a girl, Daniel: is that kath?(he whispered) When she saw the picture of kathryn he seems very happy and excited to see her since their workplace and the university is very near. He can visit kathryn anytime he wants. But his problem now is to find kathryn in the university. After they buy there lunch they decided to go back to their office to eat their lunch while going out Daniel told himself Daniel: I hope we see each other again kath (smile) I will find a way to find you (After 1 week) He decided to visit the university since he has now the confidence to face kathryn again. He ask some of the students in the campus. Daniel: Hi goodmorning! Do you know Ms.Kathryn? Student 1: Oh hi sir Goodmorning also. Wait who?Ms.kathryn?(student1 look at student 2) Students2: Oh Ms. Kathryn Bernardo the new teacher of the campus. Student 1: oh I remembered Ms. Kathryn is the new teacher. Daniel: Oh great! Actually Im finding her, where is her room number or office by the way? Student 2: 3rd floor at SAC building near the cafeteria I think its room number 134 Daniel: Oh that building at the left?(he pointed the SAC building) Student 1: Yes sir Daniel: ok thanks guys God Bless Student 1&2: No problem sir have a great day! Daniel went to the building to find kathryn. When he is already at the first floor he whispered to himself. Daniel: Im here kath ( smile) The school is having a class since it is 10 am.When he is already at the front room 134 he peek out in the window to see if kathryn is there. When there is only the students he opened the door and go inside. He asked the students. Daniel: Hi guys Goodmorning!where is Ms.Kathryn Students: Goodmorning sir Student 1: He is at her office sir,she just get something then she will be back. Daniel: Oh really?Thankyou guys Students: Your welcome sir When daniel closed the door,he turned left and saw a girl walking towards him, since the girl was far,he can’t see clearly the face,when the girl is near towards him , that face is very familiar to him. Daniel: Kath? Kathryn: Dj?is that you? Daniel waits until the last class of Kathryn. It is already 3 pm (in the room where there is only the two of them) Daniel: how are you Maam Kathryn?(laughs) Daniel: Its been years since the last day we see each other. Kathryn: Yes its been so long since we see each other Dj, By the way what are you now? Daniel: Well Iam now a engineer at private company.Im really happy now that I see you again after a years. By the way where did you go?why didn’t you tell me kath? I worried a lot, I searched you on facebook but I cant see your account, Ive call you a lot of times but you didn’t answer. I ask many people but then they didn’t also know where did you go.Why did you leave without me knowing that your leaving? Kathryn: Theres so many things happened in the past years Dj,right? Kathryn: I just need some space to grow by my self and to find my own happiness. Kathryn: Im really also very happy that I see you again Dj Kathryn: So how are you now?How’S samantha by the way? Daniel: Well its been 2 years since we brake up kath Kathryn: Oh really?,Im sorry to hear that Dj. Daniel and Samantha broke up because daniel saw the true attitude of samantha, they have no time for each other, they already no spark, since then Samantha find her happiness to other guy, she had a secret relationship with other guy without daniel didn’t know. When the time Daniel knows the truth, he broke up to her. Since then daniel became single until now. Daniel: I realized that if could only bring back time I hope I choose you kath rather than samantha. Daniel: Kath Im sorry because I didn’t listen to you Daniel: I came back because I want you to be mine kath Kathryn was shocked on what daniel said. Daniel: I really missed you kath, can we bring back those good memories of us? Daniel: I want to make more memories with you kath (he holds her hands) Kathryn: Everything happened for a readon Dj, Im happy right now because I see you again but the things that you sa earlier is very complicated now Dj. Kathryn: now and the past are very different. Daniel: complicated?why is it complicated kath? Kathryn stands and walks towards the window Kathryn: Im getting married Dj (She shows her hand to Dj with an engagement ring) Daniel was shocked Daniel: but why? Kathryn: No dj, you should ask yourself why you didn’t choose me before, why you didn’t listen to me? Are you gonna still go and find me? If you and samantha didn’t broke up?Do you still gonna find me? Kathryn: Im sorry Dj , but I didn’t regret on what things happened in the past, because in that pain I became more braver, I learned a lot from that,I became a better version of myself. Kathryn: Im happy right now dj, I hope you will find your someone soon, someone that can love you, someone that can be your bestfriend, someone that will not leave you.We can still be bestfriends Dj,we can make memories together again. Daniel:Do you love me kath? Kathryn: (holds daniel face) I love you Dj as my bestfriend. Kathryn is getting married to James. James was that guy collided before by kath. Since the day James know the name of kath, he is always chats her, until they became close, he is the one who is always there for kath, he can make kath happy, he is the who cheers up kathryn everyday, he is the reason why kathryn moved ob from daniel, he always gave kathryn flowers and chocolates and gifts so that kathryn will be happy and so that she can fell that someone is loving her.After a year, they are now married and they live happily ever after. #creativewritingshortstory
