My favorite thing about Dungeon Meshi is how accurate it is to a real life TTRPG campaign. The characters *look* cool and epic on the outside but are completely unhinged, every serious moment is immediately ruined with nonsense, the expected solution is thrown out the window and replaced with overcomplicated or just outright WEIRD plans that sometimes seem pulled right out of a stoner's ass, and the whole party of supposed heroes is perfectly a-ok with committing crimes and unethical horrors to further their goal and then turn around and merrily befriend a random quirky NPC who happened to survive what they just did to their village.

You can't convince me Kui didn't just sit down to play D&D and decided to make a manga about her party.

We've just gone through maybe the most heart-wrenching chapter so far and immediately we jump to this.
