just saw ur post about twst and im really glad im not the only one and tbh, i really dont know how to feel about this twst having an anime because i know it will become more toxic. i was really traumatized by my previous fandom (haikyuu) and i decide to leave there cuz its not the same anymore. :/

I'm mixed about the anime. Of course I'm glad twst is getting recognition and getting an anime adaptation. And it'll be something Disney puts their name on so I doubt it would lack animation quality wise (I don't believe we know the animation studio yet?). Just think about how the Star Wars Visions anime looks, it's very pretty. And I would think the voice actors would be reprising their roles (though I know some are famous for other roles and can be busy). My main nervousness is the fandom. Or what will become of it.

It so far looks like it will be a Disney+ Japan exclusive so, like the game, outside of Japan you will have to find "work arounds". Disney Japan and Disney are different (you can look into park history), for example villain recruiters were an exclusively Tokyo Disney act and I doubt you'll ever find twst merch for sale in Disneyland.

We have already seen how bad the fandom is with it solely being a game. The amount of "bad adults", harassment, death threats, lewding of characters and other stuff against normal morals (too much to list and don't wanna trigger people). And it seems like every other month there is a new person getting called out for bad behavior (I would say names but there are so many...). The animation would bring more people like that (just think of the replies under the Thomas Sanders tweet from way back when and how fast fake information spreads).

And depending on what is even animated will depend how characters are portrayed. We still do not know how or if they will include Yuu. And if it's just the main story, the sub stories that allowed us to fall in love with the characters' personalities won't be animated. It can also turn into some sort of elitism for those who played the game versus those only watched the anime.

To wrap up my feelings before this gets even longer: I am excited for the anime but I'm fearful as to what will happen to the fandom. My mind instantly goes to Diabolik Lovers with how the fandom was with the game versus how it was when it became an anime (and who we got from that fandom....) I'm fearful that people won't get into the story as an anime, rather they'll just see pretty boys and discard the characteristics that make them unique. This anime will bring in new fans who will create amazing new content and have wonderful new ideas, but I also know it will bring in bad new people. And we've all seen just how much damage one person can do in the twisted wonderland fandom.

I tend to stick to my mutuals and filter what I want to see, but I know not everyone does that. And I know how many minors are in this fandom. I just don't want to see more people get hurt. Be excited for the anime, but be prepared for some people who will inevitably bring in more toxicity. Stay safe.

i saw someone on BSD tiktok make a tiktok of fake tweets which the characters would post if they learned X character (chuuya in this one, my main inspiration) committed suicide. so, i got thinking...
