li jieyong. A+ student, always at the top (or near the top) of his class, good w/ ppl, blahblahblah he’s seen as Perfect bleh, annoying, amirite?

the way i see jieyong is kinda like,,, elysium poster boy. the guy parents point to and are like “you should be more like him”

and he deff knows that he’s looked up to and also seen as competition, but he’s actually pretty friendly n cool abt it and is generally humble too

he’s actually really laid back, kind, and will stick up for u if he sees ur being picked on

he’s really close to his family, who have been a part of elysium since its start. his siblings and him get along well, they enjoy each other’s company, and he feels lucky to have them

but ofc he’s not really perfect. and u kno, bitch is a gemini so he’s actually kinda shady

he street races on the dl under the alias “shadow” (wears a helmet and everything to keep his identity hidden, v headass ik) and races sporadically so he doesn’t get caught. he also does drugs sometimes at parties and it’s like yeet, rich kid on his rich kid bullshit if u kno what i mean

but all the sus illegal stuff he does is super secret, he’s v smart about it and makes sure that he never gets caught bcs hell if he did, his parents would probs not let him be a company exec, they’re strict like tht

so he kinda has this image to uphold and at the is point in his life, kinda willing to throw some ppl under the bus to make sure it goes untainted

thts probably his major flaw, how inconsistent he is. like yea he’s cool and everything, as long as you don’t get in the way of whats imp to him

he’s a nice dude and isn’t bad w/ commitment, but he’s not very good w/ his Feelings and definitely doesn’t readily open up to ppl. in fact, there’s probably very little tht ppl actually know abt him bcs he keeps his personal problems mostly hidden

adding on more to the sus stuff, he p much had a field day when he studied abroad at uc berkley in california over the summer. most ppl there didn’t rlly know who he was so he practically got to do whatever the hell he wanted and had a good ass time

however, being in that area, he noticed a lot of the protests going on and it really got him to question everything he does basically

lowkey beginning to think,, what’s the point of all this actually? and it’s v dangerous thinking for someone in his position so it’s kinda like Yikes!

he’s played soccer when he was young and was pretty good at it but his mom was scared he’d get hurt and was like “you don’t need to play professionally, it’s only a hobby” and only let him play w/ his brothers and cousins in the backyard

he’s p outdoorsy and adventurous. loves nature, probs would prefer to live somewhere Not in the city but doesn’t mind it a whole lot

born and raised in south korea, nari’s mom was a model and her father a heir, director of a family company & they would hardly go broke any time soon. the thing is, there was a 43 year old gap between her mom and her dad,,, do there’s that. it was love. sure.

her dad was 79 when she was born, and only lived long to see his daughter become a pianist, the way he always dreamed her to be. he passed away in 2001, and it was her mother’s delight. 

she had always been neglected by her own mother, and when she no longer had her father to back her up, she was alone in the world. coincidentally, it was in the same time she had graduated from school, and she had gotten into harvard, thankfully. 

there she found a sense of belonging, she still played the piano when she managed to escape to the arts department, but numbers became her best friends -- in her finance & statistic course, she saw her future. and there, she found someone, too.

a boyfriend that would, hopefully, become her fiancee soon; she had seen the little velvet box in his luggage as they were packing to go to korea, finally meet her mother. she was over the moon, she couldn’t wait for this to happen. 

but after the encounter, she caught herself waiting for the proposal -- days passed, dinners passed, one too many opportunities passed & she didn’t understand why. until she saw why. 

her mother had always been vile in her eyes -- had always competed with her in a way that she didn’t comprehend; and that’s why she left in the first place. that time around, she crossed the line. one night she had woken up with an empty side of the bed and an incredible thirst -- only to find something that she would rather not. 

to see her boyfriend in her mother’s bed was the end of it all -- she understood why the ring he had bought for her never came to rest in her finger, and she also understood that her mother would always drain everything that made her happy. so, she would do the same. 

