#disney descendants vfd
Note
I was wondering, for your descendants au, how you it be like if it was the reverse? Like if the Baudelaire +Friday were the villain kids and the Quagmires, Fiona, and Carmelita were not?
hmm. tryin to think of what their parents would be. i feel like…
Auradon!Quagmires - Rapunzel and Eugene (Tangled)
For Duncan: Strong sense of justice, huge amount of importance placed on the truth and honesty, the need to know the full story, sense of being “trapped,” corvid pet(s) [Hamuel from the TV series]
For Isadora: Spunk and impulsiveness, love of reading and stories, sense of being “trapped,” corvid pet(s) [Hamuel from the TV series]
For Quigley: Desire to travel and explore, creative and artistic, y’all know for a fact he would take after Eugene in literally everything
Auradon!Fiona - Ariel and Eric (The Little Mermaid)
Nautical theme, but Ariel wants to leave the ocean and has a collection of things her Dad doesn’t approve of
Auradon!Carmelita - Mérida Dunbroch (Brave)
Red hair, fierce independence, quick to fight and stand up for herself
VK!Baudelaires - Hades (Hercules)
Horrible luck, surrounded by death, however very quick-witted, adaptable, and ambitious. Sunny also has her Dad’s temper, and her and Violet tend to have their hair on fire a lot. Klaus, meanwhile, just likes to sit and play with Cerberus.
VK!Friday - Mother Gothel (Tangled)
Sense of being trapped by a deceitful parental figure, only being able to escape current circumstances by reading about places she can’t go to, Friday with Moon!Powers [TV series] would be super sick
VK!Bea - Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
this is just cause that would, according to D3 lore, make the Baudelaires her half-siblings and also would totally mean they kidnap her and bring her to Auradon with them
also dragon!bea… amazing

(Descendents au) How will everyone react once they realize that if Violet and Quigley marry, Quigley, boy who can use magic, become a dragon at will, and a villains son, becomes king.
Friday: Isn’t that cool, you can totally protect the Kingdom by turning into a dragon and burning the enemies of-
Quigley: bold of you to assume Violet’s not doing the protecting
Violet, loading a trebuchet: love ya
Some prick: um should we really be letting maLEFICENT’S SON rule our BELOVED KINGDOM
Quigley: good question, ask Violet
Violet, holding his hand while loading a shotgun: yes
Quigley: well you heard her

How did descendents Quiglet Date go at the enchanted lake?
See here’s the thing
Violet is a princess- the Crown Princess- so since she was old enough to think about romance, her parents drilled into her head, If you ever get a sudden intense crush, first date at the enchanted lake that washes away spells, so she didn’t get love-potioned.
So when she goes swimming and the potion washes away, she feels less intense, but she kinda. already had a crush on Quigley? and that scene from the movie happens where Quigley can’t find her so he jumps into the lake to find her and can’t swim so Violet’s thinking “I mean... he hasn’t tried anything, and he seems like he legit cares... maybe he just doesn’t know how to express affection and thought love potion would work?”
So again, we get that movie scene where she’s like “um, I said I loved you. Do you... love me?” And he kinda glances away and says “I don’t know what love is” and she’s just like that’s it he’s staying my bf
Klaus is so fucking mad at her but she’s like “listen, I’m pretty sure it was just him not understanding the morality behind it. He literally has just been being nice to me and bringing me flowers, he hasn’t tried anything bad so I think my theory’s right, so I’ll just make sure he doesn’t do this again.”
So like they’ll be chatting and she’ll just be like “Hey you know what’s immoral? Love potions.” And Quigley, who thinks she’s still love-potioned (because why else would she still like him...) has fuckin whiplash

In descendants, is their goin to be that one people that questions why everyone is singing?
No, this is just a fact of the world. Though Friday (as her parents are from Atlantis) will crack jokes about not being “taught” to sing or sew dresses or talk to animals, and instead being taught how to beat the shit outta people

Since you said no to the Quagmires having horns could they have wings (movie maleficent)? And I apologize if I overstep my bounds by saying this but even if they have horn, one should not judge a persons religion, gender, or ethnicity just by their looks. So if anything I see the horns as an empowering crown and not a devils symbol.
While I agree that horns are super cool and I love them, it actually is a damaging Jewish stereotype to depict them with horns; as a goy, I am not in a position to judge or dismiss this, and as I am very careful to depict Jewish characters as respectfully as possible, I’m going to avoid horns altogether. You can read more about it here, here and here.
They don’t currently have wings in their human form but they can shift to dragon. Honestly it’d be super cool to see them just chillin with dragon wings, might do that at some point...

