something i think a lot of able-bodied people (or really, ANYONE who doesn't use an electric mobility device) fail to realize is that while having a power chair can certainly open up your ability to go places, many places are not power chair/scooter friendly. even curbs aren't power chair friendly, (frankly im ignoring the width of sidewalks for this post... 😒) the first time i left my home with my chair, i had an emotional breakdown upon coming home, because my own driveway isn't power chair friendly. the curb has a two inch rise, which simply can't be rolled over. we'd already had to buy an expensive ramp to get OUT of the house, and i had to get out of my chair (ow) so that my fiance could lift the chair over the curb. if he wasn't there with me, i would've been out of luck. not only would i have had to leave my $5000 chair outside on the street, i would've had to walk myself back inside, which is one of the main contributions of my back pain. btw, insurance doesn't cover anything towards non-permanent chair ramps. as a disabled person, you are expected to cover those expenses yourself, and they are not cheap.
i also realized that not every road has an ADA-compliant curb to roll onto. do you know what that means? that means i have to drive my chair in the street, with actual cars. do you know the top speed of my chair? it's 5.1 miles per hour. im not sure if it's illegal to pass someone in a mobility scooter, but no one wanted to drive around me when this happened so i held up the traffic on a somewhat busy road. it was embarrassing and somewhat frightening.
i guess all im saying is, please think about power chair and scooter users when you think about wheelchair accessibility. please consider what our heavier, battery-operated chairs can and can't do when it comes to curbs and ramps.

Hi YuuRei! How are you?
In terms of the students in the main cast, the only ones I know that have a driver’s license canonically would be mostly Leona, but also Lilia, sort of. (It is expired if I recall correctly). I couldn’t help but notice that it is likely that people in Twisted Wonderland don’t really need a permit or license to operate a Magical Wheel? It certainly is interesting since it is kind of like a motorcycle. Thank you!
Hello hello! Thank you very much for this question, I never expected it to be such a rabbit hole! ^^
⚠️Tamashna Muina Spoilers below!⚠️ (and technically above 💦)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It does seems possible that Lilia's license has expired, but also possible that he never had one in the first place? He does not seem to be able to remember!
The revelation of Leona's driver's license was a fascinating one because, as you say, Deuce has been riding Magical Wheels since middle school, somewhere between the ages of 13 and 15 years old!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Epel says he had a neighbor who would take him out for rides back home, but in his dorm vignette he says he has "always wanted to ride" one, implying that the opportunity from Vil to drive one for the Film Club was possibly his first time ever driving on his own--with nothing about licenses ever mentioned!
We get a vague explanation about how magical wheels work in Book 5 from a bully who says that, while you can drive a magical wheel without magic, he just happens to have enough magic to work one.
Tumblr media
They have technomantic batteries to power them but those seem to be meant as back-ups: they are designed to be powered at least partially by magic.
And this is very reminiscent of certain road traffic laws that exist in Japan! :>
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As explained here, "vehicles" like electric bicycles must, by law, have an "assistance" function in Japan (such as pedal power) to keep them from being 100% motorized.
If your electric bicycle does not require pedaling then it is no longer considered a bicycle--it is an automobile--and you will need a license in order to ride it.
And this does not only apply to bicycles, but other electric modes of transportation such as electric scooters and skateboards!
(I know someone with an electric skateboard imported from overseas who keeps the remote control stealthily in a pocket so as not to be caught 👀 It is more than an "electric assistant", it is 100% electric, which classifies the skateboard as an automobile under the law!)
Things are changing recently, with an alteration to the law in 2023 (seen above, full article here) to allow people to ride electric kick scooters for businesses such as rental services.
Until July 2023, though, even electric scooters required a driver's license, as they are 100% motorized--and maybe the same thing is being applied to magical wheels?
Tumblr media
Is it possible that magical wheels are legal to drive without licenses because they are not 100% electric and require magical assistance, just like assisted bicycles that require pedaling? 🧐
Tumblr media
Except!
