Prague Events in Support of Ukraine
Tumblr media
“Czech society has shown an unprecedented wave of solidarity to support Ukraine against the Russian invasion. Refugee aid centres are being set up across the country. Contributions can also be made through benefit events, the proceeds of which go to humanitarian aid to victims of armed conflict, escapees, refugees, and to the protection of vulnerable families and individuals.”
The long road to independence: History of Ukraine in the 20th century
“The exhibition maps the events of the 20th century, starting with Ukraine’s independence from Tsarist Russia and ending with the new challenges after 2019. The author of the exhibition, David Svoboda, wants to bring to light the number of “distorted historical arguments” in the Czech Republic – where does Ukraine belong geopolitically?”
Event will be held until March 15. [click here for more information]
Sokol run for Ukraine
“A charity run for Ukraine from Tuesday, March 8 to Sunday, March 13. All proceeds will go to the People in Need collection and Sokol houses that provide or will provide assistance to Ukrainian refugees.”
Event will be held until March 13. [click here for more information]
Prague Zoo for Ukraine
“Ukrainian women and children can enter the Prague Zoo for CZK 1. This may possibly help them forget the horrors of war, at least for a while... To enter for one koruna, simply show a valid passport or a Ukrainian ID card. Guided feedings, seal trainings or an entertainment programme in the Bororo Reserve. The entire programme will be translated into Ukrainian.”
Events will be held until March 27. [click here for more information]
Art for Ukraine
“Four Prague galleries and more than 100 artists help Ukraine. Bold Gallery, Trafo, The Chemistry and DOX are planning an auction of works by contemporary artists. On Saturday, March 19, 2022, there will be an online auction as well as an auction in person in the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art. All proceeds will go to the People in Need collection for Ukraine.”
Event will be held until March 20. [click here for more information]
Czech Radio plays for Ukraine
“An extraordinary benefit concert of the Czech Radio in aid of Ukraine will feature the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and its designated chief conductor Petr Popelka. He has put together a programme combining music by Ukrainian and Czech composers for the occasion. The opening of the evening will feature the national anthems of both our countries performed by the Czech Radio Children's Choir as an expression of support and sympathy for all Ukrainians at a time when they are facing reprehensible aggression. All proceeds from admission will be donated to aid to Ukraine.”
Event will be held on March 14. [click here for more information]

Společně prožijí řadu dobrodružství i legrace. A přestože vodnická kouzla dokáží Anince pomoci, jak k uzdravení nemocných, tak na obranu proti loupežníkům, k záchraně Vítka bude potřeba především pravá láska

01/BASICS
Full Name: Indigo Dahlia Hayes Nickname: None. She picked her name, so use it.  Birthday: December 3 Gender: Trans Female Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, but currently privately questioning the whole “attracted to men” part. Astrological Sign: Sagittarius (Sagittarius II, The Week of the Originator). Scorpio Moon.  Spoken Languages: English; she likes languages, and has picked up a little bit from the places she lived growing up, but isn’t super conversational in any of them. Birthplace: Bethesda, Maryland Relationship status: Single
TRIGGER WARNINGS: references to transphobia
02/PHYSICAL TRAITS
Hair Color/Style: Blonde, as a base, but she frequently colors it. Pink is a particular favorite, whether it’s her whole head or just the tips.  Eye Color: Blue Face Claim: Hunter Schafer Height: 5’10” Tattoos: She has a simple flower tattoo on her ribs, which she got in boarding school shortly after she turned eighteen.  Piercings: Two holes in each ear.  Unique Attributes: She vapes, and she chews a lot of gum. If she’s not doing one or the other, then it’s probably Exy practice.
