Nel 2019 denunciò l'attore per violenza sessuale sul set del film 'Danton' Gérard Depardieu e Emmanuelle Debever in 'Danton' di Andrzej Wajda - Youtube L'attrice francese Emmanuelle Debever, 60 anni, si è tolta la vita gettandosi nella Senna a Parigi dopo aver lanciato accuse di violenza sessuale contro l'attore Gérard Depardieu. Il suicidio è avvenuto il 7 dicembre scorso, giorno in cui è stato trasmesso dalla tv France 2 il programma "Complément d'enquête", inchiesta sui casi di presunte violenze sessuali commesse dall'attore francese, dal titolo "Gérard Depardieu: la chute de l'ogre". La notizia è riportata oggi dai media francesi. L'annuncio della scomparsa è stato dato dall'Institut national de l'audiovisuel (Ina) sul suo account X (ex Twitter). Secondo la giornalista Camille Nevers del quotidiano "Libération" l'attrice "si è gettata nella Senna qualche giorno fa". Emmanuelle Debever, nata l'8 agosto 1963 a Marsiglia, è stata una delle prime attrici a denunciare pubblicamente Depardieu. Le molestie sessuali sarebbero avvenute durante le riprese nel 1982 del film 'Danton' (uscito nelle sale nel 1983) diretto da Andrzej Wajda dove interpretava Louison, la giovanissima moglie di Georges Danton (Depardieu), il rivoluzionario francese, campione del popolo, che nel 1793 di scontra con Maximilien de Robespierre. Il 5 giugno 2019, in un post pubblicato sul suo account Facebook, Emmanuelle Debever denunciò le azioni dell'attore sul set. "Signor Depardieu. Oggi assolto dall'accusa di stupro e violenza sessuale. No comment", scrisse in seguito all'archiviazione di un'indagine contro l'attore per stupro e violenza sessuale. Parlando di 'Danton', l'attrice aggiunse: "Il mostro sacro si era abbandonato a molte cose durante le riprese... Approfittando dell'intimità all'interno di una carrozza. Facendo scivolare la sua grossa zampa sotto le mie sottovesti, presumibilmente per avere una migliore sensazione di me..." Il post era accompagnato da una foto d'archivio in bianco e nero scattata sul set del film, accanto all'attore. All'epoca fu una dichiarazione che passò inosservata. A differenza di oggi, allora poche attrici si erano espresse a sostegno di Charlotte Arnould, che nell'agosto 2018 aveva sporto la prima denuncia contro Depardieu per stupro.L'attrice aveva esordito alla tv francese nel 1982 nelle serie "Joëlle Mozart", per recitare in seguito nel telefilm "Le inchieste del commissario Maigret".
