harper does not listen to authority 90% of the time, but she will once she respects you. jasper is her friend, so she gets annoyed at him acting like a leader and ordering her around, even if ultimately she does it. she stands with lincoln against pike and bellamy, but when bellamy reminds her that he's always done what's in their best interest, she moves aside, apologizing to lincoln. she doesn't listen to abby or kane or jaha, but she does listen to bellamy because he earned her respect over their time on the ground and in mount weather and every day since mount weather. in the end, she'll stand against him though because the actions he and pike take go too far and she doesn't believe in them.

Thinking about how bellamy shared intimate information with gina about his mom and childhood today

Gina represented the future to Bellamy. After everything that happened in Mount Weather, it was really easy for him to get distracted by it. He had to keep himself busy, always focusing on the next thing and taking over as a partial leader in Arkadia after Clarke left. He has the leadership capabilities, but these normally show when in charge of supply runs, rather than anything diplomatic or political. it was very rare for him to let himself relax and not focus on the next thing that needed to be fixed or the next mission, but Gina gave him those moments to breathe. Moments where he wasn’t distracting himself from the trauma of Mount Weather, as well as moments where he could just relax. She had an energy to her that he wanted to be around !! she was bright and good. After everything in Mount Weather, he desperately wanted to be good again, and Gina almost represented reaching that. he felt like he could get there with her!! he could heal and recover and move forward and build a life.
