Sugadeaux
Besides Little Cupcakes (see previous post), my other go-to for cupcakes order in Melbourne is Sugadeaux. Similar to other cupcakes bakery, Sugadeaux offers her cupcakes in two sizes, mini ($1.95) and regular ($3.50). This particular bakery have no shop so interested parties have to order by email 48 hours before. The order has to be in a single flavour batch of 12 regular cupcakes or 24 mini cupcakes. Perfect if you are having a get together. If you just want to try without committing to finish 12 cupcakes, Amsterdam St Cafe in Richmond do stock them regularly.
One wonderful thing about Sugadeaux is that they have seasonal flavours. I like trying new things, so usually those are the ones that I order. They have changed a few names on the list since I moved away but currently here are some flavours that is on the menu: Maltesers, Peach Sweet Tea, PB&J and Mexican Chili Choc. My favourite, pink champagne is no longer on the menu. Of course they have the standard flavours such as red velvet, vanilla and lemon. Everyone that have tried their salted caramel raved about it!
The cake part of the cupcake is moist but the icing part is a bit sugary but not too sweet. Definitely worth a try!

Little Cupcakes
Let me begin this blow by reviewing the cupcake that started it all, Little Cupcakes. The location is perfect, in a cute little lane off Flinders St along a row of other cafes. Melbournians like their coffee, so in every corner of the city, you can always find a small cafe tucked in away from the hustle and bustle.
The shop offers a range of a flavours but my two favourites are coconut and lemon. I have sampled their other flavours and particularly fond of their red velvet and belgian chocolate although the frosting is a tad too sweet for my taste. However, those are flying off the shelves.
What I like about little cupcake is that the cake part is still moist and the frosting is in perfect consistency, not too thick but not runny either. These cupcakes are fresh, baked by the owners early morning. I have tried leaving them for a few days in room temperature, they still tasted great, although the cake part gets a tiny bit dry.
Little cupcake sells their tiny delicious scrumptious cakes in two sizes, mini ($2.20, 4cm diameter) and regular ($4.00/$4.50, 6m diameter). In terms of pricing, I must admit, they are not cheap, but definitely worth a try. I recommend the mini to sample a few different flavours.

And the journey begins.
Cliche title. Thinking long and hard (haha..) about what to write as my first post but I couldn't come up with anything witty or interesting, so let me just start by introducing the blog and what it is all about.
The journey has started long before today, way before the cupcake craze infiltrate our lovely town, Jakarta. I always had a sweet tooth but never a big fan of cakes. It is too filling to eat one slice in one sitting. Then I found my answer in a little shop along Degraves Street, Melbourne. A little shop appropriately named Little Cupcakes. It was the first time I found the existence of bite sized tiny cakes! Imagine my excitement, that must be how Christopher Colombus felt when he landed on America. Okay, that was over-dramatic. But from then on, I became a loyal customer for years!
The the dreaded happened.. Come time for me to move back home.
So now here I am, a girl on a quest to find the best cupcake this town has to offer.
Goodbye Little Cupcakes, you will surely be missed.