03/PERSONALITY TRAITS/TYPES
Positive Traits: Creative, independent, fun-loving, adventurous, intelligent Negative Traits: Irresponsible, impulsive, indecisive, flighty, rebellious Hobbies/Interests: She’s a dabbler. There are a lot of things that she enjoys, or knows how to do passingly well, but few that she’s truly committed to, or truly exceptional at. Before she played Exy, she played soccer. For awhile she was really into Tarot cards, and she still pulls them out sometimes. She’s a passable singer, and was in a few musicals in her youth. (No, there is no surviving video proof.) Exy is maybe the thing she’s stuck with the longest, because she found it at a time when she was sick of being so inconsistent, of being everybody but herself. It suits her rebellious nature, her desire to command attention—especially now that she’s back to striker.  Major/Minor: Undeclared, but considering Modern Languages. Insecurities: She has a hard shell: she lives large and loud, like she doesn’t care if people like her or not. Sometimes needlessly provocative, like she’s daring them to dislike her. She doesn’t want to waste her time with fake people, the people who will just put up with her if she isn’t too disagreeable, and so she’d rather weed them out. She’d rather be alone, then surround herself with people who she only thinks are her friends. And if someone’s going to dislike her, she’d rather it be because of something she did, rather than something she is.  Quirks/Eccentricities: She likes mimicking people’s voices and accents—not to their face, and (usually) not mocking them, but just trying them on for the fun of it. She usually prefers sitting on the floor to sitting in a chair, and won’t sit up straight/normally in a chair if she is in one. She has strong opinions about just about everything—a preferred seat on the bus, whether she gets the bed closest to the door or the window on the road (the window, obviously)—and she will make them known.  MBTI Type: ESTP, “The Entrepreneur” (Entrepreneurs are full of passion and energy, complemented by a rational, if sometimes distracted, mind. Inspiring, convincing and colorful, they are natural group leaders, pulling everyone along the path less traveled, bringing life and excitement everywhere they go.) Enneagram Type: Type Seven, “The Enthusiast” (Sevens cope with the loss of Essential guidance by using the “trial and error” method: they try everything to make sure they know what is best. On a very deep level, Sevens do not feel that they can find what they really want in life. They therefore tend to try everything—and ultimately may even resort to anything as a substitute for what they are really looking for.) Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Temperament: Sanguine
04/FAMILY & HOME
Immediate Family: Caroline Elizabeth Chandler (Mother), Edward Michael Hayes (Father), David Svoboda (Half-Brother, never met) How do they feel about their family?: She thinks she’s probably supposed to be sadder about the divorce. But the thing is: her parents weren’t any warmer, or more demonstrative when they were married. They were just married. Sure, it was harder to treat her like baggage then, something to be passed back and forth between them, the last tether to each other they couldn’t get rid of, but she’s over that now. They didn’t want her, either of them, not really, but she found freedom in that. She learned how to want herself.
Her parents may have been miserable married to each other but, to her, they don’t really seem that much happier for not being married to each other. Privately, she thinks they might just be miserable people. Ambitious, in the way that Indigo is supposed to be but isn’t, but ultimately empty inside.
The thing is, though, that it could be worse. She knows that. Her parents didn’t kick her out, of refuse to support her transition, or anything that happens to tons of kids less lucky than she is. But then, her parents have always been good at the kind of problems money can solve. And then, they’ve always been shit at everything else. They’ve never had much patience with her; they’ve always thought that she’s too much trouble, just too much in general, and this felt like no exception. When she tried out a few names before settling on Indigo, they didn’t have much patience for that, either. Heaving their sighs, like she was asking them for far too much by asking them to keep up.
Her father’s only gotten more important as she’s gotten older. He’s an Ambassador now. He didn’t marry the woman he cheated on her mother with, fathered a child with. Just another woman he disappointed. Another child he didn’t really seem to want, but one gotten rid of much more easily than Indigo. She hasn’t met her half-brother, and she has no desire to. Her father hasn’t married anyone since, either. His girlfriends, though—of which there have been many—just seem to get younger, a fact that Indigo doesn’t hesitate to inform him is gross. Her mother dates too, but she keeps dating men like Indigo’s father, like maybe she’ll one day find the man that he was supposed to be. Someone from a good family, someone steady. Someone loyal. She hasn’t found him yet.  How does their family feel about them?: She knows they think she’s trouble. That she acts out for no reason. She knows what she was supposed to be: someone serious like them, who cares about status and power, who goes to Ivy League schools, who networks, who will go into law or politics or something suitably prestigious. She’s none of those things. She’s loud, she’s brash, she’s free-spirited. She plays Exy for right now, and she has no idea what she’s going to do after. She also doesn’t really care.