because of her name and because she was to inherit everything, it was easy to find a job -- even though that job was in macau. a stock broker, a trader; something that would enable her to do what her father always feared. she would make her mom go broke. 

she was moved by revenge, and since money and making her miserable were the things her mother loved the most, she would take that pleasure from her. she plummeted the actions of her own family company; she dragged her own legacy through the dirty -- but in the meantime, she had created a safety measure, and all the money that her dad left for her to share with her mother, became only hers. 

her mother learned that nothing could stop her daughter -- nothing. she went after her for money, and nari only greeted her with a smile and the sound of her heels on the floor as she left her begging on the hallway of her apartment. 

people saw her hunger for money; people heard of what she has done with her own money in order to get even more, and that interested them, inticed them, and soon enough people whispered another thing as she passed -- elysium. 

she took care of the finances of the infamous group, and what people didn’t know, is that all the dirty money made by them was soon cleaned, if  passed by her hands. a money launderer, a forger, their mother with the allowance & like midas, everything she touched turned to gold. 

but how far will her ambition go?

& they say she is a dichotomy, two things in one. alluring and convincing, that’s how she secures people of everything. she is pleasant and people are often drawn to her, but in reality, under that glossed version of herself she’s this power-hungry, brazen person.

& she changed a lot after she found out that her boyfriend cheated on her with her own mother, which made her obsessed with destroying her mom in that sense, too. this tell a lot about nari’s personality, she’s driven by her own desires, especially the ugliest ones. 

& and because of that people should not cross her, and if they do, she will enjoy a whole lot the entire process of destroying them. 

& nari can be pleasant, if she wants to. it’s a little difficult but once you earn her truth, she will soften slightly more. 

& she takes care of the finances in elysium, their investments and everything that keeps their accounts running -- meaning that she also makes their money clean, and forges all types of documents necessary. 

& she is literally their mom with the allowance, and because of that she doesn’t care much about the hierarchy system they have.

& nari is pretty trashy, i am sorry. she sees a lot of her mom in her, and she really hates it, but she has to deal with it.

comes from a family of hardcore elysiums with massive wealth and huge influence in the entertainment industry. lived in macau his whole life bc his parents moved there just before he was born

was a piece of shit growing up and straight up poison to his family’s reputation. his parents put a lot of pressure on him and his sibling but he didn’t care and was always getting in trouble for reckless things like street racing, getting kicked out of bars/clubs, gambling, etc

tabloids loved having a field day with him and still do every now and then

he finished undergrad at 19 and law school at 22 because he’s used his (1) brain cell to good use and was like fuck u to everyone that doubted him 

cut off his family after they finished paying for his education. drained an account for funds, downloaded a ton of incriminating files, started his career as a lawyer for the cicadas and boom here we are

he has one other sibling, and they’re in elysium along with his parents (yuck!)

main goal is overthrowing elysium bc he hates it and ruining his fam’s livelihood in the process--two birds with one stone :-)

personality-wise

he’s a pain in the ass tbh like i’m annoyed already

loves money. but loves himself so much more

is a manipulative lil shit and thats why he’s a great lawyer

pretty outgoing in general, could probably talk to a wall for an hour

will always be honest and brutally blunt with you (but will lie to you and twist the truth if it will benefit him)

enjoys gambling, illegal racing and ALCOHOL ! not unusual for him to be drunk at like noon after dismissing a case (is in the best mood when doing any of those three)

is likely to tell you he hates you–that’s a great thing, if he cares enough to hate you (prob means he loves u)

will punch u in the face if u tell him he can't do something and will do it 

shitty with relationships. literally will avoid that like the plague but craves the affection and attention to fill up a hole where he never really had it with anyone and anything regardless of affiliation

anything he touches begins to rot so he’d fuck up any good thing for himself anyway. dumbass

honestly he isn’t a great fighter and avoids them like he would probably throw money and be like ‘ok we done here?’ and call it good SLJFLKF but if his life depended on it he could get scrappy

