in s3ep2, eleanor tells mrs. hudson she doesnt come from privilege, which mrs. hudson immediately denies. but i think its SOOO telling of eleanor's character! she sees herself as a woman in a world full of men, which she is, but she completely ignores the class and racial divides she obviously benefits from. she claims she has no privilege to mrs. hudson, who comes from no money and works as a chambermaid to woodes rodgers, leaving behind her beloved children to make sure eleanor has clean clothes and to empty her chamberpot. eleanor had power on nassau, power she wielded for her own benefit and to the severe detriment of others. obviously she experienced misogyny, but she was never forced into poverty, never forced into sex work, never forced into service of any kind, because her father was wealthy and she was born into a higher class. her experiences of misogyny and oppression are vastly different than mrs. hudson's. but for her to tell a chambermaid she experienced no privilege? it's laughably untrue. eleanor oversaw and directly profitted from the trade of hundreds if not thousands of slaves on nassau, was raised by "chattel property of the guthrie estate" mr. scott, who is never even given a name in his own tongue (on screen, at least), never showed kindness to anyone but those who put money in her pocket because she was born with that money and that trade empire already in the guthrie name. she had to fight to get it, and fight she did, but the fact that those things were so close to her reach just by virtue of the circumstances of her birth? that's privilege, whether or not she sees it that way

Yes, I’ve drawn them together multiple times, I always tell people I can always get behind a ship if it’s well-written and built up enough. Pete and Gary have a lot of meat there, fluff and angst wise, you could write or draw things about so it’s easy to see why people like the pairing so much.

I think the only issue I have with the ship is that many in the fandom woobify Pete and make Gary to be this comically evil toxic supervillain character. They’re both teenage boys in the game who have both said and done messed up things. That’s why I specify *if* it’s written well.

okay first of all we need to make a distinction between what he might think he wants and what he really needs.

see, thing is, pete is extremely intelligent, psychologically and emotionally. he's terribly good at penetrating into other people's both thought and emotional processes. therefore, the people who attract him are challenging people in this way- but also, people who are confident and step up despite all the odds.

he totally had a crush for gary, once. because he's as intelligent as gary (except that gary isn't emotionally intelligent; he has a lot of trouble understanding emotional processes, despite how good he is at intercepting and manipulating people's thought processes), but gary has the initiative and isn't afraid to use it againts other people. they were a good duo, in this sense, because pete had the exact emotional blindspot that gary was missing - at least, they would've been good if gary didn't bully him mercilessly. mostly he knew he could afford it because. pete didn't have anyone else.

and then jimmy came; i think jimmy being kind of, uh. (EDIT) emotionally dumb. was kind of a turn off, but he was totally thoughtless, whereas pete would have a hundred worries jimmy would have zero. he probably did crush on him a bit but. as i anticipated, he's not really challenging to understand. also i think, like gary, jimmy is a bit... gratuitously mean? like, it's not like pete is an angel, but mostly he bites harder when he's bitten first.

the thing is that the s/o i think pete would need is someone who is as emotionally intelligent like him, someone who hasn't a hard time understanding that. maybe you should avoid saying certain things to certain people. like to use previous examples; yes, jimmy says mean things to pete out of the blue, but he does do this with everyone. meanwhile, with pete you kind of need to understand that some things just. hurt him and you should avoid saying them.

like yes to answer your question i think emotional intelligent is the quick fundamental requisite. and also someone patient, bc i totally think (even tho this might be me projecting LMAO) that from time to time he has a hard time accepting that. maybe someone does love him for real and is not just pushing him around. but the idea is so ingrained in his brain that he'd need quite some work to get rid of it, you might say.

Hmmm, I'm assuming you mean this in a polyamorous way and not some soap opera love triangle way. I've drawn them in a polyamorous way before, I'm a little more hesitant to show those works as I don't know the fandoms reaction to my interpretation of their dynamic as adults. If it's in a poly way, hell yeah I'm down, if written well. You'll likely hear me say that a lot.

My only concern is that polyamorous relationships can be difficult and most folks don't realize this. I've had my own fair share of misfortunes with dating within polyamory because I didn't realize exactly what being poly entails. Most of us have been conditioned to think about only monogamy and haven't even been taught that polyamory is even a thing much less how to have polyamorous relationships in a healthy way. I have also seen this come through in writings that attempt to tackle poly dynamics.

However, I would love to read and see art and writings of these three especially if done well. I would eat that shit right up.

This is the last time im gonna post about whether jimmy is blonde or ginger so here's what I've found/decided:

there's no "blonde" option to choose when picking hair color, there's also no "ginger" or red tho... I think they label his hair color as copper when you buy it which is why I personally think copper is supposed to be strawberry blonde or something.. There is however an "auburn" color which tends to describe reddish hair but it looks brown anyway

Also this is what copper looks like in game (his default hair color)
