Ruddy Turnstones are long-distance migrants with a worldwide distribution. They're found in at least five different populations on both North American coasts as well as in South America, Eurasia, Africa, and Australia.
The Ruddy Turnstone nests on high arctic tundra of North America and Eurasia, and winters along the coastlines of six continents. In migration it is seen mainly along the coast, although numbers may stop over at favored points inland, especially along the Great Lakes.

it’s so interesting to me that humidity actually means something other than suffocation to drier areas
#what do you mean that’s your tell for rain????#you mean you get nature’s moist hug and it means something like ‘rain incoming’ instead of ‘have fun sweating bitch’#literally for the first couple times i just thought ‘hey the weather feels like home 🥰’ and then didn’t correlate that with the storms lmao#this is the only culture shock i get concurrently whenever i visit my aunt’s place#idk it’s so fascinating to learn that these kinds of weather occurrences i view as fairly common are clues for specific patterns#tbh i do know that the air always gets even thicker when rain comes but the change in atmosphere felt too small for me to tell at hime#but then i’ll be in like east tx and the atmosphere change is sO stark like wtf#nature is weird#and cool#late night talks with a potato

i think lofty might actually be the only reason to ever go to tallahassee LMAO
when we were there i went to get snacks at a gas station and the guy at the counter was like so where ya headed? because tally is along I-10 and there isn’t really anything in tally itself other than state govt buildings. and i was like. here? and he was like ??? BUT WHY
this used to be our hobby as a couple... just driving around to all the different restaurants within about 100ish miles. i love to see the countryside