She knows that appearances matter to her parents, and so they act like family matters. They’ll always open their doors to her, even as they shake their heads at her antics. They’ll always ask her about school, make polite conversation, even if they never seem all that interested in her answers. It’s been a long time since she’s expected anything more—if she ever did.  Pets: Her mother has a dog, that she got when they moved back to the States, a big Bernese Mountain Dog named Denali. He’s getting on the older side, and he’s indisputably her mother’s dog: following her around the house, paying attention to Indigo mostly only when her mother is nowhere to be found. Indigo is clearly second best, but she’s often roped into being a dog walker when she’s home.  Where do they live?: Her mother lives in Bethesda, Maryland. Her father currently lives in Indonesia, where he’s serving as the Ambassador. She usually switches between them for breaks, but now that her father’s a very long flight away, she’s been spending more time at her mother’s, much to Indigo’s disappointment.  Description of their home: Everywhere she’s ever stayed with her father since the divorce has been a guest room, houses and apartments impersonally furnished for use by diplomats, who are more than used to moving around, making homes quickly in new places. Her mother’s house is the one that her parents bought after they got married, when they still lived in the States, the one that Indigo was born in. It’s a large, stately home in the suburbs with a big landscaped yard. On the inside, it doesn’t really resemble the home she remembers from her childhood, because her mother went on a huge redecorating and refinishing spree after the divorce.  Description of their bedroom: Her room in her mother’s house is the one room that hasn’t changed much. And that isn’t really a good thing, because Indigo has changed. It might as well be a guest room like the ones she stays in with her father, for all that it feels like her. Her bedrooms, for the past several years, have been dorm rooms: and she likes covering those with pictures, of herself and friends or of art prints, decorating with crystals and string lights and candles that are technically against the rules. She’s pretty messy, with her clothes especially, and she always takes up way too much counterspace with her makeup.
05/THIS OR THAT
Introvert or Extrovert? Extrovert Optimist or Pessimist? Optimist Leader or Follower? Leader Confident or Self-Conscious? Confident Cautious or Careless? Careless Passionate or Apathetic? Passionate, but her passions tend to come and go. Book Smarts or Street Smarts? Book Smarts Compliments or Insults? Won’t hesitate to use either.
06/FAVORITES
Favorite Color: Pastel pink Favorite Clothing Style/Outfit: Most everything she wears is hyper-trendy, and hyper-feminine, with an edge. She came of age in boarding school, and it shows in her style: a lot of pleated skirts and knee-high socks, school-girl style as seen through some provocative pastel kaleidoscope. She dresses to be noticed, in a somewhat over-the-top way that you’d expect to see on Instagram but not in your 9AM lecture, but she carries it off with confidence. She likes pink and other pastels, glitter, and platform shoes that make her even taller than she already is. And while you’d expect her to enjoy press duty for the attention, she hates that when the cameras are on her she’s sweaty and in her gear and without makeup on, without the armor of her carefully-curated image.  Favorite Bands/Songs/Type of Music: She’s pretty well-versed in music, but likes a lot of girl-driven alt-pop: Mitski, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, BIllie Eilish.  Favorite Movies: She really likes trashy TV, whether it’s scripted or not scripted, from The Bachelor to Riverdale. Same with movies: the worse the better.  Favorite Books: If you ask her, she only reads her horoscope.  Favorite Foods/Drinks: She’s an adventurous eater and will try anything once. She especially likes sushi and anything spicy. She drinks tea more than coffee, and she loves kombucha.  Favorite Sports/Sports Teams: Exy, but she follows college Exy more than she does the pros. She also likes women’s soccer, and occasionally hockey.   Favorite Time of Day: Nighttime. She’s often sleepwalking in morning practices, and is a big nap-taker.   Favorite Weather/Season: Winter—she’s lived in a lot of hot places, and she always misses snow Favorite Animal: Elephants

Virtual GP 2022 season so far
Tumblr media
