When the Eclipse started, I shrugged off Louis's acting as your usual GMMTV brand of acting and moved on. Then I started FUTS and he was so good at being the cute Meen (you'll have to see to know it; Neo's character literally has a hard time because of it cuz it's so cute/good) but still. You could consider it to be in the same vein, right? But then, when he is playing Duean's (Neo) imagination version of him as the playful guy who roughly throws him on the couch, or, tries to seduce him or even dragging him into the room and breaks the fourth wall by winking at the camera, I'm like boy certainly has the range beyond the bare minimum! (Also, if you haven't watched that show, please do! At least, the Neolouis bit! They're just funny adorable) Clearly, he can be emotive if he wants to

Then watching the Eclipse I was like uff why is he like this here.

But it turns out that in the novel Thua is described as a muscular guy with a cute oval round? face who is very robotic. So I guess acting choices are being made.

Once again thinking about how Meen's personality? Character? was so infantilized superficially in FUTS but I really enjoyed it while watching the show 😂 Maybe because it wasn't the usual uke/Bottom stereotype thing like in the older Bls but because he had strong opinions while also being (physically) strong himself and Duean constantly imagining being railed by him in these hilarious dream sequences? It didn't really strike to me until halfway past the series and then I was like not only am I not bothered but also I'm enjoying this. Him single handedly holding Duean (Neo) up to him sticking his finger into his mouth and sucking it because he got a boo boo to talking to his room full of plushies when he's upset. The range was there. Louis was absolutely the cutest. His Duean~ was Duean's siren call.

I can’t believe I say this but I kinda like Duean and Meens story. In the beginning Duean was just super annoying for being so shouty all the time and the narrator + 4th wall breaks that only happen in his storyline were weird. 

But now I think it’s an interesting element for his characterization (also cool how they change the frame size for his parts of the episode, makes it feel like a show in the show). 

I guess the narrator is somewhat his inner voice. He seems to be neurodivergent maybe? This + his young age makes him just very hyper and jumpy in his head. Combined with the naive, kinda slow Meen it’s a big contrast. And they both have to meet in the middle somehow and learn to understand the other to get along, and that’s an interesting development.
