You say the words in a hushed tone, saying it directly and not just repeating it in your head makes it feel real, your shoulder feels heavy as if someone put imaginary stones on it, and all those depressing thoughts, and the stress clouds your head again and you feel like you’re being pulled underwater, slowly losing your ability to breathe. 

Your shoulder sags as you let out a shaky breath, before taking a deep breath, trying to imitate that breathing exercise that you’ve seen on social media, but you know it’s not working. As much as you want it to, you always fail before the timer ends.

“Should I put the food in the fridge then?” 

You lift your head up to look at Chan, before looking at the plates in his hand. You didn’t expect Chan to listen or even reply to your question, and by his question you doubt he knows what you really meant. 

“You should go eat, Chan, I’m just gonna go to bed,”

He looks at you with wide eyes, before his brows furrows and his lips start to pout. You don’t like how he looks right now, sure it’s cute but you never like making Chan sad at you.

“But I want to eat together…”

“I’m sorry sweetie, I’m just really, really tired today, and I don’t think I have the strength today,”

You hope that he doesn’t catch the double meaning behind your words, with his job and all, telling him about your stress and weighing him down with it is the last thing you want.

“Are you sick? I can order soup if you want?”

His tone may not change, but his sad expression changes to a panicked one in an instant, while his hands start to feel around your face, looking for unusual heat, comparing it to his own.

You lift your hand to stop his arm movement, before smiling at him.

“I’m fine Chan, I’m just gonna go to bed, okay? You go eat, I don’t want you to skip dinner”

You say as you stand up and walk towards the bedroom, leaving a confused Chan.

You lay down on the bed before wrapping the blanket around your frame, leaving a tiny hole around your nose so you can breathe, hoping sleep catches you fast.

A few minutes went by before you heard rustling of sheets and the blanket around your body being pulled. You turned around facing Chan’s back before he turned around, settling on his side.

“Hi”

“Hi? You finished eating already?” you asked him because Chan usually takes his time while eating.

“No, can’t eat without you, so I just eat a little,”

You feel your chest ache, he’s barely eating because of you, what kind of a partner are you?

“Besides, you’re tired, I’m tired, It’s better if we just sleep, right?”

Chan asked as he pat your head, smiling at you.

“Are you free tomorrow?” Chan asked before pulling you to closer to him.

“Uh, yeah, why?” it’s rare that Chan asked if you’re free or not, usually when he wants to go on a date he’d just ask if you want to go on a date directly.

“Let’s have a self care day tomorrow, I want you to be stress free and make you lose all that bad thought you have in your pretty little head,”

"oh, babe you're up," chan calls out as he hears the door unlock and you're met with the lights on in the living room, not that the darkness in your room already didn't tell you that the sun had already set.

you wanted to take a nap just for an hour, since it was the weekend, but also what you did not want was to sacrifice time from one of the only days that you would get with chan and you'd slept after telling him to wake you up. bad decision, really, because he never woke you up unless it was necessary.

currently you were way too much in love with him to be mad at him for not waking you up. so you sit on the couch beside him and lean your head onto his shoulder and cuddle his arms.

"feeling okay?"

"mmhm, just a little hungry. i think i'll go have the leftover pizza. what are we watching?"

"uh, i'm not sure, whatever you want?"

"i'll go grab the pizza, just put on one of your favourites,"

the favourites were movies that were very diverse in genre. both of you had some movies that you liked in common (namely, some disney movies, some ghibli movies and some romcoms that ended with you both crying on the couch) and some horror/thriller movies that you liked (and chan pretended to not be scared but you could always count on him to have a pillow on his face to save himself from witnessing jumpscares) and a few drama movies from chan's choice (that you considered way too boring and almost always dozed off in the middle of them and chan always had to carry you to the bedroom).

"should i put on frozen? frozen 2?"

there was no answer. chan was suddenly scared.

"babe?"

just what he was afraid of. the pizza box dumped in the garbage bin.

"do you care to explain what happened to my leftover pizza? that i specifically told you i wanted to eat later?"

that brings a certain excitement to your face as you turn your face to where he's resting his face on your shoulder.

after walking around a bit with holding his hand like a lifeline, he finally stops, the keypad beeps as he enters the code in, and you wondered if you were at his place, or some hotel? or somewhere? you couldn't figure it out.

and your hands fly to the knot of the cloth tied around your eyes, and you find yourself standing in the doorway of an apartment. the door was open and you could see seungkwan's sofa and his favourite coffee table. and as you finished taking in the scene of one of the most pretty living rooms you've seen - complete with big windows and a kitchen on the left side.

