the state of this fandom is that I can’t even tell if the “canon Jiang Cheng” tag is supposed to be complementary or not. Like. Ofc I haven’t checked the tag bc I dont care that much about JC but I keep seeing ppl referencing the ‘Canon JC” tag and its. Bemusing.

#doesnt help that JC is already a kind of nuanced character #he is portrayed at times in the novel as a kid who is in a tough position and who ultmately makes a lot of bad decisions under duress #and is portrayed at other times as a complete jerk who tortures ppl and shows no remorse and is an actively combative person #and both of these are part of his canon personality #idk the canon jiang cheng tag is just kind of pretentious to me #like #who do you think you are? MXTX herself?#it is impossible for anyone to know for certain the true characteristics of a given character except for the person who created tat characte #everything else is up to interpretation #yknow #bc everyone perceives a story and the characters within it with the background of their previous experience #idk #lyly chatters