When Riddle balks at being asked to drive a chariot in Book 6 a STYX staff member explains that they maneuver just like blastcycles. Riddle responds with, "I should've taken taken driving lessons and gotten a technomantic vehicle license," so maybe blastcycle licenses actually are a thing? 🧐
Except "technomantic vehicle" might be implying vehicles like the chariot that are 100% technomantic power and not Magical Wheels, which integrate magic! Do they not technically count, much like partially-pedal-powered electric bicycles?
Tumblr media
Riddle comments, "Then again, this IS private property. Maybe I don't have to worry about (a driver's license)."
Do maybe the laws vary by country? Was hooligan-Deuce illegally driving those blastcycles in middle school, or are laws more lax in the Queendom of Roses (Riddle's reaction would lead one to believe otherwise ww), or does the Queendom not consider them automobiles at all?
Is Epel able to drive that blastcycle on campus (and with Vil's encouragement) because NRC is private property? Was Deuce breaking the law when he took Epel off campus, or are blastcycles treated like electric bicycles on Sage's Island?
While magical wheel-specific licenses do technically exist, they were a product of an April Fool's campaign and are probably not supposed to be considered canon to the game ^^
Tumblr media
Twst once had a delightful theme of introducing magical-wheel-inspired content for April Fool's!
While the theme seems to have been discontinued from 2024, the 2022 video that was created for JP-server players has been translated here!
And here is an explanation of the content from 2023!
The 2023 campaign included not only the physical magical wheel driver's license for prefects (with a purchase of a magical wheel tape dispenser), but also a magical wheel for the guest room, while the 2022 campaign included a title that you can use in the game: Magical Wheel License! ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The EN-server has never acknowledged April Fool's and it is unclear if items such as the title or the guest room furniture (a magical wheel in 2023 and a TV in 2024 that plays the Absolutely Beautiful performance first screened at Twst Fes) will ever reach on EN, but maybe one day!

The EU gives final green light to removable batteries in mobile phones from 2027 on.
Tumblr media
The regulation also establishes a calendar for the recycling of batteries from different devices
The European Council has given the green light last Monday to the new regulation[1] that will make it easier for consumers to change portable batteries in mobile phones and other electronic devices from 2027[2] on, for which date they must be easily removable by users. With this, the Twenty-seven support the provisional political agreement reached last December with the European Parliament on new rules for the design, production and waste management of all types of batteries sold in the EU. The regulation will be signed by the European Council and the European Parliament before it is published in the Official Gazette of the EU and enters into force 20 days later.
This standard aims to create a circular economy for batteries by addressing all stages of the life cycle of these products, from design to production and waste treatment. This initiative is of great importance, since the demand for batteries is expected to increase tenfold in 2030.
The regulation establishes that portable batteries incorporated into devices must be removable and replaceable by the end user by 2027 at the latest, allowing sufficient time for operators to adapt the design of their products to this requirement.
“Batteries are key to the decarbonisation process and the EU shift towards zero emission modes of transport. At the same time, end-of-life batteries contain many valuable resources[3] and we need to be able to reuse those critical raw materials instead of relying on third countries for supplies. The new standards will promote the competitiveness of the European industry and guarantee that the new batteries are sustainable and contribute to the ecological transition”, said Teresa Ribera, third vice president of the Spanish Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, at the meeting of Ministers of Energy and Environment held in Valladolid.
The regulation will apply to all batteries, including all waste portable batteries; from electric vehicles; from industrial devices; permitting to start, light-up and ignite (SLI), mainly used for vehicles and machinery, and for light means of transportation, such as electric bicycles, electric mopeds and electric scooters.
Circular economy
The new rules aim to promote a circular economy by regulating batteries throughout their life cycle. Therefore, the regulation sets requirements for end of life, including targets and obligations for collection, as well as for material recovery and extended producer responsibility.
The regulation establishes targets for producers to collect portable battery waste (63% by the end of 2027 and 73% by the end of 2030), and introduces a specific collection target for used batteries for light means of transport (51 % by the end of 2028 and 61% by the end of 2031). In addition, there is a target for the recovery of lithium from used batteries (50% by the end of 2027 and 80% by the end of 2031). The latter can be modified by delegation of authority depending on the market and technological advances and the availability of lithium. It also includes mandatory minimum levels of recycled content for industrial batteries, SLI and electric vehicles (16% for cobalt, 85% for lead, 6% for lithium and 6% for nickel.
