2) who was your first ever Blorbo, who was your childhood Blorbo, and are they still your Blorbo?

I kind of answered this in another post but my first blorbo was Methos from Highlander: The Series! My other childhood blorbo tho was Fox Mulder from The X-Files. I LOVED Mulder. I tried to BE Mulder. I started talking more dryly and deadpan, I ate sunflower seeds and started sorting all my stuff into files. I asked for a filing cabinet for Christmas to achieve this. I taught myself to smile only using the left side of my mouth after reading the description of this in one of the tie-in novels. I was insane but my God I loved him. The love has faded away into my childhood memories but he'll always be special to me.

4) what’s the thing you love the most about your Blorbo?

My two main blorbos currently are Dr. Nicholas Rush from Stargate Universe and Nikola Tesla from Sanctuary.

I love Rush's need to prove himself. He's brilliant but it's not enough. He's mean but he wants love. He's broken but he still yearns to fulfill what he believes is his destiny. He's always striving. He never gives up.

For Tesla, my first instinct is to say "well, he's a little bitch" lol. But what I really love the most about him is his constant quest for that which is eternal. Long-lasting will do in a pinch, whether that's expensive wines or a snapshot memory of a red dress at Oxford. He's immortal but he wants to create something that will be there when he's gone. He's a scientist and an explorer and a brat and a would-be lover of the only other person who just might be eternal too. He wants to matter, just like Rush.

5) what’s the thing you dislike the most about your Blorbo?

Gosh, dislike? But I love my boys! Honestly, the only thing I can think of kind of goes into #23 with the mismanagement of the character by the writers. I don't like Rush's romance plotline with Mandy. She tried to kill him! (I say as I ship him with Young who also most definitely tried to kill him twice rip). I just don't like how it was handled but I'm glad the writers bowed to fandom pressure and scrapped the sex scene. I think Mandy could have been really cool as a sort-of villain if they'd acknowledged how fucked up what she did to him was and I'm annoyed that he didn't seem to have a problem with her actions.

For Nikola, it's definitely the trying-to-kill-Helen thing. That was early installment weirdness and I have to interpret it as 'he was bluffing to scare her and would never have hurt her really' because the character they established for him later just is at complete odds with that first appearance. The man who dreams of a red dress his youth would never, ever hurt her.

7) what’s the one thing the fandom gets wrong about your Blorbo?

Hmmmmmmmmm...

For Rush, I'm sorry, Ian, I love you, but I still can't wrap my head around Rush being a top. He's just got 'whipped boy' written on his forehead to me. I think Gloria pegged that man all their marriage, lol. But I love how we all have different interpretations, honestly. I don't think anyone gets it "wrong", I just have my little quirks and I like my men to be subs lol. Same goes for Tesla, really. I've written Helen pegging him and I just see that as so right for them. Others may see him as a top but lol I just can't. XD

This is particularly funny to me because he looks so badass here. Nevermind that that's his last bullet because he missed every shot he took at Simeon at a range of, what? Like 10 yards away? And yeah, I know, he had a plan, but you can't convince me that he wasn't also legitimately trying to shoot him. Seriously, this man could not hit the broad side of a barn with that thing, and I love that for him.

But anyway, enough of me making fun. Rush is my favorite and this episode broke my heart.

If no one already knows apparently Stargate Universe is on Amazon Prime? {And Pluto TV}

All I'm saying is if you got Amazon or if you want to watch it even for free with Pluto TV. I highly recommended as it's a great piece of scifi and you do not need to see any Stargate series to get into it.
