MYBYK Valuation
MYBYK is an Indian bicycle rental start-up founded by Arijit Soni. The company operates in several cities across India, including Mumbai, Pune, and Goa. MYBYK aims to provide a sustainable mode of transportation to its customers and encourages them to switch to cycling, thereby reducing their carbon footprint and contributing towards a greener environment.
MYBYK has been able to establish a niche in the market and is valued at INR 200 crores. In this article, we will explore MYBYK's journey, its product offerings, and its valuation.
The story of MYBYK
Arijit Soni founded MYBYK in 2015 intending to solve the transportation problem in India's crowded cities. Soni noticed that traffic congestion and pollution were major issues in Indian cities, and he wanted to provide a sustainable and affordable transportation option to people.
MYBYK started as a small bike rental company in Mumbai with just a handful of bicycles. However, the company's popularity grew quickly, and MYBYK expanded to other cities in India.
Product offering
MYBYK's product offering is simple - it provides bicycles for rent. Customers can rent bicycles on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The hourly rate for renting a bicycle is INR 2 hours, the weekly rent is INR 199, and the monthly rent is INR 499.
The rental price includes the bicycle, helmet, and a lock. MYBYK also offers corporate rental services to businesses that want to provide their employees with a sustainable transportation option.
MYBYK's differentiator
MYBYK's differentiator is its focus on sustainability. The company aims to reduce carbon emissions and encourage people to switch to cycling. MYBYK's bicycles are designed for urban commuting and are equipped with features like lightweight frames, comfortable saddles, and adjustable handlebars.
The company also uses electric bicycles in some of its locations, which are ideal for longer commutes. MYBYK's commitment to sustainability has helped it build a loyal customer base that appreciates the company's efforts toward a greener environment.
Marketing strategy
MYBYK has been able to establish a strong brand presence in India through its marketing efforts. The company has partnered with several events and initiatives to promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation.
MYBYK also uses social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to engage with its customers and promote its brand. The company has a user-friendly app that allows customers to book a bicycle rental, locate the nearest MYBYK station, and make payments.
MYBYK's valuation
MYBYK is valued at INR 200 crores. The company has raised funding from several investors, including Seedfund and Yuvraj Singh's YouWeCan Ventures. MYBYK's valuation is a reflection of the company's potential to grow in the future. With the increasing focus on sustainability and the growing demand for affordable transportation options, MYBYK is well-positioned to capture a larger market share in India.
MYBYK has already expanded to several cities across India, including Mumbai, Pune, and Goa. However, the company has plans to expand to other cities in India, including Bengaluru and Delhi. MYBYK has identified these cities as key markets with a high demand for sustainable transportation options. The company plans to establish a strong presence in these cities and capture a larger market share.
MYBYK Shark Tank also plans to expand its product offering by introducing electric scooters and electric bikes. The company has already introduced electric bicycles in some of its locations and has received a positive response from customers. MYBYK's electric vehicles are designed to provide an eco-friendly transportation option to customers, and the company plans to expand its electric vehicle fleet in the future.
Challenges faced by MYBYK
One of the major challenges faced by MYBYK is the lack of cycling infrastructure in Indian cities. Indian cities are not designed for cycling, and there are limited cycling lanes and parking spaces. MYBYK has been working with local governments to promote cycling infrastructure and create dedicated cycling lanes. The company believes that the development of cycling infrastructure is crucial for the growth of the cycling industry in India.
Another challenge faced by MYBYK is competition from other transportation companies. Several ride-sharing companies, such as Uber and Ola, have introduced bike rental services in India. MYBYK has been able to differentiate itself from these companies by focusing on sustainability and affordability. The company believes that its commitment to sustainability and its user-friendly app are key factors that set it apart from its competitors.
The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on MYBYK's business. The company had to temporarily suspend its services during the lockdowns in India. However, MYBYK was able to adapt to the changing environment and introduced new safety measures to ensure the safety of its customers.
The company introduced contactless payments and implemented strict sanitation measures to ensure the cleanliness of its bicycles. MYBYK also partnered with local governments to provide bicycles to frontline workers who were working during the pandemic.
Conclusion:
MYBYK's journey is an inspiring story of entrepreneurship and sustainability. The company has been able to establish a niche in the market and build a loyal customer base by focusing on sustainability and affordability. MYBYK's expansion plans and its commitment to sustainability bode well for its prospects.
The company's valuation is a reflection of its potential to grow in the future, and the company is well-positioned to capture a larger market share in India. MYBYK's efforts towards promoting cycling infrastructure and sustainability will also have a positive impact on the environment and contribute towards a greener future.