Virtual GP 2022 season so far. As VGP enters its traditional summer break, half the season has already passed, with six incredible races at numerous amazing European circuits and a stateside to Daytona. Each year, VGP always strive to better the year before, in terms of production and on-track action, and yet again the Czech republic based organisation has delivered. With the GT3 portion of the season now complete, the series bids farewell to the Mercedes AMG GT3 car, as it will be replaced by the new Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo from next season. The car had a very fitting send-off, as its final stand was a thrilling race on home turf at Hockenheim. Let's have a look at how the season has gone so far for the 10 participating teams. Joint 9th - Benzina Orlen - 23 points Aleš Danda - Best finish 6th Oldřich Štěpanovský - Best finish 12th Pavel Šeps - Best finish 15th Entering the series in 2019, they hit the ground running by signing the current championship leader Martin Štefanko. They were 3rd in their maiden season, and champions in 2020 with Štefanko and then-rookie Erik Vizi pushing the team to the top spot, but those glory days seem a long way in the past, as recent form has seen a sharp decline since then. Currently. Benzina Orlen are joint last place in the championship, however returning driver Aleš Danda, replacing rookie driver Pavel Šeps, scored the team's best result so far this season of 6th place at Hockenheim, and Štěpanovskýs form has been slowly improving since his debut season in 2020. Joint 9th - PUMA - 23 points David Urbančík - Best finish 8th Štěpán Kysel - Best finish 11th The sports clothing giant entered the championship this year, through different associations with VGP, and are also fielding a pair of rookie drivers to the series. In almost every round, the PUMA pair have finished within two places of each other, with Urbančík being the slightly quicker driver of the two so far. Consistency is eluding the pair at the moment as far as points finishes are concerned, but considering the quality of the grid, the newcomers have started their VGP journeys well. 8th - Navitel - 34 points Jan Bruna - Best finish 10th Michal Šembera - Best finish 14th The GPS manufacturer is also a new entrant into this years VGP, along with their drivers. Whilst Šembera has struggled to see the points regularly, Bruna has finished between 10th and 12th in all but the last race, where he sadly didn't finish. Incredible consistency from the outset for Bruna will hopefully inspire Šembera to follow suit as the series heads towards the single-seaters 7th - Big Shock - 44 points Pavel Mareček - Best finish 7th Tomáš Hora - Best finish 8th Czechias answer to Red Bull, the Big Shock energy drinks brand joined the series in 2020 and has had Tomáš Hora on board from the outset. Up until this year, Hora was partnered with Štěpanovský, but this season saw the latter replaced by another of the newcomers to VGP, Pavel Mareček. Whilst Mareček has scored the team's best result so far, Hora has scored more points for Big Shock so far, his personal best finish being 5th in the last two seasons. 6th - Carvargo - 55 points Petr Hermoch - Best finish 6th Miroslav Svoboda - Best finish 6th The best of the debutants, Carvargo hit the ground running with Petr Hermoch and Miroslav Svoboda. Svoboda hasn't had the best consistency throughout the season so far, but a superb performance at Hockenheim inside the top five for most of the race, finishing 6th in the end, whereas Hermoch has only once finished outside of the top 10 all season, showing the established names that fresh blood is ready to take them on. 5th - MECA/All4SIM eRacing - 80 points Michal Limon - Best finish 5th Adam Pilo - Best finish 7th Martin Krejča - Best finish 9th Joining the series last year, the simrig builders signed some very strong talent in the form of Michal Limon and Martin Krejča, finishing in 4th place, just a handful of points behind ESET. Limon has certainly picked up where he left off from last year, scoring the team's best result of 5th place and only finishing outside of the top 10 once this season. Krejča suffered a motorbike injury before Hockenheim, and his replacement Adam Pilo, also a new name to VGP, manage a hugely impressive 7th. 4th - Lenovo Legion - 92 points Martin Nejedlík - 1 win Erik Vizi - Best finish 5th Expectations were certainly running high on Vizis shoulders in particular, having finished last season very strong, but Erik has not rediscovered the form he showed last year. His strong became much stronger in the single-seaters last year, so Lenovo Legion could well see a resurgence from him in the second half of this year. Martin Nejedlik scored a superb win at Daytona this year and has had some strong finishes well inside the top 10 as well, but a few DNFs have hindered his results so far. - Chris Buxton Read the full article

„Z toho zákonitě plyne závist a nepřejícnost,“ konstatoval. source https://www.parlamentnilisty.cz/arena/monitor/Nezavidte-vyzval-narod-Fiala-A-dozvuky-jsou-stale-slyset-Libertariani-maji-jasno-703551

Calacus Weekly Hit & Miss – Pentathlon United and John Yems
Every week we look at the best and worst communicators in the sports world from the previous week.
HIT - PENTATHLON UNITED
One of the enduring memories of Tokyo 2020 was the horrifying moment when German coach Kim Raisner punched a horse that had been shy to attempt jumps during the equestrian competition of the Olympic Games Modern Penathlon.
The shocking incident saw Raisner sent home amid accusations that rider Annika Schleu was also too vigorous with her whip.
With the sport’s future participation at the Olympic Games under threat and its place at LA2028 in doubt, the sport decided that it needed to make radical changes and UIPM, the International Modern Pentathlon Union, later announced that it would scrap equestrian from the event.
