Troy’s eczema started when he turned 3 months old. I didn’t panic until it hit 3 weeks in and by this point the severity of his eczema was scary and depressing. I would cry and felt ashamed whenever I took a photo or if strangers in public would stop to admire his cuteness. Troy became agitated from the itchiness of his rash. It spread rapidly over the course of a month from the top of his cheeks to his feet.. literally little to no skin spots that were without irritation. I began to panic and considered my intake and diet. I considered his as well, changing his formulas I supplement with 2 times! I could tell they weren’t the cause or the source for the skin irritations but the formulas had a major contribution to the inflammation. I started to do more research around the time I found out about Beautycounter’s Baby Line. I became stronger, more confident, in searching for any sort of relief or solution.

~The recovery~

5 weeks into Troy’s #severeeczema I began using Beautycounter’s Baby Balm and Baby All Over Wash. I am constantly lathering his body during each/every changing. I make sure his skin is not moist and not too dry, there needs to be a balance. I will take a clean, wet cloth, DAB/TAP around affected areas (gentle with irritated skin) then immediately dry those areas. Then I would apply on top the Baby Balm, massage gently and have fresh bibs and clothes put on him.

5-6x per week Troy is scrubbed in his bath with Baby Gentle All Over Wash and is taken from the bath no longer than 10 minutes to avoid pruning. Baby Protective Balm Routine, again, is applied.

~Things I pay attention to~

•The foods he is eating: what is he responding well/not well to (skin wise)

•The soap used to clean bottles and baby dish-ware: I will only purchase #seventhgeneration from here on out 🌱

•Laundry detergent used for the sheets he sleeps on + clothes he wears

(ANYTHING THAT HAS CONTACT WITH SKIN)

-Note: I discovered blood would be covered all over the sheets every morning after Troy would sleep on his cheeks (his side) throughout the night. This would happen because cotton sheets strip away at sensitive skin types and causes skin irritations

•He is under my radar all the time because he scratches constantly at his eczema patches cause them to bleed

* this is when I use baby gloves!!!! *

Last but not least and very important-

NO KISSIES FROM DIRTY MOUTHS

This one is huge I hate to say it but I really don’t hate to say it please be supportive friends and family he is too young and too sensitive, unfortunately ☹️🙅🏻‍♀️

When Troy visited the pediatrician two weeks into his eczema they prescribed Aquaphor and steroids. It wasn’t until ONE WEEK after switching those prescriptions out for Beautycounter’s Baby Collection when we were relieved of any skin irritations

When you eat more fruit, you detox. Fruit cleanses the liver, gut, lymph system, and all other organs.

As you detox, the toxins and pathogens go to your lymph system for elimination.

But if your elimination pathways aren't open, if you're not sweating enough, pooping, peeing, or breathing (deeply) enough then you're more than likely not cleansing yourself of the impurities that are leaving your organs.

This means waste gets backed up in your lymph nodes, while more waste accumulates as you continue to detox.

Acne is something I've been dealing with ever since I've changed up my diet and added way more fruit than ever before. It's not red-blotchy-cysty bad, but it's def not as clear and smooth as I would like it. This is because my lymph system is backed up, causing the strep bacteria to just come thru my skin.

If you're detoxing and healing, but notice more skin issues like increased eczema flares and acne, look into supporting your lymph system. This includes excercising, dry brushing, rebounding (trampoline), or just massaging your lymph nodes.

I know it sounds dramatic, but it is what it is. I already have depression, always have, and when my eczema on my face flares up, it really messes with my mental health. It's been constantly raw, red and crazy for almost a month straight now. I cried all day today and it really disrupts my life and makes me wish I wasnt around. It stings, burns, and bleeds around my eyes, nostrils, lips, ears, chin, cheeks...everywhere.
