Dans La Nuit || Sunday, 10 June || Kailani & [Your Character Here]

Note: This is a para for a Sunday dinner at the Cartwrights, so it’s open to any character of any age or gender that attends those events. A reference of the Cartwright estate in Los Angeles can be found HERE.

Kailani had settled on a bright summery yellow skirt and a navy polkadot top for dinner at the Cartwrights. It seemed to her like this new baby was determined to let everyone know she was pregnant and she simply couldn’t find comfortable pants for her thin legs and growing belly. Admittedly, it made getting ready a bit more easily because half of her closet had become off limits and a third of the remaining half was swimwear. Still, something bothered her about not being able to express herself like she used to. Instead of fussing about it she took her bunnies to the garden to pick some flowers for her friends while Bayoa got ready. Then, with a bouquet of gardenias, catmint, baby’s breath and forsythia in hand Bay, Benji, and Kai made their way with Sirius to the Cartwrights.

Benji waddled with one hand firmly clasped to Bayoa as they knocked on the door. Kai couldn’t see who opened the door but it was rare that it was Micah or Alessandra, who were usually in the kitchen or dining room depending on the time that they arrived. From the amount of cars on the long driveway, Kailani could only assume there would be several new faces to meet. One by one, her family split up into the various common areas of the Cartwright’s massive home and Kailani found herself in the kitchen. Stealing a vase from the familiar cabinet by the french doors to the deck she greeted Aless in Italian, Micah in English, and asked where they would like the flowers. With direction she slipped outside and made her way down the deck’s staircase to the long dinner table by the couple’s mini-vineyard.

Having been focusing on her careful steps across the estate so not to trip, Kailani hadn’t taken notice of anyone else this far across the yard or following behind her. It wasn’t until she was done arranging the flowers in the vase that she realized there was a whole cluster of friends from The Network chatting over cheese and fruit appetizers at the edge of the property’s pond. She excitedly made her way over. She slipped into the corner of a longer couch and reached over, snatching up a couple of grapes before greeting the person next to her. “Where have you been? I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve been to Micah’s and Aless’ Sunday dinners to see everyone. Have you been well?”

Dans la Nuit from Worth Review Created in 1924 by Maurice Blanchet Dans la Nuit is a pretty spicy Floral fragrance for women. This admirable composition begins with green notes, fresh and aldehydic heads. Citrus fruits bring this fresh and sparkling side whereas the aldehydes a slight metallic note so typical of the old perfume creations. The perfume evolves towards a beautiful floral bouquet, slightly spiced by a small hint of cinnamon. The bouquet is composed of an opulent variety of flowers giving all the racy character of the perfume. We can feel the mesmerizing presence of an exotic Ylang and powdery notes typical of Iris roots. To perfect this composition we find there obviously the two flowers essential to all floral arrangements of the time: jasmine and rose. After a few hours of evolution we can discover amber and vanilla notes with a hint of tonka that brings notes of dried herbs. A slight touch of smoke and earthiness is provided by vetiver. William Rockefeller Mausoleum | Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, New York

The largest mausoleum in Sleepy Hollow was built in 1920. It houses the remains of members of the William Rockefeller family. William Rockefeller was born in Richford, New York, and then moved with his family to Strongsville, Ohio in 1853. He started a refinery in 1865, which was acquired by his brother, John D. Rockefeller in 1867. That company became Standard Oil. William Rockefeller then became interested in the copper business and along with his business partners tried to control the copper industry. The business machinations proved successful and the Anaconda Copper Company went on to become the fourth largest company in the world. William Rockefeller kept a much lower public profile than his brother John D. Rockefeller and was considered to be much more friendly and personable than John D..; When he died, the gross value of his estate was estimated at 102 million dollars. He had requested a simple funeral, but nevertheless, the service received attention in the papers. Of special note was the number of servants that were allowed to attend the funeral including a bootblack who had served him for forty years. Next to be interred in the mausoleum was William Goodsell Rockefeller who died on December 3, 1922.
