there is a particular kind of Customer™ who i don't even think is uniquely terrible to deal with as a customer service employee cuz i think their problem that they're making everyone else's problem is they think they are the main character of the whole universe. so, for example, they'll go into a shop that's had a deal on where if you have a loyalty card you can get this one snack food for free, & this customer will be shocked & appalled that this snack food is already sold out. because what do you mean Other People also exist? and claim the free loyalty offers? they haven't claimed it yet so there has to still be some left because they are actually the only person in the world

the problem is they do not realise this is their underlying thought process. and you absolutely can NOT point it out to them. so you have to sympathise with their plight even tho u are being paid minimum wage.
