Little Cupcakes

Let me begin this blow by reviewing the cupcake that started it all, Little Cupcakes. The location is perfect, in a cute little lane off Flinders St along a row of other cafes. Melbournians like their coffee, so in every corner of the city, you can always find a small cafe tucked in away from the hustle and bustle.

The shop offers a range of a flavours but my two favourites are coconut and lemon. I have sampled their other flavours and particularly fond of their red velvet and belgian chocolate although the frosting is a tad too sweet for my taste. However, those are flying off the shelves.

What I like about little cupcake is that the cake part is still moist and the frosting is in perfect consistency, not too thick but not runny either. These cupcakes are fresh, baked by the owners early morning. I have tried leaving them for a few days in room temperature, they still tasted great, although the cake part gets a tiny bit dry.

Little cupcake sells their tiny delicious scrumptious cakes in two sizes, mini ($2.20, 4cm diameter) and regular ($4.00/$4.50, 6m diameter). In terms of pricing, I must admit, they are not cheap, but definitely worth a try. I recommend the mini to sample a few different flavours.
