was anyone gonna tell me the guy who played Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick also played that guy from War Dogs or was I supposed to find this out myself from an edit on tumblr
Meskipun awalnya sukses, bisnis mereka mulai menghadapi berbagai masalah.

War Dogs is a dark comedy based on a true story. It came out in 2016 and tells the story of David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli. Who started an arms dealing company called AEY. Packouz was 19, and Diveroli was 23 when they founded the company. They worked their way up in the world by starting small and going after the crumbs that bigger more powerful companies over looked. After securing the Iraq deal, they put their name on the map and AEY landed the Afghan deal. Which would eventually lead to their downfall and expose the government for the corrupt ways they arm their soldiers for war. In return showcased to millions of Americans in 2007 when the news came out just how many flaws the government really has. Which is why I would claim that War dogs is an important film, despite it being a comedy.
War dogs is a term used for bottom feeders who make money off war without stepping onto the battle field. Which is exactly what saved Packouz. He worked as a message therapist, after he dropped out of college. When he found out his girlfriend was pregnant, he knew he needed to build a better life for his family. which is exactly why he took up his friends offer to join the company AEY. Even though it went against his morals with the war.
“ What do you know about war? They’ll tell you its about patriotism, Democracy or some shit about the other guy hating our freedom. But do you want to know what’s it really about? What do you see? A kid from Arkansas doing his patriotic duty to defend his country? I see a helmet, fire retardant, gloves, body armor, and an M16. I see $17,500. That’s what it costs to outfit one American soldier. Over 2 million soldiers fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. It cost the American tax payer 4.5 billion each year, just to pay the air conditioning bills for those wars. And that’s what war is really about. War is about an economy,” This is the opening monologue from Packouz. I would say this monologue perfectly showcases why Packouz did what he did, and how much everything in America revolves around money.
On the Afghan deal, AEY worked with multiple, international weapons dealers, brokers, that where on the governments watchlist of people to dangerous to work with. That part of the review just so happened to be over looked when AEY was picked for the Afghan deal. With this small company perspective to earn 100 million dollars. For Packouz the pressure was on, so when he found out that the Albanian ammo for the deal was not only 40 years old but also Chinese. Packouz wanted to tell the truth but at least his business partner Diveroli came up with the idea of something extremely illegal. Repackage the ammo. So its no longer Chinese ammo. With most things like smoking weed most of the times, Packouz was once again pressured to do it.
After spending months repacking the ammo, it was emails that described the illegal activity that finally did AEY in. But what really made it mainstream was the New York Times article that exposed everything illegal AEY has done. Packouz pleaded guilty and served 6 months house arrest and sued Diveroli for money never paid to him. Diveroli was accused of fraud and spent 4 years in prison and put on the very watch list many of his business partners are on. AEY is unable to get license for arms dealing until 2025. With that year approaching fast. You have to wonder has the government really learned from their mistakes or will history repeat itself again. The downfall of AEY has been used as a case study for the government and has also changed many regulations with arms dealing license. Not only did it expose the corrupt ways that the government supplies war. It exposed to the American people what kind of person you need to be in order to make millions . Which is two, 20-something weed smokers with no education. Here you can find The official document for The AEY Investigation.