Modern Pentathlon has been a core Olympic event since 1912 featuring show jumping, fencing, pistol shooting and cross-country running but has been criticised for failing to adapt to the modern world.
UIPM later announced that it had decided to include two variations of an ‘obstacle discipline’ for testing to replace the horse riding section.
The UIPM New 5th Discipline Working Group said that in reaching its decision, it “rigorously followed” pre-established criteria set out by the UIPM including “athletes' views, medical aspects (including workload, injuries and anti-doping), TV, media and marketing opportunities."
UIPM President Dr Klaus Schormann said: “The New 5th Discipline Working Group has conducted its work with clear direction and a commitment to expertise, resulting in thought-provoking discussions and strong conclusions.
“The guidance provided by the IOC around the selection of an alternative discipline for Modern Pentathlon has been closely followed, with athletes playing a central role in this process.”
However, UIPM immediately faced opposition from athletes, who urged it to reform the show-jumping phase rather than remove it, and fears were raised that the decision had been affected by the presence in the working group of Robert Stull of the United States, who is also on the Central Board of World Obstacle, also known as the Federation Internationale de Sport d’Obstacles (FISO).
“The UIPM is fully aware the decision... will come as a disappointment to many members of our global community who love the sport in its current form, including those athletes who have developed their riding ability over many years of training,” Schormann told Reuters.
The response from the athletes has seen Modern Pentathlon front and centre in sports news, criticising the process as well as the decision.
Australia’s 2016 Olympic champion Chloe Esposito believes the decision changes the very fabric and soul of the sport.
“It is heart-breaking. I don’t know if I can really keep being interested in watching and following along – it won’t feel like pentathlon any more,” Esposito told the Sydney Morning Herald last year.
“I’ve been riding since I was 10. Young athletes have worked hard on their riding. All that goes to waste.”
Penathlon United, which is campaigning for new governance and an overhaul of the sport, echoed concerns about the decision to include obstacle events: “We've long suspected that OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) was at the forefront of the UIPM EB's agenda in replacing riding. The decision to only test OCR and not any of the other apparent 60 options they considered just highlights this further.”
A group of 667 athletes, including Britain's Tokyo 2020 champions Joe Choong and Kate French, the Czech Republic's London 2012 gold medallist David Svoboda, and Sydney 2000 bronze medallist Kate Allenby of Britain have called for Schormann and the entire Executive Board to resign following a decision they described as having “undermined 109 years of Modern Pentathlon.”
Former Olympian Kate Allenby, who has led the campaign against UIPM, told the Guardian the situation was serious and said: “We face the biggest threat to our existence in over 100 years.
“Instead of open honest and transparent dialogue about future direction for our sport, the UIPM leadership has chosen to maintain a closed and secretive process with non-disclosure agreements placed on anyone involved in the working group.
“It is a hallmark of the way this UIPM leadership has run our sport for decades. It has led to our sport being removed from the Olympics. As the athletes have made overwhelmingly clear in our survey this is no longer acceptable to them.”
Choong said that the consultation process did not allow any time for debate: “You had to sign up, we were all muted. You had 4-5 seconds to ask a question and no chance to respond to the answer. There was no consultation, no discussion.
“Out of 16 board members they had 13 white men over 60 enjoying the sound of their own voices and ignoring the younger athletes. It wasn’t a conversation. It was very much a master-servant dialogue. It’s not good enough.”
Choong was also one of five modern pentathletes to send a letter to International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach calling for an independent investigation into the sport, which it says is in "crisis."
“The UIPM’s consultation process has been illusory at best and, it would appear, designed only to legitimise a predetermined outcome (which we are advised will be obstacle racing in collaboration with World OCR).
“The IOC was clear in its expectation that athletes must play a central role in the review and consultation process for a fifth discipline. This has not happened. Certainly, the athlete body has been excluded from any meaningful participation.
"It is clear that the UIPM does not engage, represent or listen to its athletes, as so breaches the Olympic Charter, which recognizes the athletes as 'a fundamental element of the Olympic Movement'.
“In taking these steps, the UIPM has catalyzed broader, longstanding concerns from the athletes about the management, governance and probity of the UIPM.”
The group said it found that over 95% of respondents are unhappy with how the UIPM has conducted the riding replacement process and that more than 90% believe “the UIPM is not capable of building a strong future for the sport.”
