send me a “ 🐆 ” and i’ll randomize our muse lists and suggest a few random pairings for us to try out.

Ok so here's the logic I chose: I divided the randomization between my muses that lived between the 1600s-1800s (fandoms: My fandoms: Black Sails, The Musketeers, Versailles, The Alienist, Harlots) and randomized them against the characters in your multi. Then separately randomized the muses from the 1900's (fandoms: Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey, Mad Men) against Michael. I imagine you might not know some of these muses so let me know if anything catches your attention and I'll tell you more about them!

Hey there I just binged all of black sails (save for the last two eps so no spoilers) and i am Fucking Here For Valvert/Black Sails AU

I’m actually not caught up either (i’m like almost done with s3 but school has kept me too busy to finish) but!!! yes!!!!

honestly i could see it go either way too like…. Javert as this man who has his ass off to gain credibility so he can make pirates into law abiding citizens by using the LAW but this, softer side of the law, and meeting this young navy upstart Valjean who is jaded by his experiences in poverty as an orphaned kid, and then subsequently Valjean becoming this dark thing even as he hates himself for it because it’s the only way forward he can see and he’s so bitter about what happened and FUCK england (france?) for its homophobic racist imperialist bullshit, THESE are his people now.

alternatively, Jean Valjean as this idealistic softboi who wins over Javert with his optimism and drive to help people, and Javert is much more pessimistic but ultimately drawn in by it, but is driven to become much more like the Javert we know after becoming a pirate and fighting in the memory of Valjean, for the things he believed and the things he made him believe too… why did he let this man change him, why did he let him into his heart, and yet, he can’t imagine it any other way, and he grows to despise everything about the structures he had clung so closely to before.

both of them as this type of dark hero is SO interesting to me because… brick!Valjean is so deeply invested in mercy and forgiveness and yet clearly has this darkness somewhere inside of him and bringing that out would be amazing and also break my heart (not to mention, he IS a revolutionary, he just takes his action in a different way but seeing him take more direct resistance would also be amazing). and Javert? as a PIRATE? like damn, I can see that so well even though it’s the opposite of brickvert it only takes a tiny shift for his undying faith in the Law to become an undying hatred of it, equally as obsessed, equally as angry and critical, but on the other side of it (especially since flint’s story begins as someone who uses hard work and respectability under that Law to gain his position and is so concerned with proper appearances).

also, Mrs. Barlow is obviously Fantine and Max is Eponine. I don’t know about anyone else but those two are clear. (I could maybe see Elinor as Cosette, if she was raised by her dad instead of Fantine/the Thenardiers/Valjean, and then maybe Marius as Woodes Rogers?)