keeps the cicadas out of trouble/always gets them off innocent and has yet to lose a case

honestly most people just consider him a pretty rich boi (they’re not wrong) but he’s been proving his worth more and more and most people find him charming at the least

sometimes can be problematic for the cicadas bc he likes the attention and the life of luxury he grew up with too much to give it up

born into wealth and privilege,  annalise grew up only knowing so.  her life was all books,  studies,  and whatever else her parents decided for her

finding schoolwork rather easy,  she blew through her studies and graduated from college at the young age of seventeen and began to work for her father immediately,  not knowing anything else

she became a member of elysium after her interest in it’s conflict with the cicadas,  joining alongside her parents

annalise has trouble allowing people into her life and her social skills are nowhere near that of someone her own age due to her unconventional childhood.  her only friends were the ones she read about in books and the tutors that came to visit her everyday

she has a taste for disaster and joined elysium for the sole purpose of finding more disaster in her life

she continues to climb the ranks at elysium by any means, even against her own parents' wishes that she stay descrete for the good of the business

annalise has been diagnosed with ocd and has been seeing therapists for it for years.  she craves perfection in her work and will not allow otherwise.

hello friends~ and welcome to my intro! i am f i n a l l y making my appearance on the dash ! ( also did tumblr just change its font ? ew. ) i’m too old to be witty, but i’m very excited to introduce to you elysium’s bratty princess, yuri kwon! the name is marls, i’m 26 years old, she/her and i’m from the est timezone. i have way too many back problems for someone my age. i’ll be getting a page set up with stats & bio very soon but in the meantime, here’s a little bit about yuri:

A LOOK INTO THE PAST

yuri is a 22 year old member of elysium

she was born in seoul, sk into a very wealthy family. her father was a ceo and her mother a socialite, content to spend her dash in luxury. her father was never too attentive, always more focused on work and making sure his oldest child was being groomed to take part of the family business. 

yuri herself was never expected to do anything more than stay out of trouble, while was (in her father’s eyes) the heir to his empire that needed to be molded. 

personality wise, both she and her brother didn’t get along too well with the man who was barely around to be considered their father and yuri felt equally distant from her mother who never made her presence known in the house or had much of an opinion on how things were being done.

the only relative that she really gives a damn about his her older brother who has always looked out for her since they were kids. he means the absolute world to her and she would do anything for him.

her brother is six years older than her so when he left korea to start his own branch of the company in macau, she packed her bags and flew out to join him. (she was eighteen at the time.)

she began modeling right away to make sure that the lifestyle she was accustomed to wasn’t threatened. (her father doesn’t approve of her career choice, but yuri sees it as a little bonus.)

her brother linked up with elysium almost straight away once he found out that building connections with them was a sure fire way to strengthen his foothold in the new city he had decided call his own. yuri held back from affiliating with the group until she really just how powerful they really were. she decided it was a good investment in her future to join up.

although yuri is not stupid, her usefulness in elysium comes more from her beauty and charm as well as her family name. she will typically deliver messages and can often be seen wining and dining some of the most powerful men in macau.

PERSONALITY

yuri’s a brat. there’s no way around it. she was raised more by her brother and a nanny, and rarely heard the word ‘no’ when she was growing up.

she’s used to batting her eyelashes and pouting until she gets what she wants. 

if those methods don’t work, her temper has been known to flare up. 

she’s also very self-aware of how demanding she is and she’s not too apologetic about it. her brother is probably one of the only people she actually listens to. 

others will typically talk down to her, and she’s not one to sit down and take it. she’s the type to insult you with a sickeningly sweet smile.

her number one priority is her and her brother and elysium second. if elysium were ever to try and harm her brother, she would stop at nothing to destroy them.

otherwise, she’s pretty sassy and playful. she’s just got that, i’m untouchable, let’s get lit vibe going to her a lot
