once again lamenting the bayverse films... they couldve been so much better
#a rewrite of them would be so fun.... i just feel like the bayverse tried to focus on realism (by making them live action the detail to#their clothing and all the nitty gritty stuff that the movie looks at - shredder draining them alive the very high stakes in the snow chase#etc etc all meant to heighten the viewers awareness of the harsh reality the turtles live in but supplemented by what they do have -#donnies wicked cool tech(holograms ???) the shell thing how they get thru the sewers their SIZE all things previous iterations havent#given as much attention to... but the storyline is lacking the relationships felt contrived shredder felt lame#the only scene from the 2014 movie i thought was touching was the elevator scene#oots was a little better with personalities/characters but the 2014 movie plot felt forced and there was little character to thr turtles#beyond their traits they r always reduced down to - leader nerd angry and goofball.. also no real connection w april :/#idk i feel like they couldve given more nods to the difficulties theyve faced - an offhand comment abt how difficukt it is to feed 4#teenage boys on scraps and april buying them takeout.. donnie getting caught up scavenging every scrap he can from anything shiny or raph#sewing or patching something they tore on a mission maybe leo fixing or cleaning smthn in the background or mikey finding some spray paint#in a color he wanted but could never find. bc if ur gnna go big on details in the background n designs why not go all the way ???#canis speaks
