OUTFIT EVOLUTION OF THE MAIN TEENS

(from June 2022 to August 2023)

I'm not only impressed with the amount of outfits i've drawn, but also how there's a huge shift on the most recent one bc it was the first time I decided to NOT use the base I made back in June 2022... really makes my own artistic evolution clearer

Darker color scheme to reflect inner conflict

Less soccer-heavy themed clothes, but similar vibes to uniform

D00d:

Appearance mostly inspired by Scary

Completely blob of darkness except for eyes (and eyelashes)

Scary:

more pink = slight change of mindset

loose chains = lost connection to Willy (free-er)

Taylor:

more relaxed clothing, less adventure-y

additional note not included: slightly changed his cane design, specifically the handle to make it more realistic / accesible

Normal:

oversized clothing (feels like Teeny costume)

additional note not included: Tried to add Teeny's colors to his clothes, and in the evolution it's clearer how the colors slowly become more obvious as Normal finds self confidence / meaning

So this took longer than expected, was planing on just listening to the episode and doing doodles like usual but then this came over me and here we are. Vaguely historical clothing is fun to draw, backrounds are not.

I like that so far Doods character arc of accustomising to humanity has mostly consisted of A. Becoming more murderous, if unintentionally, and B. Becoming non binary

The doodler is LITERALLY a representation of a child that grew up in an abusive household. It literally has cptsd. The way they're so quick to anger. The fact they're literally described as a child lashing out. The way they act is like a teenager who grew up with terrible emotional and physical abuse, and now they don't know how to navigate the world properly. The fact that the doodler is supposed to be in a teenager but currently they're literally having an arc because "that much emotion, fear, love and confusion isn't meant to be held in a package that small" is literally what it's like being a kid who goes through abuse. You go through what most adults will never have to experience. And you are a small package with emotions that are too big. How can you expect not to blow up? To engulf the world in your pain? Dood just wants to be seen. To be loved. That's all they ever wanted. But they only got hurt or hurt others. They were seen as evil. As if it was all their fault. But once the kids dug deeper. They realized that the doodler had only ever been a hurt kid who was forced into the role of an abuser. It's been a lost kid full of so much anger and grief that they didn't know where to put it. They literally sent their emotions away into other planes (repressing them), but the emotions were too strong and were still controlling them. It couldn't avoid the trauma even if he tried. Even when casting the emotions away. It was something that would still be part of him.

The doodler very very much represents a lot of different things. We know it's the physical manifestation of generational trauma. We know it represents more specifically anger and hate. We know it's the relationship between parents and children. Of adulthood and childhood. We know it's a teenager. But it's definitely definitely one of intense traumas. And definitely has/is cptsd
