Those Who Sow in Tears Shall Reap in Joy

I love finding things that I have written and forgotten about. This is just a piece of my broken heart to God back in March of this year. I don't think I even realized how much I was in despair. So it's good to look back and see how far I've come and how much God has done since then.

Oh God, I'm crying out to You, why all these tears?? Why all the mourning Your Word says if I sow in tears I shall reap in joy...

O Lord, when shall the reaping begin? How long must I sow?

I long for joy again. It seems all I get now is a taste, just a tease and then a huge wall that stops me dead, literally.

And I hear Your soft whisper "trust me, lean on Me, Beloved."

Ho much long O God my God?

Lord i thank you for the joy you gave me yesterday as I played my guitar. Lord I thank You for the love and growing talent I have for music.

Shall my joy come back as I play my guitar? Shall I have to strum it out?

If so, God give me the faith to believe hat and keep playing.

I wonder how I got here? But God i know that matters little compared to the promise You have at the end of this.

A promise of joy and peace.

 God I definitely have a calm within my spirit, but I don't know if it's really a peace... O Gd sometimes I feel so tormented inside but I will lean on You for my joy and peace.

God help me to crush my idols and any stone or fleshly things I've made in your image. God, You are the one true God. Jesus You are my only salvation.

"Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy"...

I will hold onto that promise, when You restore me fully I shall be like one who dreams wondering, standing in awe that You Oh God would do such good for and in me.

God I know your restoration is sweet and wholly complete. You give back a hundred fold of whatever the enemy has stolen or whatever I gave to him.

Yet another promise I'll hold onto.

I don't know how much longer I'll be in this place of some light and some dark but I'll trust and believe You God.

I know there's everlasting light at the end of this tunnel. Yet even my darkest times can be like the light to You

No matter how deep or far away I go You are always there.

I know You never said this life would be easy but God, I never thought it would be this hard.

"If I say, 'Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night, even the darkness is not dark to You; the night is bright as day, for darkness is as light with You.' " (Psalm 139:11-12)

God I don't understand all this long season, but I'll choose to trust You and find out how to use it for Your purpose and glory.

The most important thing in all this seems to be that no matter where  I am You O Lord are with me.

In my darkest times You are there to comfort me and bye my light.

You have surrounded me with many people who care about me, but none can be trusted as I trust You. No one else can heal, restore, and save like You do. 

Thank You Jesus for dying so that all this may be mine and so I could have a way back to my Creator and be made whole again.

O God, my God, what an awesome, wonderful love You have shown and given to me.

Ah, now I feel a wave of peace and calm coming over me. I still don't quite sense the crazy, sporadic joy but as long as i know You're here I will wait for the joy You have promised that will come from all my tears.

Those Who Sow Tears Will Reap Joy (Psalm 126)

What follows is kind of personal, but I feel compelled to share it, because the fact is sometimes life is not pretty. Posting this makes me feel a little vulnerable but I'm hoping that it will end in encouragement for anyone who reads it.

No matter how hard things get or how much you don't understand in this life, there's always hope to look forward to in God. As a favorite song of mine goes, "Don't give up, don't give in, if you don't quit you win, you win."

So here it is, a little glimpse into a dark night of my soul...