Tellingly, nearly 80% of athletes surveyed said that it’s unlikely they will stay in the sport if the equestrian discipline is removed.
The co-ordinated and consistent campaign by Choong, Allenby and others has certainly put Modern Pentathlon’s governance into focus and raised concerns about their executives’ adherence to the Olympic Charter.
Whether it will have any impact remains to be seen.
For his part, President Bach says modern pentathlon’s fate will be decided by the start of next year.
He said: “The situation is that we have not yet decided about the inclusion of modern pentathlon for the Olympics of 2028. We are waiting now for the decisions to be taken in the international federation. We are also monitoring how they are taken.”
“After this, the Executive Board of the IOC will make a decision either later this year or, at the latest, the beginning next year.”
 MISS – JOHN YEMS
Football is widely known as ‘the beautiful game’ and certainly captures the hearts and imagination of billions of people across the world.
But for all its excitement and drama, diversity is one aspect of football that needs constant attention.
We’ve seen racism on the terraces and even the England team taking the knee in the face of boos from their own fans; while homophobia is such that despite the rainbow laces campaign that takes place every year, no gay player has come out in England while still playing, with Josh Cavallo making world headlines after admitting his sexuality in Australia.
The days where the National Front had kiosks at league clubs may have passed and grounds now have a significantly more multicultural fanbase than in years past.
In governance and management, diversity is almost non-existent and the game needs further support and initiatives to make it happen.
So it came as no shock this week when Crawley Town manager John Yems left his job after allegations of racism levelled against him made his position untenable.
Yems, who has been in charge since 2019, was initially suspended indefinitely by the League Two side after the accusations came to light a fortnight ago.
The Football Association confirmed it was investigating the 62-year-old with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) also made aware of the problems.
Before his inevitable departure, acting Crawley head coach Lewis Young admitted he could understand the support for Yems from fans after a third successive defeat since the 62-year-old’s suspension.
It says much about the education society needs to go through that the fans chanted “We want our Yems back” throughout the whole game when they lost 2-0 to Leyton Orient.
The accusations against Yems are damning.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Yems used language including ‘suicide bomber’, ‘terrorist,’ ‘curry muncher’ and ‘Zulu Warrior’, as well as running a segregated training ground where the club’s black footballer use a separate changing room.
He is alleged to have said to white players: ‘Don’t change in the black boys’ room,’ and banished two players with ethnic minority backgrounds from training with the first team without explanation.
Seven Crawley players have complained to the PFA last month, with at least one seeking counselling as a result of the damage the manager did to his mental health.
One of the players told the Mail: “It’s been going on since 2020-21 — in the changing room, during training. No one challenged him on it as he’s the gaffer and we didn’t feel we could. Sometimes players say things in the heat of the moment but from the manager it’s different. He’s the boss, so it’s an abuse of his power.
“I’ve been in a dark place and really struggled. Two players were effectively kicked out of the club last year for no reason. They were made to train on their own and haven’t been seen since. One of the lads said Yems was screaming in their faces, ‘F*** off you c***s, get out of our club.’”
A staff member at the club also explained how problematic Yems’ conduct has become. They said: “John would see it as banter, but it’s race-related bullying that has had a damaging effect on several players.
“Some of them would play along but it’s really hurtful, and many of them are young boys. People were uncomfortable, but most of the players opted to keep their heads down and you can understand why.”
Crawley were taken over by US cryptocurrency investors WAGMI United in April and new co-chairman Preston Johnson said the club would begin a "global search" for their new manager.
A statement, which omitted the allegations or context of the departure, said: “Crawley Town Football Club announced on Friday that it has mutually agreed to part ways with John Yems, effective immediately.
“We’re looking forward to the next era of Crawley Town Football Club,” said Preston Johnson, co-chairman of Crawley Town FC.
“We have an opportunity to build on more than 125 years of rich history and take this club to the next level. We’re eager to partner with our players and supporters as we build a team and community that Red Devils fans can continue to be proud of — both on and off the pitch.”
The club described the allegations as ‘serious and credible’ with any potential punishment now down to FA’s disciplinary department, who are to decide whether to charge Yems with a breach of rule E3, which prohibits discrimination against another individual’s protected characteristics such as race, colour, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
For his part, Yems has refused to comment or provide any sort of defence and called the police when he was doorstepped by a Sky reporter.
