The Goals We Set

This is a silly little thing I wrote a long long while ago, about Draco pressed into a life he doesn’t want and being very irritated with Harry, who sees right through his claims of contenment. Honestly, I’m not sure what is happening here, but it made me smile and before I lose it in my phone again, I thought I’d post it somewehre.

So, have some fluff and drarry running away together to live life.

Draco Malfoy worked hard for his comfortable office. He worked hard his entire life, because dedication and focus are the only way you will achieve anything in the measly time you spend on this world. You either work or you drown your sorrows in cheap whiskey under a bridge. Draco is too pretty to hide under a bridge, so work it is. He is smart and eloquent and he has connections—it's no surprise he rose through the ranks, never stopping long enough to personalise his offices, one better (higher, with stunning views he works too hard to appreciate) than the other. Draco is successful, he is admired and feared and he has everything he needs to be happy.

The delivery man (Harry, the tag on his chest proclaims, but Draco refuses to admit he cares enough to look, let alone to notice that it's always Harry bringing his mail) gives him a dirty grin as he drops the parcel (it's quite heavy, Draco would be impressed by the ease with which he carried it, had he looked up from his Very Important papers to dignify Harry's entrance) onto Draco's desk.
