Joanna Taking Bard's place. = The Woman who can't seem to die. After her husband and son died and surviving the deserted land of The United States. A Maid in black came and offered her a job. Joannas Is the Midfords Master and only cook. Her cooking rivals her reflexes with a Gun. (Wears Bards old scar)

Doll takes Snake Place = An Odd girl with a fascination with poisonous bugs. She used to be an ex-Circus member until Elizabeth found her. She got split irises in both eyes.

So, I did what I usually always do when I'm feeling down and want a great flick and watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame and was like "Oh I should write a Rollo fic since he's fun to write" but then slowly my brain drifted Book of Circus on a stupid question that hasn't left and it lowkey bugs me...

Is Doll more Esmerelda or Quasimodo?

So, here are the facts I have in my brain of which fits to try and make a fair arguement:

She doesn't care about appearance or background like Esmerelda

If we do this argument than her saving/reaching out to Snake would be like when Esmerelda helps Quasi even when warned not to

And Frollo is pretty Baron Kelvin coded, and while that doesn't make sense @annoyinglyshinycherryblossom helped trigger a headcanon that Baron Kelvin and the previous Earl Trancy would've been friends and I even wrote a fic I chickened out over that Baron Kelvin attempted to sell Doll to Earl Trancy to get funding for the circus until Joker comes in and saves her, adding to a pile of things Doll feels it's her fault and grows her thicker skin (this will be revised in my Doll AU I've made), but also I have a headcanon/lowkey fucked up theory Baron Kelvin was lowkey lusting after Doll, hench why we see in the anime version of his flashback he dressed her in a similar outfit as the Phantomhive Twins

She lowkey is most sheltered out of the rest of the circus trope with Snake being more cause he was in an abusive situation.

She's sweet and obviously adventurous. I always said she's like Rapunzel if I had to put a Disney Princess on her for those reasons so I always headcanon she just wants to see the world. Maybe I should make an AU where everyone survives and Doll travels to America or something-

And if you don't want to go with the path Baron Kelvin was even more of a major creep, he's still Frollo coded in my opinion in how I view his relationship with Doll. Like if something happens that results in Doll getting injured, there's a issue at the circus, something breaks within the manor, or if someone humiliates here like what happened to Quasi in the Festival of Fools, no matter if it was her fault or not Baron Kelvin would not help her once with a vibe of "This is your own fault" kind of abusive parenting

Also, I can't be the only one who feels like Baron Kelvin probably gave Doll so much shit about her appearance in a toxic mindset of "whoever wants to adopt/marry you?" to the point her hair is grown enough to cover her burn?

Again, this was super random and kind of just wanted it out of my brain for bit

Freckles' Character & Personality

Doll was raised in the slums with her parents. Her left eye is burned and marred because her parents raised her too harshly. This consequently deformed Doll at some point in her life. She's a first-string member of the circus. There, Doll is a type of aerialist who specializes in tightrope walking. Her act is aerial ballet. Doll is considered "the princess" of the Circus with a "death-defying tightrope walk." She wears a solemn expression and acts in a taciturn manner. Doll is exceedingly loyal to the other first-string circus performers. She views them all as family; calling them her brothers and sisters, while Kelvin is her "Father." When disguised as a second string-member, Freckles, she's cordial, welcoming and innocent. She's eager to make new friends and judges it a necessity to look after them. Freckles will wake them up when they oversleep, share her food and teach them how to be a better performer. Her desire to be surrounded by new friends is due to how often she adopts the aforementioned alias because she dislikes sleeping alone and staying with someone "makes her sleep better sometimes." Unfortunately, Freckles is relatively naive and gullible. She'll even easily forgive others for supposedly stealing no matter how much she's reprimanded for doing such. Doll/Freckles isn't a modest person in regards to her or other people's bodies.

Public School--- CIRCUS?! [Weston Doll]

Just a lil "what if" Freckles joined Weston under some boy's identity? Hahaha, she would either be in search of Ciel to question him or maybe she joined forces with him and can make use of her acrobatic skills to aid in the mystery of Weston College!!

welp I decided to just go ahead and make a pirate au because why not. Now I can draw them in pirate outfits with pirate jokes.

Just a rough sketch atm. Not sure if the designs are gonna be final for Joker and Beast or not but that’s what I’m going with atm. The fact I’m still gonna have to do designs for Dagger, Jumbo, Peter, Wendy and Snake still is gonna kill me. I’m so bad at designing.

I have like nothing written for this au yet besides Joker giving Doll the vest she’s wearing when he and the rest of the pirate crew took her in after discovering she was abandoned. It’s now her most prized possession that she wears everyday regardless of how hot or cold it is outside.
