Often capturing photos makes me; go to remote locations, take long hikes, spend time planning, be an active weather watcher, do a lot of trial and error. Not everything I plan turns out the way I would like it and often the best images have a lot of the magic that happens when you let the planning go and find yourself in the moment. For this long exposure of #downtownsonora I let a lot of that unplanned magic take over. After an evening spent with friends, two of us grabbed our cameras and walked about the downtown scene. @mitcheldrennan mentioned one of his favorite locations to capture a long exposure, so we headed there. Honestly we were both so wrapped up in good conversation, I wondered if I would ever get the timing right to get the shot I was hoping for. In the end, having the open and free attitude, not planning, saying yes, and simply reaching out to a friend...resulted in some pretty cool images.
