Tumblr media
Hey everyone, I just started this page and wanted to introduce myself! I was at a different blog for a brief period, but realized I couldn’t use tumblr like I needed with a sideblog. Please share! I will begin posting my art later today. Thanks!
Who am I and why do I heART?
My name is Christine, and I’ve been doing photography my whole life and started doing mixed media pieces in 2012. I am chronically alive and do art to express myself through colors.
What themes do I pursue?
Nature, colorful abstracts; I like to keep my inner child alive by using vibrant colors.
What inspires me?
I love the colors this world has to offer. I like to look outside my window and see what beautiful thing the Earth presents me with and use it to work on my abstract pieces.
Favorite time of day to do art?
Whenever I feel moved to do art. It can be in the morning with my cup of joe, or in the evenings inspired by the sunset.
Favorite part of making art?
I’m an intuitive artist. I love to feel when a picture is finished; I like to keep going until the colors tell me that it is completed!
Favorite artists?
Georges Seurat, Jackson Pollock, @griefandcreativity
Favorite artblrs?
@dreambigsoulstudio @onetinypainting @thelizart @the-dice-nest-creates @lauren-cassidy

As a person who is both intuitive and suffers from anxiety, I agree with this advice. While a good and supportive therapist will support you listening to your intuition, their primary focus will always be on improving your mental health. Any good therapist worth your time will always first and foremost educate you or even give you reading homework to educate yourself about your unique mental health diagnosis. A licensed mental health professional will always be your best resource to speak to about intrusive thoughts. While I absolutely support practioners who view mental health from a more holistic perspective, and my best therapists have always embraced a holistic element, my mental health was always the main topic on the table. The point of seeing someone who embraces a holistic approach is not so that they will ignore the medical and science of your diagnosis…. it’s so that things like meditation as an anxiety treatment are offered IN ADDITION TO traditional therapeutic approaches. And honestly? Reporting this psychiatrist isn’t a bad idea. My best advice: if you need immediate medical intervention to reduce your anxiety symptoms, please find a new psychiatrist because there is nothing wrong with treating anxiety with medication. To learn more about your anxiety and learn coping strategies for the future, and especially because your anxiety presents with intrusive thoughts, please find a therapist you can see for at least a few sessions, if not regularly until your anxiety symptoms are well managed. Psychology Today’s website has a “find a therapist” feature which I have found quite helpful in the past!
You’ve made it back to tumblr! Yay!
