5:24
Jimin shuffled barefoot into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
“Hi, sleepyhead,” smiled the photographer, bemused.
“How long was I asleep?” Jimin yawned as he walked to the small, round table Taehyung was sitting at. The rain fell satisfyingly against the glass windows next to them.
Taehyung raised the tea-filled mug he was holding to his lips. “Not too long.”
“Oh, okay. Thank you for letting me sleep in your bed.”
“No problem,” Tae smiled gently. “Your clothes are in the dryer.”
“Thanks.”
The younger scrubbed at his face with his sweater paws. The whole hoodie was large on him; it nearly fell to his knees. Sitting down, he groaned and put his face in his hands. “What time is it?” he asked, his voice raspy from sleep.
Taehyung glanced at his (Gucci) watch. “It’s 5:26.”
Jimin snapped his head up. “What? Already?”
He stood up abruptly and the chair he was sitting on scraped loudly against the floor. Putting his hands on his hips, he frantically paced, muttering lowly under his breath. Lost in his own world, his head swarmed with thoughts, completely oblivious to the other male next to him.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Taehyung said, but the younger was too engrossed in his thoughts to hear him. “Hey,” he repeated louder, standing up and resting his hands on either side of the model’s small frame. Looking gently at Jimin, he murmured,“it’s okay, Jimin.”
Jimin gazed at the older through his thick lashes. The vulnerability in his eyes flared brightly for a second, then disappeared altogether. “You’re right,” he said, shaking his head. (oop-- it rhymes) “I- I don’t know what came over me.” the younger smiled a wobbly smile. It felt like it was going to slip off his face any second, and it took a huge amount of effort to keep from sliding off. Rubbing the back of his head, he sat back down again. Tae mimicked the action.
“Would you like to stay for dinner?”
“O-oh, oh no. I don’t mean to intrude. You’ve done more than I could ask for,” Jimin smiled weakly.
“No, please. You aren’t intruding on anything. I would be more than happy to have you over.”
“No, really. It’s okay.”
“Please, Jimin. I insist. You shouldn’t have to be alone.” The model’s breathing hitched audibly.
The model sighed and bit his lip, conflicted. He could have sworn Tae’s eyes darkened. “Okay, fine,” he said, smiling a little.
“Great.” Tae responded, smiling in return.
Tae’s POV
Taehyung opened the fridge, and peered into it inquisitively, hoping it would reveal its secrets to him. Much to his disappointment, it didn’t. So, instead, he asked Jimin, “any allergies?”
“Nope.” Jimin said lightly from the couch.
Tae turned around to face Jimin. “Diet restrictions?”
“None.”
“Alright,” he sighed, turning around to look inside the fridge. Huffing a breath, he mumbled, “I don’t know what to cook.”
Turning around to where Jimin was sitting, he put his hands on his hips. “Any suggestions?”
“No,” Jimin shrugged. “Anything is fine.”
“Ahhh. I never know what to cook…” Tae trailed off, staring blankly inside the fridge. An idea suddenly popped into his head. “I know! I have the perfect recipe!”
Jimin oohed quietly from the couch.
Smiling softly, Taehyung washed his hands and began to prep his ingredients.
Jimin’s POV
Taehyung was chopping vegetables when Jimin rose from the couch. Padding to the kitchen, he rested his hands on the marble countertop and asked, “can I help with anything?”
Tae put down the knife and wiped his hands on his apron. “If you’d like,” he responded, smiling warmly. Jimin waited for the older to give him directions. “See the onions, potatoes, zucchini over there?” Jimin nodded mutely. “Could you cut them into cubes for me?”
“Sure. Do you have an apron?”
Taehyung pointed to a cupboard under the sink. “Right there.”
“Thanks.”
A comfortable silence ensured the pair as they chopped vegetables. Minutes ticked by, when Taehyung suddenly blurted out, “Let’s play some music.” Wiping his hands on a towel, he strode over to his phone, which was charging on the dining table, and picked it up. Smooth jazz filtered through the speakers a moment later, and Jimin felt himself relax further. “There we go,” the photographer announced, and began to fire up the stove.
They ended up making jajangmyeon, a common (Korean) dish that Jimin absolutely adored. He considered it comfort food as it always brought back memories of his childhood. The dish consisted of noodles in a black bean sauce, topped with an (optional) egg and cucumber. “Thank you for this─ for all of this, actually,” Jimin said, sweeping a hand around the apartment.
“It’s really no problem. I’m happy to help,” Taehyung gave the younger a reassuring smile.
The day ended with Jimin giving Tae a hug. One that surprised the both of them, but was equally appreciated.
Jimin thanked Tae yet again. His kind actions had made the model’s day just a little more bearable, and despite the day’s significance and the heaviness it carried along with it, Jimin’s heart began to swell. They parted at the door as Tae asked, “would you like me to call a cab for you?”
“No, I can make it home by myself. Thank you, though.”
“Alright. Goodnight, Jimin.”
“Goodnight Tae,” he said as he started down the hallway, a small smile creeping onto his face.
Thank you.

An Announcement~
So... after careful consideration, I have decided to discontinue this series. Before writing, I did not have a clear idea of where my characters and their relationships were going to go, and I realize now that I did not plan properly. This is the first, true multi-fic I have written and it is a learning process. I don't usually have a plan when I write as I typically write one-shots and drabbles, therefore, I have a vague idea in my head of how the story is going to pan out, but with this, I did not plan as I should have, and that was a grave mistake on my part. The last few chapters I just wrote what I felt would work well with the plot without inserting any real meaning into them. I have tried many times to salvage this story, but unfortunately, it did not work out. I genuinely had a lot of fun writing this, and it has helped me, personally, grow as a writer. I will take this as an opportunity to learn, after all, the best way to learn is through your mistakes and this story is a clear reflection of that. Not in any way am I saying that this story was a mistake, but that there were certain areas where it is clear I could have planned better or developed further.
For all those who enjoyed my story, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support means the world to me. I'm sorry it didn't work out.
Thanks for everything~ ♥
