Hey! Do you know where the behind the scenes footage for Havana Nights went? I can't find it on YouTube anymore. You're our only hope.
You mean this one?

Research gone too far
So, in the wake of Rogue One and the never ending heartache it brought me, I'm currently watching Dirty Dancing: Havanna Nights.

On 14 March our friends had caught up on the sleep they had lacked the night on their arrival. After two hot and sunny days it was hard for us to accept that it was raining when we woke up. The breakfast however at our Casa Particular was to all of our satisfaction and with energy in our bellies we seized the day. We went over to Fabian to introduce the new arrivals to his three lovely girls. Right when we wanted to leave it started to drizzle. The situation was saved and the time was bridged with a Havanna Club rum. Fabian claimed that it was always good to have a bit of a buzz in Cuba. Miraculously the rain had stopped when we had finished our drink and off we went on our on foot “touri-tour” hitting up all the main sights of Habana Centro and Vieja (UNESCO World Heritage Site) like Plaza de Armas, Plaza Vieja, Plaza de la Catedral, Calle Mercaderes, Calle Opispo, Capitolio Nacional. We certainly got our exercise in for the day as we walked a lot. The city and its vibes are absolutely breathtaking. I think I speak for all of us when I say we have never experienced anything comparable. A bit to the side and way from the main attractions and the Prado the city is dirty and all over town the colonial style buildings are suffering and often falling apart. Yet, the way the people live and interact in this “mess” is absolutely captivating. With the American oldtimer cars omni present it stresses that all has came to a halt around the 1960ties. On one hand, Havanna is all what I pictured it to be in terms of looks but I could not envision what it would feel like. We admire Fabian and how he has chosen to live here as none of us could. The lifestyle is too simple. Nevertheless, it is simply a fascinating place comparable to nothing else. After dinner at Castropol, where the fish of the day was not to any of our liking, we negotiated a 10 CUK cab ride in an oldtimer to the Tropicana Nightclub (it has to be mentioned that the reliable driver also picked us up again and drove us back home for the same price). Jayneylis had been so sweet to make a reservation for us five at one of the oldest and most famous cabaret shows in town. It has existed since 1939 and since its peak-time in the 1950ies little seems to have changes. The show started at 10pm and lasted about midnight. It was an outdoor venue and as shortly after the start it started to lightly rain we feared the show would have to be canceled. The staff however started to serve us a glace of sparkling wine and then brought bottles of coke and rum and sat them on the tables. We five had received a 1-liter bottle of Havanna Club (7 year old) and by 1am when the lively dance show with its artistic dancers covered in fancy outfits and the after show party was done only one-third of the bottle was left……I guess we do not have to mention at this point that we had a blast that night. For some of us however the next morning was a bit rougher than for others!