Whether this is an end to the matter remains to be seen.
The owners of Crawley have not spoken to media about the situation or what they will do to ensure that it does not happen again - and for the players, sponsors, commercial partners and fans, addressing any cultural misconduct will no doubt have a huge bearing on their long-term reputation.

Red is dead: Russian anti-war protesters fly a new flag for peace.
I strongly believe in being and staying informed through confirmed, legitimate sources. You may not view me as one, but maybe this post will infuriate you enough to check for yourself.
Do NOT dare to put me into the same “not all men” camp!
Here goes nothing:
Several people created the idea of the white-blue-white flag shortly after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine started on 24 February 2022.
Tumblr media
Color scheme:
Tumblr media
The group said: “Why is the new symbol important? Because it frees Russians of their ties to the Kremlin. By showing this flag, we – Russians – can say no to the war, no to dictatorship, and no to censorship. This isn’t the symbol of a state, it’s a symbol of people joining together.”

The flag is also used as insignia by the "Freedom of Russia" Legion (Russian: Легион «Свобода России», romanized: Legion "Svoboda Rossii"; Ukrainian: Легіон «Свобода Росії»), also translated as the "Free Russia" Legion and Russia's Freedom Legion.

The writhing on the legion’s patch states: Freedom of Russia
Russian: Легион «Свобода России» Ukrainian: Легіон «Свобода Росії»
Motto of the Legion: “For Russia! For freedom!” (Russian: За Россию! За свободу!)
It is a legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, formed in March 2022 to protect Ukraine against the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine during the Russo-Ukrainian war. It consists of defectors of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as other Russian and Belarusian volunteers who have not previously been members of military formations.

It is interesting who responded to this call. Out of the thousands of foreign volunteers to have taken up arms in Ukraine, 73-year-old Florida retiree Steven Straub is perhaps the oldest.

Last, but certainly not least, we have this already legendary song by the Pink Floyd - Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox).
'Hey Hey Rise Up', released in support of the people of Ukraine, sees David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined by long time Pink Floyd bass player Guy Pratt and Nitin Sawhney on keyboards, all accompanying an extraordinary vocal by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox.
All proceeds go to Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief: Spotify | Apple | YouTube
This is the first new original music that they have recorded together as a band since 1994’s The Division Bell.

Broncos, Chiefs First NFL Teams To Use RealResponse Real-Time Reporting, Monitoring
Tumblr media
RealResponse (@RealResponseHQ), the award-winning leading safe and secure feedback, monitoring and anonymous reporting platform for athletic teams and organizations, today announced a pair of landmark partnerships with the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs, becoming the first two NFL teams to offer the platform to its employees. Both will use the system to proactively stay in communication with employees regarding feedback on areas impacting their wellbeing - both positives that are benefiting experiences as well as to gain additional insight into the issues that may need to be addressed. The partnership will launch in the coming weeks.
“RealResponse is a critical tool that our organization will utilize at all levels to enhance our communication with employees,” said Nancy Svoboda, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for the Denver Broncos. “We are proud of our workplace culture and we want to continue to be proactive in supporting our staff by making sure that their voices continue to be heard. We are excited to be a part of this groundbreaking platform.”
“We are excited to partner with RealResponse to design and implement a valuable tool to enhance internal and external communication at all levels of our organization,” said Kirsten Krug, Executive Vice President of Administration for the Kansas City Chiefs. “Creating an efficient, confidential and anonymous way to proactively identify and address issues and opportunities will make us better. We are proud to be a part of this emerging trend within professional sports.”
“We are very proud to have both the Broncos and the Chiefs join us in this expansion of our business into the NFL,” said David Chadwick, RealResponse founder and former NCAA Division I basketball player. “The platform we have built is all about empowering athletes and employees’ voices and keeping those in leadership informed not just on issues, but on opportunities to better communicate and work together. Whether it is a junior staff member receiving acknowledgement for going above and beyond the call or a senior administrator alerting leadership of potential issues regarding employee health and well-being. It is clear that the leadership in the NFL, with Denver and Kansas City being first in, are engaged and ready to listen to resolve issues before they become problems.”
The two teams will begin implementingand onboarding staff into the system in the coming weeks. RealResponse already works with the NFLPA for player-related reporting, but having teams engaged will make the system more holistic and impactful across all areas of the organizations.
