i think that if the general aragonese population found out about the etymology of baturro (bato aka 'stupid' + urro which is a derogative suffix) they would try to explain it away with "well, we've reclaimed it now". but reclamation can only happen if you actually know the meaning of the word and how its used against you. or they would say that no one cares about the original meaning of the word anymore. because thats how much aragonese people (especially zaragozanos) hate ourselves

#we only bring out the regionalisms 'co!' 'chipado' 'rasmia' when we have something to prove against foreigners #we dont do it out of love for ourselves or our country (aragon. not spain) we do it.... well idk. self hatred and thinking that were d #different* but not /that/ different. not like those pesky annoying catalans and basques.......#truly pais de pandereta i feel like im in a fucking nightmare everytime i see how normal ppl (ppl i personally know) act with our history #and culture. truly makes me want to cry #z xarre