"what is this, kwannie?"

"uh, an apartment, my apartment to be specific. but," he bends down on one knee, and takes out the key and a note of paper which has the code to the door. "do you wanna move in with me?"

"oh my god, seungkwan,"

"is that a good oh my god, or a bad one,"

↬ There is nothing he hates more than to see you in pain. He hates that you have to go through all the discomfort and pain every single month for years on end. He’s also so sympathetic to whatever you are feeling. It’s as if your feelings and emotions are in sync with his. Seriously, he’s literally sobbing more than you during this time. When he’s with you, he’s shifting when you’re shifting in discomfort. He’s flinching and wincing when you’re writhing in pain. He’s sulking and nodding empathetically when you complain about how bad you’re feeling. 

↬ The worst part is, he feels completely helpless in this situation. He rather shoulder the burden of your cycle, transferring all the discomfort and pain to himself. Alas, he can’t. All he can do is hold you, tend to your needs, and try to kiss away any pain you are feeling. And despite you reassuring him every month that what he’s done is more than enough, that you have been well taken care of, and that you always feel better when you’re with him, it doesn’t do much to settle that helpless feeling that festers within him. So, he swears that he’s going to be the best partner ever when you are on your period! 

↬ He decides that your period = his days off from work or doing anything really. When you’re on your period, he’s extra clingy and cuddly. He wants nothing more than to be by your side as you go through your monthly torture. This is the best time to spend a few days being plastered to your side. He knows how you are feeling and what you need/ might need even before you do, bringing it to you in preparation for the exact moment that your brain registers that you need something. 

↬ He can’t even begin to fathom how you feel, and he knows that there’s nothing he experienced that could ever compare to your period. What he does know is that you’re incredibly strong for pushing through all the pain and discomfort every single month. He knows it’s no easy feat. There are so many times when he sees you hunched over in pain, or times when you’re crying because you’re just so uncomfortable. Hence, during this time, he wants to make sure you take it easy, and that you’re extra well rested. 

↬ He’s incredibly well prepared. He’s already done his research on how to help you. He might have asked his mother or his sister for advice. He’s going to be making sure you’re well hydrated, and well fed with all the nutritious food to replenish your energy and the iron in your blood. He might not be the best cook, but you can be sure that he will go the extra mile of trying to cook the food for you. If not, he will go out and purchase it for you. Besides food, he has warm blankets ready for when you’re feeling cold, and the air conditioner ready for when you’re feeling too warm.

↬  Unlike some people (ahem… the drama queens…) he accepts that periods are just something you have to live with. While the discomfort and pain due to the cramps can be debilitating at times, he knows that it’s not like you can put your whole life on pause. You have to go to work, school. Basically, you need to carry on with your life while still being on your period. He’s already very well adjusted to your routines and how to mold your lives around each other. However, during this time of the month, he tries to be even more accommodating and patient than normal.

↬  He knows you aren’t helpless. Even before you’ve met him, you have established a certain routine or standard procedure of what you want to do/ need to do when you’re on your period. You have a stock of pads/ tampons, medications, hot water bottles. You have an emergency stash of your favourite snacks that you like to eat. You even have different clothes you like to wear during your period because you’re going to be so uncomfortable and bloated. After you start dating, he takes note of all these things so he can help to ensure that you’ll have your supplies ready at all times. 

↬  Admittedly, no matter how prepared you are for trying to make yourself as comfortable as possible during your period, there are things which are completely out of control. The biggest thing which inadvertently impacts everything else, is your period hormones. You can’t tell how emotional or irritable your hormones are going to make you. Each month feels like you’re playing emotion roulette. There are times you’re extra cranky, and perhaps the environment you’re in adds to that. But it’s hard to gauge whether other people are really annoying, or whether you just perceive them that way because of your heightened senses and hormones. And then there are other times when you’re a sobbing, sad, mopey mess who feels like crying over everything (inconveniences, genuinely sad things, and happy/ cute things alike).

↬  So, because he understands that your needs are different every single month, he defers to your judgment when it comes to what you need. But, he’s not a mind reader and as empathetic as he can be, he would prefer you to use your words to tell him what you need him to do so that he can care for you as best as he can. Once you do, he’ll indulge you in whatever you need and want. Your requests could be as simple as wanting more cuddles or attention, and he’ll be sure to shower you with as much affection as you want. Or it could be more complicated, like the times you wanted food from a specific restaurant 30 minutes away from your shared apartment. He’ll gladly make the extra detour after work. Like I said, he will try his best to be accommodating and patient with you during this time. 

