So alien dinosaur people have invaded your planet and are wreaking havoc all over, displacing or killing any human they come across with ease. How do you manage to survive an encounter with these beasts? Here's a list of tips to help you live through an alien apocalypse!

DO NOT engage a dinaurian in battle form if you can help it, even if you have access to weapons. Getting close to one just to attempt to use a melee weapon is a death sentence. Using a long-ranged weapon like a firearm will have little effect. The monsters are essentially bullet-proof in their battle forms.

If you NEED to kill a dinaurian, kill them outside of battle form, when they are more humanoid, as they are significantly more vulnerable.

If you have no choice but attempt to fend off a dinaurian in battle form, aim your weapon at an open mouth. Their insides are not as durable as their outsides.

Always move in the densest cover you can find, as their eyes are sharp.

Stay downwind, as their noses are keen.

Move as silently as you can, as their ears are extremely sensitive.

Move alone or in small groups. It's harder to locate a single human, but a group provides increased vigilance.

If confronted, try your best to appear as helpless and non-threatening as possible. They are less likely to kill an unarmed human.

Try to flatter them. They are arrogant and when you appeal to their horrible sense of perceived superiority, they will go easier on you and may even let you go.

Do not reveal your name, current residence, or the locations of other humans to any dinaurians.

A dinaurian hunting you can potentially be lured into natural traps or dangerous animals. Venomous animals like certain snakes or bugs can stop a hostile dinaurian in their tracks, or at least buy you time to get away. Note this doesn't really work while they are in battle form.

AVOID DINOMATONS UNLESS YOU ARE HEAVILY ARMED.

Dinomatons cannot be reasoned with. They kill indiscriminately, and pack devastating firepower. They are also incredibly numerous. Thankfully they are not very stealthy and have relatively poor senses. If you hear the clanking of machinery and heavy footfalls, turn the other way.

If you are lucky enough to get ahold of a vivosaur, congrats on becoming a Fossil Fighter, fighting back is far more feasible now. You should still only engage dinaurians if absolutely necessary. Your vivosaur can be healed if returned to their medals, but only before they sustain fatal damage. Do not get your best weapon and companion killed.

Fossil Fighters should not travel with vivosaurs outside of their medals. Active vivosaurs can comprise your position.

As a Fossil Fighter, try to step in to defend those who are being attacked by dinaurians.

Last but not least, as a Fossil Fighter, try to collaborate with other fighters to find a way to stop the invasion. You are our best way to get us out of this mess.

B-Ptera Propaganda:

I try to match up viviosaurs to avoid heavily imbalanced matchups, but the alternative was B-Ptera against Salada, and I don’t know if Salada has enough popularity to make the matchup fair.

That being said, I LOVE both vivos for their designs, and the crescent moon on B-Ptera is absolutely mesmerizing. That design was MADE for that one cutscene, you know the one.

Gnomes!

What makes a gnome?

At least in Magic, I would argue it is three key features, being an artifact creature, having a round body, and having a pointy hat. Only one card in the main magic universe is a living gnome, who is neither so sorry Quarum Trench Gnome I don't consider you a real gnome, at least for the standard of magic design.

For me the most iconic gnome is the Mirrodin version of Bottle Gnomes (mainly fueled by childhood nostalgia, I loved that flavor text) This merry band has the bulbous body and integrated hat and head design that was first shown in the original Bottle Gnomes, and later became the standard for new gnomes, see the new art for Ticking Gnomes and Clockwork Gnomes

Now this brings us to the biggest influx of our favorite round lads, Ixalan has secretly been hiding hoards of them underground, arguably the natural environment of the gnome, this whole time. This new iteration brings a new design unique to the plane, similar to the way goblins got a new look but kept the most important traits these new Mesoamerican inspired gnomes have the key traits of a good gnome. The pointy hat and the rotund shape. Market Gnome even has refreshments!

There are two exceptions so far in the spoiler season, Dinomaton and Tetzin, Gnome Chamion.

Dinomaton is leaning more into it's dinosaur half for it's structure while it's composition certainly is the same materials as the other gnomes. Tetzin on the other hand does have the body type but is lacking the needed hat, but simply that is because Tetzin IS the hat!
