Siapa yang terhebat dari ketiga juru taktik ini bakal diketahui dalam gala yang digelar di London pada 23 Oktober mendatang. Allegri, Zidane, dan Conte mengalahkan para pesaing seperti Pep Guardiola dan Jose Mourinho.

Dalam Gala FIFA lalu, Claudio Ranieri yang mengantarkan Leicester City membalikkan semua prediksi untuk menjadi juara Liga Inggris, diresmikan sebagai Pelatih Terbaik Dunia 2016. Namun kini sang pelatih Italia tidak akan bisa mempertahankan gelar. Namanya bahkan tidak tercantum dalam 10 besar nominasi, yang akhirnya dipangkas jadi tiga nama saja.

Sosok finalis pertama adalah Massimiliano Allegri. Sang pelatih Juventus musim lalu membawa timnya juara Liga Italia dan Coppa Italia. Selain itu Allegri juga membawa Bianconeri menembus final Liga Champions 2017 –final kedua bagi Juventus dalam tiga musim terakhir di Eropa–. Sayang, Juve kalah dari Real Madrid dengan skor 3-1.

Berikutnya finalis kedua adalah Zinedine Zidane. Pelatih Real Madrid tersebut memberikan total empat gelar tahun ini untuk Los Blancos. Mulai dari Liga Spanyol, Liga Champion, Piala Super Eropa, dan Piala Super Eropa. Satu-satunya titel yang tidak didapatkan Madrid tahun 2017 adalah Copa del Rey. Zizou juga menjadi pelatih yang mendobrak tradisi Liga Champions modern, karena bisa membawa Los Blancos juara kompetisi tersebut dua musim beruntun.

Finalis terakhir adalah Antonio Conte. Di musim pertamanya bersama Chelsea, Conte sukses memberikan gelar juara Liga Inggris. Sekaligus membuktikan kapasitasnya yang selama ini sukses membawa Juventus menguasai Liga Italia. Yang hebat, Conte mampu menyulap Chelsea, yang musim sebelumnya cuma penghuni papan tengah.

Ketiga nama ini sukses lebih unggul dibandingkan tujuh nominee lain yang masuk dalam 10 besar yaitu Jose Mourinho (Manchester United), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Carlo Ancelotti (Bayern Munchen), Luis Enrique (Barcelona), Leonardo Jardim (AS Monaco), Joachim Low (timnas Jerman), Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham), Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid), dan Tite (Brazil).
