the best toh au i have ever come across is the defanged philip au
purely on the basis that it has introduced me to the concept of philip being what you call a "homosexual, but seeing as he was raised by puritans in the 1600s, he is unaware of that not being the norm"
basically, in short; my mans doesnt realise straight plp are a thing, he just thinks plp pair off into het pairs for procreation purposes in adulthood.
i consider this both a peak of writing and comedy, and more aus/headcanons should incorporate it.

How do you feel about those who woobify villains? You know, make them do or say things that make them seem cute or soft or defang them? This can be about any villain, but I'm mostly asking you about Belos / Philip.
to “woobify” a character is usually “to make you feel extremely sorry for them.”
Also means
“to woobify,” means to give morally ambiguous characters pure, precious, and almost immature characteristics.
Me, personally, I don't care as long as it's done in an au and the person knows / acknowledges that they're not like that in canon.
I agree with a lot of your mentality.
I don’t own the character, and I’m not going to really police how people should enjoy a character. They aren’t hurting anyone, and it’s not going to magically make him an amazing or undo what he is in canon. I just agree that people who woobify characters just need to remember that’s not who they are in canon.
