District Line at South Kensington
South Kensington is a busy station on the District and Circle Lines of the London Underground. These are among the oldest routes of the Underground network and were built using cut and cover construction. The platforms on the District/Circle Lines at South Kensington are largely open air with tunnel entrances at both ends and classic canopies covering the platforms which makes for a classic…

ik this is an incredibly lame observation, but it feels very apparent that the design of elendel was based on ebenezer howard’s idea of an urban utopia - the garden city
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it mimics the structure of a garden city by having the very concentric and intentional canals and streets that divide the city into different sectors. it has the main roads that follow the grand avenue structure, even if the smaller streets divert entirely from the grid structure that howard posited for the entire city. and with the field and government buildings in central city, it mimics the intent to have green space and “public” buildings as the centroid. and where the garden city wanted to have a grand canal bisecting the city, instead it’s the irongate river. but the other canals do follow the geometric pattern suggested by howard, even to the extent of these canals connecting the rest of the elendel basin to elendel itself.

Part 13 in shipping different railway companies together.
C2C is alone. She does not want to be alone but that point gets misunderstood by the other folk. C2C is asexual but romantic and still wants to find that special someone but she generally doesn't get out there that much and doesn't really know anyone.
She has been acquainted to her neighbours, Greater Anglia whom she sees as obnoxious and slow, Elizabeth Line whom she doesn't know very well and London Overground, whom she is probably closest but if you think she desires a relationship with her, you are Barking up the wrong tree.
C2C probably was best understood by the Metropolitan District Railway, who is long since gone.

My cottage in Bakewell. Smena 8M. Kentmere Pan 100.
Whilst in Bakewell I rented an old railway building. I was unsure as to what other use this building could be if not a holiday let. it was practically one room with an attached shower room. There was not even a proper kitchen and I slept on a sofa bed. However it was conveniently located, cosy and the railway themed decor was pretty cool. It was suitable for a solo trip and I am considering a return.
I could not resist snapping a few shots after checking if the light was suitable with an iPhone app. Had it not been for nice weather and the fact that I could open the aperture to f4 I may not have got anything.

Metrolink and Coaster - downtown San Diego
A Metrolink transit set making a rare visit to the downtown San Diego Santa Fe Station. The trainset was on loan to Amtrak who had some of their own equipment in the Northwest. A Coaster train sits to the right waiting for its next northbound departure.