↬  Bonus: Of course, there are times when you have a particularly difficult time during your period. You’re exceptionally clingy and you don’t want to be away from him. When that happens, he brings you to work with him, letting you sit curled up next to him while he gets on with practice/ producing.

seungcheol is too soft for his own good. whether he has feelings for you or not, he's the type to stay around for a bit and wait until you wake up so he can say goodbye properly. will probably decline your offer of breakfast though (politely, of course).

jeonghan likes to watch you sleep, so of course he stays around too. if he's not that busy, he will also wait until you're awake to leave - but differently from cheol, he will accept your offer to eat first. now, if he has schedules that day, he'll be out the door as soon as you open your eyes.

joshua is a cutie, so he stays too. he actually wakes up after you, chasing after the sounds you're making around the house. he will be the one to offer to make breakfast or take you out to eat. it doesn't matter if he has feelings for you or not, he considers you a friend? so of course he'll treat you right (the sex is just a plus).

junhui feels kinda awkward once he wakes up. he knows he doesn't like you enough to have romantic feelings for you, so the intimacy of seeing you sleep or taking a shower with you is too overwhelming. he leaves before you wake up, but makes sure to leave a little something for you before he does.

hoshi is a heavy sleeper after sex, so chances are you'll wake up first. he's more than happy to see you still beside him scrolling through your phone as soon as he wakes up. he's the type to run his mouth about anything and everything, bonding with you beyond your steamy times. he's such a darling, he just wants you to be comfortable around him.

wonwoo is quiet, the morning after. he isn't sure if he likes you like that, but he does like your company, your body, the way you make him feel... so it always hits him, after he has sex with you, that he should figure his feelings out. he stays with you for breakfast too, grateful for the way mornings are usually quiet around you. he leaves with a heavy heart before lunch though, but knowing damn well he'll come back to your bed soon.

there's no morning after with woozi, as he leaves in the middle of the night, both because he can't sleep and he doesn't know how to deal with the "aftwards", especially if he doesn't love you. he's not an asshole though, so he texts you an apology when he knows you're awake and tells you that it was fun seeing you again, and that you should definitely go visit him on his studio sometime.

dokeyom is similar to hoshi, i think. he just wants you to be comfortable around him, so he's just his sunshine form when he's around you the morning after. he also stays, for as long as he can/you will have him, but always tell you "hey, i can go whenever you want" - no, dokyeom, you can't. you want to stay. you know you do.

mingyu is the type to wake up earlier than you, take a shower (because of course he already feels at home with you), and then proceed to make you something to eat. he shyly smiles when you come find him in your kitchen. even though the relationship he has with you is mainly sexual, his mom didn't raise a player - so he'll pay you back for having him on your bed somehow.

minghao stays with you. there's this spoken thing between the two of you, where you're not truly fwb but also you're not mere acquaintances - so he's comfortable enough to sleep next to you, but draws the line when it comes to breakfast together. he's out the door as soon as he has taken a shower (alone, of course).

seungkwan leaves as soon as he wakes up, not because he wants to, but because he's most likely late for something. he definitely texts you later, thanking you for the night and promising to see you soon. might also send something to your house, like your favorite dessert or something, since he couldn't stay as he usually does.

vernon doesn't stay. if he doesn't have feelings for you he's more than grateful that you let him have his way with you and always make sure to not be a player, and that includes leaving (it's not right after though, he takes his time to calm down and if you are already asleep by the time he decides to leave, he wakes you up. he will never leave without telling you so).

dino stays because he wants to be with you. i can't see this sweet boy not falling in love or getting obsessed with you, so deal with it. will crack jokes just to see you smile in the morning, and already knows how you like your coffee/tea. his smile falters when you tell him you have plans for the day, a polite way to tell him he can't stay for too long.

HOR YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT I myself had to debate between Mukuro & Gokudera for my own answer (because as much as I love the bfe fantasy of wearing Squalo's coat I just felt like I wanted to go for something that would mesh well with my personal style). Mukuro has absolutely been depicted in some fire fits and I looove his affinity for leather and latex and thigh high boots...

We absolutely cannot deny that Dino is the type to toss over yet another loosely fitted t-shirt to you whenever you ask for one (and they're pretty plain but at least they're super soft??). I can so imagine you exclusively wearing his shirts post hookup and never actively seeking them but anywaaay-- With that said, I definitely think that the Dino closet-raiders in chat are going for the comfy and functional look. The sheer number of pockets on this man's outfits is everything. No doubt that he has a selection of tailored eveningwear for special occasions, but his daily wear is so... mammal biologist fieldwork slay, imo.
