kind of funny to me how little i care about doppio. he's just very much a guy who happens to be there. my favourite guy comes with a bonus guy attached to him and i just don't think about him very much at all. i bought a second diavolo nendoroid so i could display both of them together then i just put a different diavolo faceplate on the doppio body.

#i think the apathy is at least partially bc of how much more popular doppio is than diavolo #and bc a lot of fan characterisation of doppio is annoying. or not to my taste #and also bc i don't like how people characterise their relationship...i think it almost always goes too far into contrasting them #like a monster/innocent dichotomy #which is to say i'm being kind of unfair but that's fine bc he isn't real #me writing my diavolo stories like ah i forgot about the other one again

i think the weirdest experience i ever had when talking about doppio and diavolo was one person getting mad and trying to argue with me because i used the plural "they" for diavolo and doppio instead of the singular "he"

#rambles #literally diavolo refers to doppio with separate pronouns at times in the manga so...#i don't really understand what made them so upset #functionally they are two characters it's just easier to use they/them for the sake of simplicity #obviously if i was talking to/about a real system/person with a dissociative disorder i'd use whatever they prefer but...