Finally, the regulation introduces labelling and information requirements, among other things, on battery components and recycled content, and an electronic 'passport' and QR code. In order to give Member States and economic players on the market enough time to prepare, the labelling requirements will have to be applicable from 2026 and the QR code from 2027.

Due to the rising cost of fuel, electric scooters have become a viable alternative to petrol scooters. The best electric scooters on the market in India are listed below.
Electric scooters come in a wide range of sizes and designs in India. To help you in your quest, we've compiled a list of the best electric scooters currently on the market in India. E-scooters are included on the list from both established and new businesses. These scooters are not only cost-effective but also environmentally benign because their operating and maintenance costs are lower than those of their ICE counterparts. Pros and Cons of Electric Vehicles
There’s been a lot of hype around electric vehicles lately. It’s easy to see why: they’re cleaner, cheaper to maintain, and more fuel-efficient than traditional cars. Electric Cars also have an attractive option to consumers who are conscious about their impact on the environment. However, despite the progress that has been made in this field of technology, there are still some concerns about them which you should consider before purchasing one of your own.
Here’s an overview of some of the top pros and cons of electric vehicle you should think about before buying one of your own.

The Advantages of Owning an EV
1. They Don’t Require Gasoline: Just plug your EV into a regular wall outlet at night, and you’ll be ready to roll in just a few hours. No need to waste time stopping at gas stations; no need to worry about how much fuel costs will rise in coming years.
2. You Can Drive Quietly: Because EVs don’t produce any combustion noise or exhaust, they can be driven without a loud engine idling—even on silent electric scooters.
3. They’re More Environmentally Friendly: Since they run on electricity instead of gasoline, EVs are more environmentally friendly than traditional vehicles.
4. Maintenance Costs Are Lower: The majority of EV parts last longer than those in traditional vehicles because there’s less wear-and-tear from driving and fewer moving parts.
5. Roadside Assistance Is Free: If you have roadside assistance through your insurance company, it’s included when you own an EV—free of charge!
6. It’s Easy to Get Around Town: With EV cars and bikes, you’ll never have to wait in line at a gas station again.
7. There Are Tax Incentives Available: Many states offer tax incentives that help offset some of the cost of purchasing an EV vehicle or bike.
8. An EV Might Be Easier To Park: Without a large engine under its hood, an EV is often easier to park than other types of vehicles.
Tumblr media
The Disadvantages of Owning an EV
There are many EV models currently on the market, but not all of them are created equal. For example, some models have short ranges between charges while others may be too expensive or even lacking in terms of performance. Many electric vehicles come with a steep price tag that can range anywhere from $15,000 to more than $100,000. Purchasing an EV will also be harder if you’re interested in a vehicle that needs subsidies or government assistance; most states have made it difficult or impossible for new players to join existing EV markets due to various regulatory restrictions.
In addition, charging your EV may prove difficult depending on where you live; there’s often little available electricity infrastructure or opportunities for public charging. Charging stations may also be hard to find outside major cities. Lastly, EVs don’t work well in extreme weather conditions like extreme heat or cold. The batteries used by EVs are sensitive to temperature fluctuations and could lose their charge quickly during these times—which means you’ll need access to a garage or other place where you can keep your car warm during colder months. If these are not a headache for you, you can still stick to an electric vehicle.
What makes owning an EV worth it
Compared to conventional vehicles, EVs (electric vehicles) have a number of advantages. For one, they’re very efficient: because EVs do not run on gas, charging your car will cost you far less than filling up your gas tank. Plus, if you live in a city that has adopted green initiatives—and many big cities have—you can often get a subsidy or tax break when purchasing an EV. Still on the fence about going electric? Take into account that not only are most EVs easy on your wallet, but they’re also kinder to our environment: operating them produces much fewer greenhouse gases than traditional cars do.
Finally, there’s no need to worry about running out of fuel while driving: all-electric vehicles have a range of anywhere from 50 miles to 300 miles per charge! This means that you don’t need to worry about stopping at stations along long drives—just plug in at home or work and let it charge overnight. The next day, just unplug it and go!
