My biggest struggle in making this is me trying to figure out how my OC is going to survive here… not to ,mention historic accuracy which at this point I gave up like, fuck it, this Asian lady totally walked the silk road and somehow in Paris in the middle of 13th century without dying.

That being said, aside from actual lore and what not, I just want some laugh out of this OC lol. My girl, Ran, is a pathetic girl failure who is meeting another pathetic man failure. Will this be some sort of self insert ship? Who knows. Even I don’t even know! All this for a hehe haha lolza.

Read more…? Well, one thing I’m giving to Ran is she will be TERRIBLE in French. Like, my girl is a traveller… and a merchant lol. All her goods are likely just random shit she found along the way and of course, she’ll be overcharging it! I’m trying to give her something like… a cunning and shrewd merchant type of vibe. Like she has shit and she will sell it for a price that she deems fit.

I originally designed her in Goodnotes and honestly? I love Goodnotes. I don’t have how many time I have said it but it’s genuinely the app I draw on when I don’t feel like actually drawing.

And since Thond is set in around 13th-14th century I was FORCED to make her ass come from Ayutthaya for the sake of history but again… I pretty much failed A level history so who knows. Maybe I should just fuck it we balls this because what the fuck. Let’s just watch and laugh and pretend all of this is not real (it isn’t real)

ALSO I may have drawn Ran a little younger than I intended (anime effect) because I think of making her late 30’ to early 40’ cause she is NOT younger than that lol. Maybe Frollo might find someone to match his freak? Or OUTFREAK him… hehe. I can’t believe seeing TWST Rollo would lead me back to this… (I remembered watching thond like when I was a kid and was actually in love with Esmeralda (assigned sapphic since birth) and I still am. I’m actually planning for Ran to meet Esmeralda and maybe something… yuri might happen HAHHAHA!

Hello! I’m opening up commissions again to finance my textbooks and tuition for the Fall 2025 semester! (All prices in USD, invoices sent via PayPal)

Nota Bene: I’m a university student! I cannot promise any sort of timeframe or deadline for any commissions I take, especially during the semester.

Adding an extra character will cost an additional 50-75% of the character prices listed above depending on character complexity.

Characters, icons, or logos with simple designs will be priced on a case-by-case basis.

Want to add a background? The prices in the image above are a starting point, but the added price for your background will be decided based on your individual wants as my patron.

COME WITH REFERENCES, especially if you’re asking me to draw an original character! A pose you want! A scribble on a napkin! A sims 4 gallery build of what you want the scenery to be! Your entire goddamn pinterest concept board for the character! I don’t care what it is, but please know that literally ANYTHING is better than nothing, to the point that coming with nothing will incur extra charges.

If you ask me to draw an OC with absolutely no references or an undetailed description, it will cost an additional $20. If you have no references but you have a detailed description, it will cost an additional $15. If you have references, or it’s an existing character or person, but you don’t have an idea in mind (ex: poses, scene, etc), it will cost an additional $10. These charges are for the additional time and effort I need to put into a commission if a client doesn’t come prepared.

All prices are in USD. I require a 50% downpayment up front to begin working on your commission. I will inform you when the commission is finished and then send you the final product in digital file format upon receiving the second half of the payment.

What if none of those things help? I end up more frustrated when studies don't go well or when I have new inspiration and can't draw it well. I just lapse into more studies and get more frustrated.

Consider a change of routine! Sometimes trying something new like a new brush, new method, new style, will help you break out of consistency and change the way that you draw so that it feels more satisfying for you. For example, most of my comic linearts were previously done with a rectangular brush that I later changed to a fuzzier round brush and that round brush made my strokes looser and faster and and gave it more flow and fluidity, giving me a new stylistic element to play with. Sometimes different tools have a very concrete effect on how you draw, and playing around with that occasionally is good and healthy for growth.

Another drastic shake-up that I highly recommend is moving away from whatever you normally use to draw and doing it on something low-stakes and casual instead. For me, this is getting off of Procreate and doodling in Goodnotes. Maybe try ballpoint doodles on a napkin or a post-it note. I find that this fools my brain into relaxing my own expectations for my art. I start to think, if it doesn't look good, of course it doesn't; I don't have all the tools, and I'm not doing it seriously anyways. It's a doodle, it doesn't need to be a masterpiece.

This is unfortunately the extent of advice I can give on quick fixes. I would like to say: I often don't like telling people to change because when I get told I need to change, it implies that I'm actively doing something wrong. It feels bad.

But when it comes down to it, the only person that can really determine and meaningfully change the way you think and feel about your art is yourself. I know change is slow and difficult, and not something that can be done on a whim or the flip of a dime, but that's what it takes sometimes if you think you love art enough to want to continue drawing.

For me, I like to think that anything I draw has inherent value simply by being something that I've drawn-- It's not just the result of the time I spent drawing it, but constantly, always, a culmination of years of practice and effort and experiences that are mine, unique to me. That inherent value and the pride it gives me means that no matter how frustrated I feel at not drawing well enough, I know I'll come back to it eventually and continue growing.

I would ask you to consider what you think you draw for. Beyond just why you're frustrated, why is it that a drawing needs to look good to you; where do the stakes come from? Find ways to break down those stakes and lower your expectations, and I think you might find somewhere beneath those the enjoyment that propelled you to draw for so long in the first place.

Pages can be easily duplicated and removed - though I would advise that the pages linked to the tabs along the side are not deleted. This journal is free/pay what you want, as will be any monthly add-ons throughout the year.