So was it isadora or Quigley that came up with the idea to give Violet a love potion in Desendents?
Quigley, actually. At what I have in the outline rn, Klaus mentions off-handedly to Duncan and Friday that each of the royal family can invite a plus one, but Violet doesn’t think she’ll bring anyone bc she doesn’t wanna pick between friends, “unless she suddenly gets a date.” Duncan mentions this to Quigley, who’s like “well. okay. that’ll work”
(Friday is Sunny’s plus one and she’s so pumped about it)

How do you imagine the descendants characters singing as?
I’m not sure what the question is, but I will say that there is singing in the fic; basically the kids live in a world where randomly bursting into song is normal, but there are a couple known songs- Violet and Klaus like to sing Beauty and the Beast related songs, the Quag triplets are forbiddden from “Once Upon a Dream”, etc.
Also we do have a couple Descendants songs sprinkled in. for example-

⭐️each au⭐️ Violet + Quigley⭐️ thoughts and reasons⭐️
GOD THAT’S SO MANY AUS I’M JUST GONNA PICK ONE
Descendants AU, when it started, was a tossup of Viodora and Quiglet, as all the triplets were Maleficent’s kids so we could have either of the ones attracted to girls be Violet’s partner for the Bal subplot. I eventually settled on Quiglet bc a) fiodora is fucking adorable, b) it kinda... gave him something to do? like he was the strategist but not the leader and so with viodora he just kinda fell to the wayside plotwise.
Viodora’s still adorable as hell tho

⭐️ Friday 6bau
I feel like I’ve already mentioned how her being saved was a spur-of-the-moment thing, in that I realized halfway through writing her visiting the Bauds that it wouldn’t make sense to give her the book ending, but fun fact: i did consider having her still leave the island, swimming with Ink to the outrigger to deliver the apples
I eventually changed it because I realized, well, what better way to end a fic doubling the amount of Baudelaires than to double the amount of kids they adopt

something you want to talk about either from descendants au or should I stay au!
well @thebigbadbrickgang and I just sorted the Snow Scouts as Auradon kids so I can write in background characters! Which is a little necessary, we can’t have the only Auradon kids be Baudelaires and Friday
They’re all named after their actors and I gave them some special interests, which u might’ve noticed on my WeHeartIt lol
Quick recap, with the names they have on the wiki:
Snow Scout #1 - Princess Chloe of Arendelle, daughter of Queen Anna and King Kristoff (Frozen / Frozen II)
Snow Scout #2 - Asia Hawkins, daughter of Jim Hawkins (Treasure Planet)
Snow Scout #3 - Princess Baya Charming, daughter of Queen Cinderella and King Henry Charming (Cinderella)
Snow Scout #4 - Prince Jaedon of Prydain, son of King Taran and Queen Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron)
Snow Scout #5 - Mamie, daughter of Hercules and Megara (Hercules)
Snow Scout #6 - Stephen Darling, son of Wendy Darling (Peter Pan / Return to Neverland)
Snow Scout #7 - Emerson, daughter of the Blue Fairy (Pinocchio)
Nervous Scout - Maya, daughter of the Genie (Aladdin / Aladdin 2019)

⭐️Decendants⭐️
I debated for a while whether or not I wanted the fic to be a musical but well. not to spoil anything but we’re getting singing in this.
Also fun fact for when I eventually publish this fic! Each chapter title is taken from lyrics of Disney songs. And some of them are gonna be more obscure than others. Some fun examples:

Who’s the main villain in your descendants au?
In the first fic, the one I have planned, the main villains are the VKs’ parents- especially Maleficent. All the VKs are highkey traumatized from the different forms of abuse they were put through and scared that if they don’t complete their mission they’ll get punished, without realizing that they can actually get help from the Auradon people if they ask...

In the Descendants au is the Quagmire triplets father Hades? Or is their father just some random guy and no one knows who he is?
You see, I made this AU BEFORE d3 was released so I was following book!canon and having their dad be a human, but... now that d3′s out, I like the idea of Quigley having slightly more blue-tinted magic than green... maybe Isadora’s hair lights up a little when she’s pissed... idk what for Duncan maybe he sometimes sees ghosts and freaks everyone out by informing them of that
