What do you think makes a fic a crack fic?

A fic that is inherently ridiculous in some way. That’s about all that’s required imo.

There’s an overlap with fics that make you go “what the fuck”, but it’s not 1:1. (I mean, one of my actually-serious fics got the “what the fuck” reaction too.) But either way, the inherent ridiculousness is what makes it crack.

Based on a typo in someone's fic summary.

In which Dean and Cas finally reveal their secret fillings for each other.

I’m not into this fandom either, but it’s another anthropomorfic so I couldn’t resist.

The Bodacious Blessing of the Fairy GodRossi byDeejaymil [Criminal Minds, team-as-family]

Emily is emo trash, Morgan can't narrate to save his life, and Rossi's perverted even when not being given the opportunity to make innuendos about magic wands. All Hotch wants to do is get some goddamn sleep, but there's an argument breaking out about whether or not motorbikes belong in feudal England and there aren't enough corners in the room to put every one of his team in their well deserved time-outs.

By the end of tonight, fairytales are going on the list of 'nice things we aren't allowed to have', along with Trivial Pursuit, Cluedo, and Monopoly.

It’s much better than it sounds. Mostly skit-type things (think asdfmovie) with some continuity between them.

Tentacle Monster Steve is captured by Hydra. They send in the Winter Soldier with a bull whip to break him, but as far as Steve's concerned the most beautiful creature he's ever seen walked in to his cell and started waving a sexy black tentacle at him. It's love at first sight.

Steve makes the mistake of taking Thor to the zoo. Tony makes the mistake of buying nine penguins. Everyone else thinks they’ve made the mistake of joining the Avengers in the first place.

All the penguins are named after Tony ;)

LinkMaster Sword smuttishness.  'Nuff said.  Vaguely related to Sheik and the Mailbox.

The author has a whole series of these, this is just the most memorable. (Note: cracksmut.)

Group of Weirdos: Ocarina of Time by Mr. Light Chicken Bulbs [Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]

We're all used to the parodies where Link's a brain dead oaf who screws everything up. But now, the bosses our protagonist defeats join his cause and assist with the reclamation of Hyrule, trying their hardest to stop the 'hero' from ruining everything.

I haven’t read this in years but I remember it (and the sequels) being pretty cracky.

Phineas and Ferb: Take Two! by AnimationNut [Phineas and Ferb]

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of Phineas and Ferb? Well, now you can find out. And believe me, some weird and crazy stuff goes on with that crew.

Variation on Literary Agent Hypothesis (characters are in-universe actors acting on the show), and everyone’s a troll to each other.
