them!! i adore these kiddos. they're my favourite humans in any continuity. they're such realistic teenagers and good characters in general (miko haters FIGHT ME she is my adhd girly and i won't stand for this slander)

a lot of people get annoyed by the kids, but i love the energy and family dynamic they bring to team prime. the autobots really need that after the terrible things they've experienced in the war (the kids are also funny and have adorable relationships with the bots and bring out the kid in bee, which is so precious)

Do you ever read a post online where someone complains about how "IDW never talks about this [idea/character/plot/theme]" and you just think to yourself... this person hasn't read anything besides MTMTE have they?

Really sad when you see people complaining "the story never talked about this!" and act angry about it as if it's some oppressive flaw that the writer (JRO) was evil for never talking about but it's like. Bud if you just read exRID/OP or maybe Windblade/TAAO you would have read plenty about that.

The two worst ones I can think of off the top of my head are "Optimus is always treated like a saint, I hate how he gets away with everything just because he's a Prime" (wrong, read literally anything Barber writes) and "the Decepticons never get a sympathetic perspective, they're always just villains and the narrative is totally just treating them as if being revolutionaries makes them evil" (wrong, read several side stories that Barber wrote). Like literally the moral of the story is just "read something besides MTMTE."

And I'm not complaining about people who are just curious or don't know. I'm talking specifically about people who complain, or say MTMTE is bad, or generally act as if JRO's writing/MTMTE/LL represents the entirety of IDW1 and basically act like, if JRO didn't write it it doesn't exist and clearly since he didn't write it that means no one else did. Like please I'm begging you to read the other less popular but still good series in IDW1 and you'll find multiple stories/ideas that they tell that MTMTE/LL doesn't.

not even in the realm of 'could feasibly happen' but since Earthspark is primarily about family & legacy & community, i think it would be neat for Tracks to show up not only to provide an example, with Raoul, of an older Cybertronian who is perfectly content with assimilating into human culture and has found a place within it for himself, but also as a cautionary tale, w/ Decepticon brother, about what conflict like the war can do to a family

the more I think about it. like yknow in bayverse Megatron and Optimus being ACTUAL related brothers could mean just as much as a usual romantic relationship but they just. didn't do anything with it. they're not even brothers.

Never ever ever been on a more helpful information site before. Its clearly made with love and passion for everything transformers related. And the distinct lack of ads blocking your view from deep dive reading also are huge pointers.

First actual casualty was Swindle, he had been fighting against the new Bots when he realized Tero was Thrash and as he went to flop sides Arcee and Novastorm shot Jim killing him almost instantly

Twitch is going to need so many appointments with Rung after the war is over

After the war just before Optimus comes back Megatron spends time comforting Elita over their husband's death because they both miss him

Hashtag will never forgive Twitch for what happened while she was imprisoned

Bumblebee and Breakdown get a soft reunion after the war

He is the anxiety man, if he was a decepticon 2.0 I think it'd be worse on his anxiety... Which might be extra angst

The great thing about the IDW1 fandom is how easily you can identify mfs who haven't read anything besides MTMTE/LL because a lot of them have some of the worst possible black-and-white opinions about story elements that really aren't that great lmao

this is a genuine and fr question, and the answer might be extremely and blatantly obvious, but either (1) my brain can't manifest it or (2) I've just been looking in the wrong places. Are there any official Decepticon-centric stories? Like exclusively Decepticon-centric? Media that takes place during the war and mainly focuses on the Decepticon's side of things? I haven't found any, but I sure do hope so. I feel like the 'Cons are really interesting and have a lot of potential for creating something fresh. To have a cast with Decepticon main characters, new to the transformers narrative or not, as they kind of weave their way through whatever comes at them is something that both my brother and I feel would be awesome to see as a series of its own than in little snippets or individual installments. If not, that's cool. I'll do it myself.
